Hello all.

For a while, all downloads have failed on Firefox (150.0.1), Windows 11. No file downloaded, and download tab shows a 'failed' underneath the file name. This holds true when downloading any file type, via firefox directly, or an outside app (Discord, for example) that hooks into the browser. Downloads work on other browsers (Chrome).

• I have checked about:config and reset the recommended options from other articles ("...lastDir" was the only one of the list that had an entry).
• Starting in Troubleshooting / Safe Mode does not fix.
• I currently run Norton - disabling it did not seem to fix.
• I don't have a Family group, so it's probably not the parental controls issue (though I think that was solved?)

I recognize that the lack of ability to download in Safe Mode points towards the possibility of an outside program blocking downloads, but I'm at a bit of a loss, since other browsers do work.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

We run the www.rarlab.com website and several users have complained that the download of the exe file for the English version of WinRAR 7.20 downloads a 0mb file and is also flagged as malicious. The file can be downloaded easily on the Edge browser and it is considered safe by Google too.

Ever since 149.02 update Firefox has been unable to download any images automatically. They are always 'canceled'. I have to manually click RETRY button for it to work.

I have been through a ton of possibilities with Gemini, none of which worked. Apart form totally reset Firefox, which I refuse to do because WTF !

Gemini gave up and suggested I post something on here. I'll just switch to Brave until 149.03 fixes it.

i can see the video detected but when i click on the blue download button it says sadly we failed at downloading that specific video. It does this for youtube videos no matter how many times i try it. i never had this problem before and it seemed to have started in may of 2026
