As the title indicates, copy/pasting does not work.
I'm on Windows 10, have installed Firefox about two days ago (I've recently switched to it) so the version of FF is up to date. I've looked up a few fixes before posting and they didn't work:
- Tried booting FF on safe mode and it didn't fix the issue - it clearly isn't caused by an add-on (and I've never had this issue in my previous browser with nearly the same add-ons installed). - other people seem to have had the exact same issue multiple times and it's lasted for years, so it's clearly a problem on FF's end.
Here is the issue described more specifically: Copying things from a tab from FF and into the online version of Word does not work - when I try to, the intended selection: - disappears a few seconds after I've pasted - or it does not appear at all - or when it does, it erases the entire sentence it was pasted next to it, which you can imagine is absolutely bothersome.
I've also tried to copy/paste statistics from a site called archiveofourown.org onto another FF tab. - What ended up being copied is only the last character of the entire content I was trying to paste, which I think suggests there's some issue with what's contained in the clipboard.
I'm mentioning these two websites because I'm guessing that something about them is probably conflicting with the copy/paste feature, however I'm hoping no one will have the gall to tell me it's those websites' faults and that I should just stop using them.
When pasting (while having hopefully copied the former selected content- and no, it wasn't the case), it always pastes the content which was last copied into the clipboard prior to that very attempt, which shows that the clipboard's content was not refreshed with the last selected copied one.
I'm surprised to see that FF has had such a glaring issue for years and for many other users, and updates have never given a fix for it. I'd like this issue to be fixed properly, because I'd hate to have to switch back to my previous browser. FF sports so many nice features that other browsers don't have, and it'd be a shame to ruin the experience with a bug so basic as the copy/paste feature being broken.

I am running FF 77.0.1. This has been an issue for awhile however. In Options, under Applications/PDF, there is no Preview in Firefox option. I've tried quitting FF, renaming/moving handlers.json; but on re-opening the relevant section remains the same(action=0). I discovered about:config pdfjs.disable=false, previously it was set to true. Then in Options/Applications/PDF, "Firefox" is an option to open, and the action=3 in handlers.json, however the behavior of downloaded pdfs is the same (downloaded). (This is trying example pdfs from different sites). I've tried changing about:config security.cps.enable=false, no change. I've also seen a plugin to "fix content types" that shows up on this site, but it didn't change anything. From what I gather, action=3 should be Preview in Firefox, not Firefox, and all pdfs are being downloaded. Is there a way to fix this? Not seeing pdfs in browser is significantly annoying.

I have been using Firefox for the past 2 years, but only recently have I noticed that Firefox is using 1 GB of RAM! It never increases or decreases and its getting very annoying now since I have barely any RAM to run zoom with (which for some reason takes up the rest of my RAM). I can't even run anything else, and thats annoying me a lot since my fan has to keep running. I can't upgrade my RAM because I use a laptop, and my laptop is under warranty and I can't afford to lose the warranty by upgrading the RAM. Is there any other way to decrease memory usage beside using about:memory and pressing the "minimize memory usage" button? Nothing happens when I press the button.

Hi Firefox start to take a lot of CPU depending on how many tabs are opened (that is normal of course especially if with flash contents). What is not normal is that CPU will not be released when tabs are being closed, even with one (blank) tab left opened CPU usage is 40%-85% (depending if other process need CPU). Essentially: once Firefox process obtained 80% of CPU you can close tabs but you are fucked the same, now opening new tabs is a pain! Of course restart fix the issue. Is not a matter of addons or updates, Firefox and system (Windows 10) are updated to last version; I feel is something related with flash contents. Is it possible only me experience this?! Regards

dear ladies and gentlemen,
Firefox has been delivered with the new print dialog since version 82.
I have to print around a hundred PDF files at work (usually only the first page of the document). The new print dialog means that there is a lot more work for me here.
Is it possible to set the "old" system print dialog by default or to instruct firefox to always print only the first page of the document by default?

My system requires me to log in to the internet when I start up. Usually I am given a message and asked to click on a link, which brings up my login page. Since yesterday I have been receiving the following message: The page isn’t redirecting properly
"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies." I have cleared my cookies and cache and restarted numerous times. This message keeps coming up. I am able to access my home page, but any attempt to click on bookmarked links results in this message, and occasionally it will refuse even that, telling me it's redirected me too many times. Apart from clearing my cookies cache, which doesn't help, what else can I do to fix this problem? Thanks

Windows 10 gesture two finger swipe left and two finger swipe right doesn't work in Firefox. Two finger swipe left allows user to go history backward and two finger swipe right allows user to go history forward. These gestures work in Firefox if the user hold Alt key and preform the gestures. But most of the users don't like to hold Alt key and preform the gestures. Please fix that issue.

Hi,
I brought my computer to Best Buy for some audio issues it was having. They reset my OS and drivers and now I lost all of my Mozilla Firefox bookmarks and passwords. I do not have a recent JSON backup file. How can I recover these?
Thanks.

For example: Google DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 or, Open DNS 208.67.222.222 · 208.67.220.220
Enabling DNS over HTTPS dose not give me FULL control over this. I should be able to put a DNS IP address in there like in Internet Explore.

I'm running Firefox 68.9.0 ESR, and it keeps whining about an update being available. I don't care, because every time I update, one of the extensions I use every day is disabled without my permission. How do I get firefox to shut up about it once and for all? In other words, where is the "do not check for updates" command hidden, or, how else can I shut this thing up? I have, in the past, liked firefox, but it has, over the last few years, supported less and less of features I use daily, at a minimum, many times/day for most.
So how do I shut these annoying alerts about an update I have NO intention of installing off? "You can't" is not a valid answer. Nor is "just upgrade and lose half of the stuff (again) that you use all the time." Sorry if I sound angry, but these constant annoyances (and Thunderbird is doing the same---so same question for it here) are really getting on my nerves.
I have Firefox almost working the way it should. Still can't click in a bookmark toolbar bookmark and then click on "add bookmark here" like I could. That was one of those I used about 10--30 times per day, depending on what I was working on.
Thanks.

Hi! I found a strange thing today. I wanted to open an ftp link and firefox asked me in which app I wanted to open it. Of course I wanted to open it in Firefox, but the only app on list was Internet Explorer. So, I added Firefox to the list, but I couldn't open the link with it, because when I marked Firefox and tried to click "open", nothing happend and the box still appeared. So, I ended up using IE. I'm using Firefox Nightly (81.0a1 atm of encountering this).

I'm trying to take off this "Extension (Tabliss)" tag on my url. I have followed the instructions down below from another Firefox support forum: https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/make-addressbar-text-extension-name-of-the-extension-shorter-or-hide/28026/3
The instructions I followed are listed below:
"Users can apply custom style rules to modify Firefox’s toolbar area by creating a userChrome.css file. This takes about 10 minutes so when you have time to take it slowly and carefully:
(1) Set up your chrome folder and userChrome.css file following the five six steps in this article:
https://www.userchrome.org/how-create-userchrome-css.html 45
I have a boring video there if you like demonstrations.
(2) This is the code to paste into the file. You can edit the file using Notepad or a better editor. Make sure to keep it in a plain text format with a .css file extension (not .css.txt).
See improved rule down in: Make addressbar text "Extension (Name Of The Extension)" shorter or hide
/*
Hide Extension Name in the identity area unless hovered for half a second (updated for Fx80)
visibility: collapse !important; transition: visibility 250ms ease-in-out;
}
visibility: visible !important; transition: visibility 250ms ease-in-out 500ms;
}
(3) Firefox should read the file at its next startup and apply it to every extension page you load."
Edit: So, yeah, I need help getting this tag off. I'm new to Firefox so it could be something obvious I'm missing. I have also tried CTRL+SHIFT+R to reload the page for changes and also closed and reopened my Firefox entirely.
Thanks in advance.

I do want to mention upfront that this issue is also affecting Chrome and IE. It's not solely a Firefox issue, but I'm hoping someone here can help me anyways.
I have tried the following:
I think these are outdated methods I only found on non-official sources, but will mention them just in case:
In Options > Security: 'Block dangerous & deceptive content': true, 'Block dangerous downloads': false
Internet speed test: 58.96 Mbps download; 148.04 Mbps upload. No connection loss.
This problem is absolutely maddening. I'll be so grateful if anyone can help me out!! :( Thank you in advance, I know this was a long read!
(Edited for readability)
My drop down options no longer include the "restore previous session". I am at version 74.0
