In most standard Windows applications, the title bar and tab colour follows the default Windows settings, e.g. (in my case) the title bar and tab colour of active application windows is blue. This is true even in Thunderbird. Since FF 89, title bar and tabs are something between white and light gray, which is extremely user-un-friendly. FF developer team should return to the previous colour scheme. Yes, I know the circumstances of free software but this is NO excuse to alienate millions of users. Developers that change fully functionable software just, well, just to CHANGE it should consider that they are doing WRONG. Could anyone tell them? I am just user, not developer and I am not willing to learn developer tools like BugZilla just for this simple guiding principle.

I just updated to the latest version of Firefox, and all of a sudden I have a new icon, Extensions, that looks like a puzzle piece, I cant seem to be able to remove it....at all.

Ever since the last update, every time I download something on Firefox this download tab pops up every time when the new download is complete. Ive tried disabling every extension, Ive tried the about:config solution I found on this page, setting it to "false" and I havent been able to find anything in tools or settings.. but nothing disables it and its getting annoying. Ive had Firefox for years and this has never happened before.

I have some fonts that I have installed through normal methods. They are all ttf files. However, they do not show up in the firefox change fonts dialog box. Even many pre-installed fonts do not show up. Websites are only able to use the local fonts listed in this dialog box. How will I then be able to use those fonts?

The latest version adds space between bookmarks making my Bookmark Toolbar overflow down the right side way too large. Is there someway to make Bookmarks space like before?

I now have a weather report on my often overcrowded task bar. How do i make it go away?

After updating to 89.0 on Windows 10, I don't see a speaker icon on the tab that's currently playing audio unless I hover over the tab. In to previous releases, any tab that was playing audio had a speaker icon that showed you which tab(s) are playing.

I've used Firefox for years, and this is, by far, the worst update to date......

the newly upgraded version of Firefox 89 is horrendous!!! How did you manage to get it approved for "universal design" to make it "disability friendly"? I find it visually unfriendly, it does not allow for the level of adaptation some of us might need to make it more visually friendly and easier to navigate

please provide instructions for those of us who prefer to go back to version 88! or make additional changes to correct version 89 to make it more user-friendly like version 88 was......please!!!!

(and lesson learned, I will stop doing "upgrade/update available" if it's going to result in the horrifically unfriendly version I'm having to deal with right now )(or else you all are really trying to push people to Chrome and/or Edge, which I assure you, is not my preference)

The floating tabs are awful. They all mix together and look like one giant tab which makes it infinitely harder to find what I'm doing when I have many tabs open. The proton design is disappointing all around but these tabs are unacceptable.

Beginning 3 days ago, for no reason I know of, Firefox has become sluggish and active windows frequently report that they are "not responding": the cursor will spin, character entry is impossible, scrolling can't be invoked, and even clicks on other open tabs are ignored. (As an example, it has required more than 5 minutes to enter this text so far, even though I am now running in Safe Mode.)

Memory and system utilization usage is unchanged from earlier views under Task Manager (FF with many windows/tabs open may take on average 1524MB out of 32GB on the machine, and perhaps 5% of the cores, more or less).

I have opened no new or never-used-before tabs in this period, and have also closed a handful of them to see whether that produced any difference in these symptoms. (It did not.)

As mentioned I am operating in Safe Mode and these errors persist. In any case my only add-on is Adblock Plus. I upgraded FF to v87.0 last night on the chance that the version change would make a difference, with negative results.

At the moment Troubleshooting info indicates that I have "9/9" Multiprocess Windows, and I will try to include an image from that page.

These hangs occur in all windows, so the fundamental problem appears to be in a more basic process.

No other function on the pc is misbehaving in any way, but FF itself is now nearly unusable.

The only temporary cure I have found is to restart FF, after which there are no occurrences of non-responsive windows for a period of only 3 minutes to 15 minutes (during which FF memory and cpu utilization are generally constant).

Reinstalling FireFox or engaging in further profile updates or about:config changes are all well in scope for this problem determination. The one restriction here is that I cannot afford to lose my current windows/tab entries.

every time i clear cache and history this is what i see in words with frind not it has not always done that seems ince the nest Firefox update it does it I hav eanother problem when shut dw nte computer and restart Mozlla hangs and will not load could it be my home page I use xfinity

Yesterday my firefox updated to version 96.0. It changed to screen to dark theme. I prefer the light theme and need help to change it back. Thanks

I dont want to only disable those addons/plugins, i want to completly delete them. When i klick manage, i can only enable, disabled, and change update settings. What reason is there those addons can't be deleted by default? Not everyone wants google...

I've been with yellow folders for several years. In the version that I have now, version 111, no longer works. I do not know because it doesn't work now. Maybe version 111 no longer admits it? Do you know how to put the yellow folders?

Greetings, I've checked a few articles in Firefox to help with my question, but none of them are helping. (Here's the main article: http://example.com.) Here's the situation. Say I go to a website's Contact page and click the button to contact someone, a window appears and asks me what app I want to use to open the email. Gmail is my default email, and Firefox is my default browser, and I use Windows 10. When I open the window of options (see attached screenshot) to open the email, and I then click "Choose Other Application" (other than Firefox), I don't see the Gmail app anywhere. I then followed the directions in that link above to check my Windows settings, per its suggestion, which I did ... but in those settings, too, I got to a point where the directions no longer matched what I'm seeing on my screen. I didn't see the Gmail app anywhere. Could you let me know in simple layperson's terms how to open Gmail links in Firefox? I don't have a PhD in computer science, so please keep it very simple. I'm running 96.0.3 on a fully patched Win 10 Pro system - both O/S and programs. When Firefox is running I'm getting these pop-up error messages randomly with changing content. They stay on screen for some seconds and then go away. Message states it's from (via) 5.back2yard.biz. I put that in my hosts file and I'm still getting them. My network is a cable modem hooked to Xfinity and then cable connected to another fully newer patched router. All addresses are 10. range. I ran both a Malwarebytes scan and a Windows Security scan - both are clean.

I'm unable to upload a small image after a hour so I'll give up on that right now.

Hi, The program SEEMS to start but Firefox does not load one singel page. I get no errormessage but firefox does not even try to open pages.

Also, if I try to go into "settings" nothing happens (no errormessage, but settings does not open).

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Does not help.

If I try some other bowser everything works fine. The problem started after I did a total uninstallation of Office365 (does not need to be depending on it but it could be a connection).

Have searched the web without finding a solution and now I ask for help here, I really do want to keep using Firefox but currently it is impossible.

Using version 92.0 After initial log in, F.Fox is very slow to move to other web sites, sometimes just locks uip. Never had problem before version 92.0 Does not happen on Chrome/Edge But I like F.Fox Solution?

Firefox has been saving images from some sites as webp instead of JPG for a long time. There have been repeated threads on this subject which get locked and then pushed into the long grass.

Sure, I could botch a solution by installing an add-on to convert them, or I could use something like XnView (which I do, periodically, and in bulk) after the save event has happened, or I can edit about:info to tell Firefox not to accept webp - but this breaks functionality for some sites (like eBay), but I have found that in the end I have had to start switching to Microsoft Edge to do my browsing for a number of sites because Mozilla Firefox are ignoring repeated user requests to provide a simple option to STOP doing this.

I don't want to save any files as webp - save them as PNG if you like, or jpg, but I use an ancient copy (v3.24) of ACDsee (from the days of Windows 98) for my image browsing, sorting, viewing etc because it is perfect, blisteringly quick, has no extra editing or other functionality which I don't need or want, and it doesn't bloat up anywhere with thumbnail files... but sadly webp didn't exist back then so it doesn't support it. I have used a number of much more up to date browser-viewers, but there is nothing can touch this OLD version of ACDsee for basically brilliant design.

I'm not changing my image viewer. It's non-negotiable.

I WILL however change my web browser if I have to, if the developers of the browser continually kick into the long grass to lock, hide away and pretend there's isn't an issue which has been repeatedly flagged as an annoyance for so many users.

I have been using one form or other of 'Mozilla' family of browsers since the days of Quarterdeck Mosaic. I don't particularly want to switch my loyalty, especially to Microsoft, but if they are listening to what customers want and providing it, and Mozilla are not, what else is there to do ?

I am a retired systems developer. I cannot envisage this being SUCH a big ask.

Modern software treats its users like idiots and takes away control, doing everything it's assumes on their behalf that they will want.

It is not difficult to provide an option within settings for when saving webp files to save as webp, png or jpg with conversion if necessary. All you need to do is hear the screams and respond. :)
