When I upload an image with Firefox, it typically shows a red tint. I've seen similar reports from decades ago so I disabled `gfx.color_management.mode` in `about:config`, but that didn't help, even after restarting the browser and the computer. I disabled a couple of related settings, but that also didn't help. What else could I try?

My apologies if I am being a numpty, but I have been using Firefox for many years without issue, and recently (possibly after an update, but I cannot be certain), it has started to randomly freeze. I am running Ubuntu 22.04, and Firefox 119.0. I have demonstrated to myself that if I open a web page with links (but not always), and click on the link, I may still scroll up and down the page, but the mouse cursor never seemed to recognise the hotlink, and doesn't jump to it. The links will work on Chromium. I initially tried resetting the browser, thereby losing all my open pages, but that didn't work. That also removed all extensions ("all" two of them) and that didn't work. Firefox is now pretty much unusable. Any help to resolve this would be appreciated, as I cannot find any solutions online, and it seems I am not alone with this issue! Many thanks,

For about 2 weeks now my Firefox Desktop v. 128.0.3 (Mozilla-Flatpak - 1.0) freezes within 30 mins of use.

No good waiting, nothing responds except the exit button.

Clearly, there's a flaw in a recent update.

I'm on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS and my Firefox is from Flatpak.

While writing this I got a Flatpak update for Firefox and Firefox.Locale - whatever that is.

So I'll park my question till I close and reopen Firefox - hopefully with a release from the big freeze-up.

In Firefox, one can drag'n'drop a tab to the bookmarks toolbar to create a bookmark. During the drag, If one hovers the pointer over a folder in the bookmarks toolbar, the folder is supposed to open so you can put the newly created bookmark inside the folder.

This behavior has been failing a lot for me lately: the folder doesn't open, so dropping the tab doesn't create a bookmark. - The behavior is erratic: right now it works for some tabs and fails for others; - Drag'n'drop to the bookmarks toolbar outside a folder still works; - Drag'n'drop to the bookmarks sidebar, inside a folder or not, still works.

NB: I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but I never created a Mozilla Bugzilla issue before so I decided to see what happens here first.

Same as the question.

The display shows some icons on the last tabs I opened but it seems only some basic website layout is loaded but all the details are gone. Like text, button borders, even the exit, fullscreen and minimize buttons. I have seen that this has been an issue for quite some time before so I am looking if there is a fix or a workaround. I have and Nvidia graphics card and drivers if that means anything. And my swap file is 20 GB and my RAM is 16 so the space shouldn't be a problem. It gets fixed when I turn off Firefox but not when I refresh tabs.

The crazy thing is that when I take a screenshot inside firefox (with firefox integrated screenshot option, like when I press right click and then take screenshot. I can see the text so it seems like it is a display problem but this only happens with firefox and not other apps.

Appreciate all the help. I will ask of ubuntu formums next if I don't find a solution here.

Thank you all for reading and answering!

Hello Good People,

I noticed that the snap version of Firefox had a lag issue when typing into input field. For example, when composing an email and wanting to use backspace to quickly delete a misspelled word, then backspace works slowly, stuttering and jittering. If I hold down a key in the input field it also lays the character down in a stuttery, slow way.

I tried reinstalling the system and that solved the issue. But it has returned again. Maybe it was an update. I also installed WINE and waybridge to get some windows plugins to work on my DAW. I don't know if that has affected it.

I also tried removing the snap version and installing firefox using the terminal but the problem persisted.

It's an annoying problem. Any advice appreciated.

Issue: When trying to stream video via criterion, progress spinner spins for about a minute and then the website delivers: 'Please try again in a supported browser'. Firefox delivers: 'Firefox is installing components necessary to reproduce the audio or video in this page. Try again later.'

In plug-in manager: Widevine is not enabled, receive alert: '...this will install in a few moments'. It does not actually ever install. In settings: Play content with DRM is enabled.

OS used: UBUNTU 22.04.02 LTS 64 bit

Attempted fixes: 1) Toggling DRM in settings. 2) Firefox & machine restart 3) update & upgrade terminal commands, separately 4) Changing VPN servers & disconnecting VPN (NORD)

Note: Playing videos on Youtube works, as does streaming music via Tidal.

Hi there, At some point FF (Ubuntu 22.04) started to behave weirdly and did not respond to clicks. I decided to restart it. After that bookmark toolbar was gone. Then I restarted it agian. Most sites loaded fine. But some logged out, others do not at all! e.g. I had to sign in on YouTube. web.whatsapp.com does not work anymore (more on that later) When I tried to load this site and ask question I get this error: Local storage and cookies are required (well other sites are using them?!) I am writing this on my Chromium. The issue with whatsapp is complicated. web.whatsapp.com is stuck in a window (see images). I cleared site data and cookies but still no help here. I can open the page in incognito mode without a problem (of course not logged in). I restarted FF multiple times before and after clearing cache. I can't even open the inspector here: sometimes it opens a blank window (see image below) sometimes it does not open anything. Safe mode has the same issues.

I am wondering, what is wrong with my profile. I do not want to lose my bookmarks, history and all the open tabs.

Hello, I am running Ubuntu 22.04 (Firefox v 121.0) on a custom PC. Ryzen 5700G, 32GB Ram, 2TB Storage, and a Radeon RX 580 (just to give some insight into the system in case it is useful). I use multiple mozilla services and haven't had many issues up until now. Everytime I open Firefox it immediately it fires right up, the moment I try to open a tab, search, etc.. it begins to lag. It will then freeze the browser and my entire PC soon follows suit. I have had to hard reset the PC about 3 times now. I originally had the snap version installed and thought that installing the deb package would fix the issue. I completely uninstalled the snap version and turned off unattended installations in case the system tried to reinstall the snap. I then installed the deb package and fired it up again, only to have the same issue. I have ruled out a couple of things on my end. I entered Firefox Safe Mode and unchecked all of my extensions (the only ones I run are Ublock, Bitwarden, and Relay). I ran a mem test and have been monitoring Psensor to ensure the CPU wasn't overheating (both of these tests were fine). I also scanned my entire PC to ensure I did not have any viruses (clamscan reported no viruses). I have been running my PC for about an hour now without starting Firefox and using Chrome, and I have had no issues with freezing or anything similar to what happened with Firefox. Not sure where to go from here. I love using Firefox and would love to get back to surfing as soon as possible! Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated! PS I could not find any logs about the session. I looked in ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/events and couldn't find anything. If there is another place they are stored let me know and I would be happy to send them. I just don't want to open Firefox until I feel it is safe for my PC.

I forgot to add: I disabled hardware acceleration as well, did not fix the issue.

I am running Firefox 122.0 on Ubuntu 22.04. When I have a decent number of tabs open, firefox will often randomly decide to lock up completely. GUI is almost entirely unresponsive. I can right click the menu bar area and get the Menu Bar/Bookmark Options/etc. context menu, but it's also screwed up (2 options that are normally there are completely missing). This has occurred for a year or so. Originally, I used the snap version but recently backed up and switched to installing from .deb. Still the same issue. I saw recommendations for turning off hardware acceleration, and that didn't prevent the problem. Running `top`, I see that I always have plenty of memory (at least 10G free) free and worst case 1 thread is being run 100% but the others are hardly being utilized. No crash reports are generated (I will pkill firefox to stop it). Addons and extensions are all disabled.

I recently realized that hitting the windows key with firefox frozen will allow the web page to show again, but it's back to frozen. I keep hitting the windows key, and it will unfreeze just momentarily to show me the current webpage that is up. I can also Ctrl+N and open a new window, and the new window works perfectly fine independent of the completely frozen first window.
