In the new version of the Developer Edition the options "close tabs to the right" and "close other tabs" are in a sub-menu named "Close Multiple Tabs" inside the context menu. Is there's a way to change this so that they will appear directly in the main context menu? I use "close tabs to the right" often and I find this very annoying.

Hello, I'd like to open url links clicked from any program in a private tab. Firefox is my default browser. Links open in new tab, which is okay. I browse in private mode all of the time, but clicking links opens in normal tab, then it cashes the content, cashes history etc. Most of the stuff (from for example discord) is a one time thing, silly and probably even useless stuff.

Is there a possible way to force windows10 to use "firefox.exe -private" as the default handler to open firefox ? I don't really mind if it opens a new window instead of new tab as long as it remains private.

Thank You for Your time.

Hi, this question has been asked before. I have followed all the steps given that thread but still no result.

question link : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1271362#question-reply

According to the steps the contents of the css file that I have created are : ```@-moz-document url-prefix(about:home), url-prefix(about:newtab) { .click-target-container *, .top-sites-list * { color: #fff !important ; text-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #000 !important ; }

body { background: url(file:///C:/Users/Akshay & Anjali/Pictures/SavedPictures/1.jpg) !important ; background-size: cover !important ; } }```

I have also attached the pictures of page where chrome folder is in my computer.

please let me know what i can change.

thanks

when there's an open private window and you close the non private window first , all the tabs are closed and when you open firefox again all tabs are cleared and just a new tab is open

this is not desired behavior I guess and i've lost all the open tabs multiple times this way because sometimes private windows remain left open in another desktop or just minimized (and you shutdown the PC or just close the Firefox and all the tabs are gone!).

is there any settings for this ? if not then this is a bug report I guess

Hey there, I've had a few tabs pinned over the past few weeks for things that need to be done. However I had two windows open and I closed the one with the pins before the 2nd window. Recently closed windows is empty and restore previous session restored the session from yesterday rather than the one just closed. Is there anything else I can do or are the pins gone? Thanks

Until the most recently Firefox update (7/1/20), when I clicked in my address bar, it would drop down and show the web sites I visited most frequently. Now, when I click in the address bar, it shows a bunch of random websites, some of which I only visited once a long time ago. How do I get the drop down menu back to how it was before the update? Thanks.

The add-on extension "NewTabURL" (by "sogame") provided the option I want and used for a number of years. But it stopped working when Firefox was updated to version 16.0. When I click for a new tab, all I get is a completely blank tab. How can I automatically have the new tab always be a copy of the current active tab?

Can the extension "NewTabURL" be revised to work in version 16 and/or version 17? If not, how else can I get the new tab functionality that I desire? I can't seem to find any other extension that provides that functionality.

hi all

Having updated to Firefox 17.0 (from 16.0.2), for some reason I don't get warned when closing multiple tabs any more.

I've confirmed the relevant options are selected and am 100% certain this was working fine before updating Firefox today.

I've replicated the problem on my vista 32bit platform and on XP 32 bit too.

I also looked at the changelog for Firefox 17 but can't see any explanation for this change in behaviour, although I wonder whether this might have something to do with it "772319 No option to disable the "Close other tabs" prompt."

As I use Tab Mix Plus (add-on), I've also checked Firefox in safemode and have found the native tab warnings not working, so have concluded it's an issue with Firefox (rather than something to do with an extension).

I've checked "about:config" and "browser.tabs.warnOnClose" is set to true, as is "browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs".

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

I have been forced to create a new profile because, after an update to version 17.0, Firefox persisted in opening tabs from the previous session. Unfortunately another problem developed, namely, the constant appearance of a series of thumbnails in a new tab, a facility that I definitely do not want. After consulting Mozilla help and forums I tried all of the suggested solutions to no avail.

I eventually went about:config browser.newtabpage.enabled and rendered it false. The annoying thumbnails have disappeared!!!!!

Recently, FF has started opening my last tabs when I start a fresh session. I have already checked to make sure that none of the applicable settings are enabled, such as under Options->General: When FF starts "SHOW MY HOMEPAGE" is selected. But for some reason, it opens my last session. The only way I've been able to get it to stop doing this is by having it delete my browsing history after I close the session. I don't want this since I often use my history to re-find information I need for class research. I have made certain that all my settings are the same from before FF started doing this. It only started doing this after the computer was turned off for a long weekend.

I've already searched through the Mozilla help pages and all I can find is how to restore the previous session or similar. I don't want to restore my previous session, I want it to stop restoring my previous session without having to delete my browsing history each time.

It seems intuitive to me that opening multiple tabs (w/ one copy of Firefox running) should be more efficient than opening multiple copies of Firefox, but I can't find anything about this when I google it or search your site. Which is better, or does it not matter? If one is better over the other, is there a lot of difference?

f it matters, I usually have 4-6 tabs open, but sometimes 10 or so. He usually has 4-6 copies of Firefox running, w/ 1 or 2 tabs each.

I'm tired of arguing this, so I'd really like to know. Thank you!

I have history turned off so images aren't cached for the New Tab Page and have to be reloaded when Firefox is restarted. Also, some of the sites that I have pinned are using HTTPS and wont allow their images to be cached.

Is there a way for me to set a custom image for each pinned website? Either a custom screenshot that isn't in the cache or an icon of some sort? Anything would be better than a blank box there.

Thank you
