Hi,

In the search bar (I’m not sure about its official name), my previous searches used to appear as suggestions before Google’s own suggestions. However, since I changed my default search engine from Google US to Google UK, it no longer seems to remember the searches I make. I’ve tried switching back to Google US, but that didn’t restore the behavior. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

For example, I previously searched for “things to see in Latvia”, which is why it appears as a suggestion in the screenshot. But if I now search for “things to see in Louvre Museum” and then try the same search again a few hours or days later, it isn’t saved and therefore doesn’t appear as a suggestion.

When a system-wide VPN application (not built into Firefox) is enabled, the behavior of the address bar changes: on the first click, it only shows 5 sites (Top Sites), instead of the usual 9. After pressing the Spacebar, the list from browsing history loads normally. The problem persists after turning off the VPN and only disappears after a full restart of Firefox. I found 'chromeasia.com' autocompleting in the Firefox address bar upon typing 'ch'. I searched History for this and there was no sign of it. I cleared all history data, rebooted, ran a disk cleanup and find that 'chromeasia.com' stil autocompletes upon typing 'ch' in the address bar.

Any suggestions or advice on how to clear this would be warmly appreciated. Thanks. Stephen

I noticed that after the latest update, searching with the address bar no longer works as smoothly: autocomplete suggestions only appear in the bar when typing in a single character on a new tab, rather than updating with each additional keystroke. The suggestion only appears upon unselecting and reselecting the address bar. (see uploaded images)

Also, the search suggests seem to regenerate the entire dropdown menu with each keystroke, resulting in an unpleasant "flickering" appearance. It's not the biggest deal, but I don't recall firefox (mis)behaving this way before.

Can anyone help me with this?

AI is using my data and serving up slop from what it gathers. I'd like to keep as much AI slop out of my Firefox web browser as possible, is there information available on how to block AI features and results from my Firefox?

Hello Mozilla, How do I permanently remove Google Trending Search from Firefox? May I ask: Please do not make such changes without obvious explicit warning? This is a time consuming nightmare. Regards Andrew

With the latest update, some of the shortcuts that appear when I click on the address bar have changed. Now several of them are for websites that I don't use on a regular basis. Is there any way to remove them? Is there any way to add back shortcuts for sites that I do use on a regular basis?

Is it possible to add Dictionary.com to the Search bar so words entered there are searched at that site?

Previous versions of FF allowed me to map that site to that field.

Right now it's doing a google search for words.

My Firefox is not showing search suggestions/autocomplete when I search for a term in the search bar. First screenshot is what I see, second screenshot is from Chrome. Third screenshot is my settings.

I would like to continue using Firefox, but this is extremely infuriating.

Why do I have search results of pages inside my adress bar, that I almost never use?

This goes mainly for Reddit.com and Tagesschau.de, as im from germany this seems really strange?

The site mentioned is newssite (Tagesschau.de) controverial at best and I never use it. I have no idea why its there, in 1 year I probably got redirected to there without knowing twice.

So it cant be the most used sites iam on, especially if there is reddit too. I dont have an account and do not use the site. Since when does firefox has Ads in their adress bar?

What is this and how do I get rid of it? I doubt that it is one of the most used sites in germany, it cant be for alot of simple reasons. Age of the userbase does not fit with the Internet User group. 50% of the country does not like them (tagesschau page). Germany is in the IT Darkages except the tech savvy youth and generation 1980 to this day. This newsgroup is targeted towards an older generation and is still heavily invested in TV not the Internet. As it is statemedia its also highly out of touch with the current more internet focused generations, so I doubt that its because they generate traffic or anything else.

Is there a way do blank all search results on default? And I would really like to know how this page got there.

I have disabled AI according to the instructions given by Mozilla, under settings and AI controls. When I search, I still get the first result as an AI generated result. I want to disable that. I don't need AI's help to understand what I am looking for. I want an old school search without AI.

Is this possible? If not, could you please make it possible?
