My master synced desktop computer crashed. I finally got it working again. In the meantime, I logged into sync on a new iphone and none of my bookmarks from the master synced device showed up (probably because it was down). I have an ipad that has all those bookmarks from the master synced computer. How do I make the ipad the mast synced device, keeping all the bookmarks currently on it?

https://www.thisisanfield.com/ is showing me a version of itself that is 3 days old. (For example, right now, the main headline is a "preview" for a game that happened 3 days ago - see first image).

1. A new "private browsing" window shows the up-to-date version (second image)

2. If I clear all cookies related to this site (and the ad blocker is disabled), I get the up-to-date version once... and then when I reload, it goes back to the older version.

3. No such problem in Chrome.

PS I cleared the whole cache too, that didn't help.

recently ever since upgrading to Firefox Quantum i have noticed a huge RAM issue and after looming around forums for many months gathering different viewpoints on this problem i feel like the issue is most likely being caused by the new addon handling protocols, once you disable every single addon you will notice firefox uses about 80% less ram, the problem isnt that i have too many addons even with a single addon enabled the RAM usage dramatically increases i personally only use an adblocker and google translator very lightweight addons for any other version of firefox until it hits Quantum, and no i dont use 100 tabs in a single session... i normally use like 2-3 tabs and have only about 8 tabs only max, but if that doesn't convince you at mozilla that Quantum has horrible addon handling take this into your figures Quantum without addons idles on a fresh restart at about 400mb RAM usage but once you enable an addon that number jumps up to about 500-600mb and every addon enabled after that compounds the usage issue

this wasn't a problem with firefox until quantum was introduced, and from what i hear about the firefox quantum the addon handling was changed to disallow addons access to specific browser system files that some addons were using that caused firefox to crash,

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but “Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.” iv eliminated all the other probable causes and the changes to the addon handling is all that remains

Not even an exaggeration. It's only 9 pm and I've already submitted over 80 crashes for today alone.

For Hardware Acceleration, I've tried to disable and enable and disable it again with no change. I tried to read around and turned on "Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser" as well, hearing that some people have tried that with results. I do not have an actively scanning antivirus running, nor firewall. I had this issue before the upgrade to Quantum. I did a completely clean upgrade in hopes of fixing it, and I'm still having issues. Daily. It's been ongoing for several months at this point.

Until today the options for stopping videos auto playing worked OK, suddenly they don't work at all. I had changed all the settings in about:config - please see screen shot attached - a couple of weeks ago when they suddenly started auto playing and that solved the issue, but now I am back to square one. Even when I have ensured that the autoplay option is changed in the preferences section they are still auto-playing. Any suggestions please as this is driving me crazy!

Thanks in advance for your help. It is much appreciated.

Shift+Delete no longer works to remove these erroneous results. I've never heard of, used, visited, or wanted to visit "http://nycsubway.org/" or anything related to it, but now firefox's "awesome" bar sends me there instead of Netflix, which I use daily. I've turned off all the random suggestions for the address bar but these random, wrong, ads keep popping up. If I've never used it, and I'm not searching for it, putting it there must mean "http://nycsubway.org/" has paid you to be an annoyance in or lives. Or why else would you do this?!

Hi,

I get an Update notification & prompt (green arrow) in Firefox 63 every time I start it. I don't want to see it and I don't want to respond to the prompt. How do I do that? I have switched OFF all “app.update.auto” settings. It hasn't helped.

Secondly and more importantly, why have you REMOVED the "Never check for updates" option from Options? Its the most absurd and atrocious idea Firefox team has had. Do you want to become like all other commercial software vendors.

Would like to know who gave suggestion for the following brilliant idea? https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1420514

This SHOULD NOT be implemented else people will STOP using Firefox. Be AWARE and sure about it. Pls don't convert Firefox into commercial software.

Thanks Amal

We use IBM's iNotes product for internal e-mail. Within approximately the last eight weeks we've been encountering random carriage returns added to the messages we send when auto spell check is enabled. If we disable auto spell check or use a different browser (Google Chrome and Apple Safari was tested) the problem disappears. The problem seems to disappear for a short time if we clear the Firefox cache.

I've been working with IBM support regarding this problem and they're convinced the problem is related to Firefox. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thanks, Bob

Hello,

I have two versions of a software that can open files with the same extensions.

The problem is that when I go to forums and click on links to open example files, Firefox always uses my 'older' version of the installed program.

I'm trying to get it to use, by default, the more recent one.

In windows, through control panel I've chosen the default application version to use on the desired file extensions.

So by default Windows 'respects' this default, but FireFox doesn't. Is there something I can do to change what FireFox uses?

Firefox Version 63.0 (64-bit) Home build PC, 480GB SSD, 2 x 2TB HD's, 8GB Ram.

I have had problems with streaming Channel 4 TV UK for many years. I could only get it to work on Windows. Recently I have Dumped Window 10 - so slow - updates take all day. I now am using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (using Linux since 2009)

Channel 4 say they Do Not support Linux ?

I have tried to install Adobe Flash Player, but does not seam to work or download. On Ch 4 web page I pressed Allow, but say that I should install Flash Player !

Please could anyone advice me what I can do, or what I have done wrong.

Regards, Richard.

This problem occured on the latest firefox update on windows 10. I noticed that my CPU usage was high up when I had two tabs open with YouTube and a news site. I have an intel core i7 with eight threads and firefox used consistently 25% percent as reported by windows task manager. To find the problem I started firefox in safe mode, to make sure that it had nothing to do with my add-ons. In safe mode firefox still casued my laptop to overheat. I searched the internet for a solution and someone mentioned the accesibility services. Indeed, firefox has by default disabled the option "access to accesibility services is forbidden". So I toggled this option and since my problem has been solved, I wonder what would've caused this? What was firefox doing when this option was disabled? Perhaps more users are affected by this issue. I hope that I've given enough detail. I tried to look at about:memory, but I couldn't pinpoint the problem there.

I am running with ubuntu 18.04

I know, this is an ongoing thing. I also understand that there are, possibly, other programs that might interfere with Firefox always Asking to save logins and passwords for websites. I even understand why other password programs might consider Firefox to be a danger to the security of said passwords.

I, however, want Thunderbird to ask to save regardless of what another program or whatever thinks. Given the number of thoughts on this one I suspect that, eventually, you will figure out a way to simply write it in stone no matter what another program thinks.

I notice that there are command line options. As far as I can tell I can't tell Firefox, when starting, to make sure the Ask to save logins and passwords for websites is checked but could such a thing be possible? This would allow me to add a command line when I start firefox on startup. How about "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites = 1" or, say, add a line like that to the profile page? (that might even be better and then the profile file could become kindofa ini file for users.)

Thank you...............

Just a thought..............
