When I look in Task Manager > Startup, Firefox isn't there. When I go to Performance > Resource Monitor > Disk, it shows firefox.exe taking the top three lines when sorting by Read (B/sec). It's just grinding my computer and I'm not seeing how it's even starting up after logging into Windows.

How do I find out why firefox.exe is starting with Windows (login?), and how to stop it? I only use it intermittently for certain things. I don't need it running in the background just because I booted up or started Windows.

I have the latest (auto-updating) versions of Windows 10 Pro and Firefox.

Hello! In the last week or so, I have noticed that Firefox is extremely sluggish on certain websites, mostly Canva and SignWell. Additionally, I am having trouble accessing certain accounts. When I try to log in, the system is unresponsive, or I get an error message. However, when I switch to Chrome, everything works as expected. Please advise.

Thank you! Jill

I am using IANSEO (I@NSEO) to score and post archery competitions to Archery Canada. When exporting the results, several files are created. In order to forward them you tap once on the file(s) to download them to your local computer. Is there some option in Firefox preventing this from happening? It is only the *.exp file that will not download. I am currently using Firefox for Windows version 130.0 (64 bit) desktop.

Regarding the current state of Firefox and WebUSB, I have four thoughts:

  1. Yes, Mozilla's concerns regarding the security risks are valid, but not insurmountable.
  2. In my experience, this is the single W3C noncompliance that impedes my use of Firefox.
  3. In my experience, an increasing number of companies/organizations are leveraging WebUSB, from core-functionality of end-user hardware to enterprise-level troubleshooting, configuration, and support.
  4. If Mozilla permits the use of unsigned plugins for its Firefox Developer Edition because of the reasonable expectation that its users understand the risks, it stands to reason that the same could be said for WebUSB.

(There's no need to reply, really - this is only being publicly posted because there doesn't seem to be a way to do otherwise - I just wanted to go through the exercise of casting this message-in-a-bottle into the sea.)

When I receive an email in Outlook that contains a hyperlink, I am unable to use it. When I click onthe link, Firefox opens a new Window (even when one is already running). The only tab on the new window is my default tab. The original hyperlink does not open. (Windows 11 and Firefox all up to date).

1) It is fine if I use Edge or Chrome as my default browser. 2) I have disabled all add-ons, and restarted (and rebooted) Firefox. Same result.

I have searched the community/known issues atc but none seem to specifically show this sort of behaviour.

I cannot load duolingo webpage. Until yesterday, it loaded on my laptop without a problem. Now, when I go to this page, it is stuck in "loading." I can, however, load the page on Bing. I can also load it on Firefox on a DIFFERENT computer.

I can load all the other webpages that I have tried on my laptop on Firefox as usual. The only webpage that is not loading is Duolingo.

Thanks James Kern

Greetings, Firefox requires a huge amount of memory (and other associated resources), and each tab consumes much resources. The resource consumption is a big problem when a few tabs are needed to support research projects. How about spending more time improving the resource utilization as opposed to developing features? The resource utilization of Firefox is poor when compared to other browsers like Brave. However, I like Firefox the best from a features standpoint. So how about it? Please put some effort into making Firefox more resource friendly. One way to get free improvement is to immediately release resources for objects that are orphaned because the associated application has been closed. Lingering resources are a complete waste.

Thanks, Dan

I use Draftsharks.com for Fantasy Football. It has a "Live Sync" feature that connects Draftsharks.com to a Fantasy Football website, such as fantasy.espn.com, to sync information such as rosters, etc. Firefox has no issues with Draftsharks syncing with the website myffpc.com for this info but it will not sync with fantasy.espn.com. At the request of Draftsharks support, I used Chrome to try the same thing, and there were no issues in Chrome connecting Draftsharks to ESPN and performing a live sync. In Firefox settings, I put ESPN in the "Manage Exceptions" area, but it still didn't work when trying to sync Draftsharks with ESPN.

Firefox automatically updated to 130.0 on opening this morning. Since then, a site I use many hours every day will not display any images that are essential to my research.

Image attached of the blank page I see instead of an image of a 19th century church register. Sample URL: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L993-ZP26

Images display correctly in a private window and on Chrome; they do not display in troubleshooting mode.

the past 4 producers have told me they cant hear me on google video chat (https://meet.google.com/) i'm on firefox. it worked fine forever, then no one could hear me and i reported it a bunch to google and firefox because it was clearly a firefox issue. someone on their end fixed it. it was working for a while. now its back to people not being able to hear me again when its not a me problem. i keep reporting it and its not being fixed. how do i escalate this? why does this keep having every few months?

zero issues on google chrome browser while video chatting. zero issues on zoom. its firefox's google videochat that people cant hear me. feels like a repeat issue of what happened months ago when the issue wasnt with me. please fix this again

Ever since the last big update, there have been at least 2 dozen videos that I can't load in Firefox that immediately load in Chrome. I've had to start using Chrome (which I really don't like) for all of my classes that are video based because the videos aren't loading in Firefox. Does anyone else have this problem? What can I do to watch videos in Firefox?
