A msg box comes up that says go to setting to enable the ability to highligh pdf's. I went to settings and did not find. this box comes in the upper right hand corner. I am usually working in PAGES. jhelp if you can. Thank you.

Every time I open a file that is downloaded the box showing info on the highlight tool comes up and then I have to hover over it and hit escape............I do not want it to open at all so how do I stop it..............

Since the update I am unable to view pdf within xero and actionstep. These are important programs I require the viewing of the pdf for my employment. Can you let me know if there is a new setting that requires activation or if there has been a change. I have attached an image for you to see that it does not load.

Recently, whenever I open saved (or sometimes new web) documents in Firefox, a very large pop-up on the lower right side of my screen appears with a cartoon of a pencil scanning a document. Below the cartoon it states "Now you can highlight your PDFs! With our new highlighter tool, you can read and edit PDFs in one place." The pop-up blocks half the view of the document and cannot be minimized or closed. It also prevents accessing (it hides) the "print" option if I want to print/save the page. I have WINDOWS 11 and have looked online for solutions to this problem which always produces the same suggestion: "go to 'settings', click 'privacy & security', check 'block pop-ups', click 'OK'", all of which I've done. I now limit my use of Firefox to streaming videos via amazon, and use Chrome or Edge for anything else I need to do, but I assume Firefox would not be happy to know of the aggravation their browser is causing, forcing users to go elsewhere (or am I the only person having this problem). Hi, when I work in Xero, the pdf documents will not open. Firefox is up to date and I have wiped all cookied and history. Is there anything else I need to do please?

Your browser needs immediate attention! I have windows 11. When I visit websites via Firefox and click on a link that takes me to a document, a large pop-up on the lower right side of the screen appears blocking half the page and preventing me from downloading or printing it. The pop-up depicts a cartoon-letter with a highlighter pen traversing its cartoon-text, below which is an enthusiastic missive stating (and I quote): "Now you can highlight your PDFs! With our new highlighter tool, you can read and edit PDFs in one place." Because of this infernal nuisance, I cannot print or download web pages. This has been going on for WEEKS! (That pop-up is USEFUL?! Who thinx up this stuff??!!) Apparently you're having trouble fixing this problem ... I understand--I'll just use Edge or Chrome from now on. Sorry if I woke you.

Every time I try to view a pdf file on Firefox I can view the file but in the lower right 1/4 of the screen I get a graphic of a page with shaded areas representing lines with writing on them. There is a type of pen cursor moving along the line.

This happens with different pdfs - from the internet and from my saved files. This doesn't happen on another computer with Firefox.

I've deleted and redownloaded Firefox an number of times, also tried troubleshoot mode - no improvement. Virus scanned, restarted a number of times.

Pdfs work on edge and chrome and reader with no problem.

When viewing a PDF, I selected some text, right clicked and chose the "Highlight Selection". The selected text was not highlighted. Instead, the "highlight" button on the top right corner pop up and the freehand highlight was triggered, while all my previous selection was lost.

I image this was not the intention of the "highlight selection", and I was also wondering if there is a shortcut for highlighting text in pdf.

I use Xero accounting software and used to be able to view pdf within the software up until the recent update. Now it just sits with a spinning wheel. I've found that if I change the setting within Firefox to open the pdf within Firefox the issue is fixed in Xero. But then all pdf's open in Firefox instead of the usual Adobe. This breaks other workflows within my organisation as I need to email the pdf straight away when I download it, so my Windows was set with Adobe as the default for opening pdf's but now Firefox has taken that over. There does not appear to be any way to email the pdf from Firefox other than to save it and then find the file and email it from there which is very time consuming. I don't know what has changed in Firefox, but please can you fix it. I see I'm not the only person with this issue.

So I download the latest update of Firefox. New feature: Edit PDF's in Firefox. Sounds great.

Click on the Try it Now link ... downloads PDF to computer. What? What happened to Edit in Firefox? What am I doing wrong?

How do I get the PDF viewer to work again? For years I have used the setting "save" to automatically download. Now I am unable to view them without going in and changing the settings to "open in firefox". I would like to continue to use the save setting without having to constantly change this back and forth. When I click to open the file, all it does it grey out.

I have a PDF that opens and displays correctly in Adobe as well as the Edge Browser.

However, when I attempt to open it in Firefox in Windows 11 it doesn't show the letter "i" - - - I swear I'm not making it up. I had a friend try to open it in her Firefox (Windows 10) the letter "i" is also missing.

I wish I could attach the actual PDF so others can test but I will add a screenshot to this message.

I am using Firefox version 136.0.1 and we have multiple PDFs that are password protected (please see attached screenshot from Adobe Acrobat).

When the PDFs are opened in Firefox, it allows the user to add annotation/text/draw which we do not want to happen hence we added restrictions to the PDF. It seems to me that Firefox does not respect the security added to the file. How can I restrict annotations to the PDF or at least require password when the user tries to add text to it?

In Firefox, recently I am unable to download pdf documents. I get the message "download failed". If I request the same download using Chrome, I get the download immediately. But Firefox is my default browser and it's a nuisance. This only started in the past month or so.

There is an issue with PDFs downloaded using the Firefox PDF viewer. The PDF contains a valid digital signature. When I set the parameter pdfjs.disabled = true, everything works as expected, the PDF is downloaded correctly, and when I open it with Adobe Reader, the signature is valid. However, when I set this parameter to false (default value) and download the PDF using the built-in Firefox PDF viewer, the signature becomes invalid.
