When I uncheck the option "allow pages to use their own colors..." in preferences, and view a PDF using the built-in viewer, all text in PDF documents appears to be printed twice with the default color (usually black) then printed again with my preferred color slightly shifted giving the appearance of all the text having shadows. I usually set my color preferences for pages to have a black background and a light gray text. This may be a bug.

Since Firefox 38 (not sure, might be also since 37) the native Firefox PDF Viewer pdfjs display only white text in all PDF files I open. I checked in about:config and I have the same default settings there like a colleague who has it working fine.

If I set pdfjs.disableFontFace to true it works on some PDF files but for example not on files which I generate with FPDF (nothing changed on the generation code). The font used in FPDF is Arial, so no problem there.

Any ideas?

Can a link to a specific page inside of a PDF be used with FireFox's native reader? I seem to be taken to the wrong page whenever accessing a link of this sort.

For some reason, even though it's set to do so in settings, I cannot view PDF files in Firefox, only download them.

Has this happened to anyone else?

The scrollbar is not visible in the PDF viewer. It is when I click on the right side of the window, but it's always a blind attempt since I cannot see where it is and therefore I loose the page I was reading. I have just updated to 62.0 but the issue is still there. I use Ubuntu 18.04.1.

The PDF in question has text which is filled in through code in .Net, there is no code that alters the orientation of the text. This PDF is showing okay in other browsers like Chrome, IE and also in Adobe PDF Reader.

Everytime I restart my PC I have to reselect the option to view PDFs on browser. Otherwise, it will start downloading PDFs. Kindly fix this problem with a new update.

Basically, if a PDF file has italics, they print out bold. If I print to a file and reopen it in firefox, it also appears bold and not italic on the screen.

I read a similar post where a user had the same issue, but their solution seemed to be "open in Adobe Reader," which seems like a lame solution.. Their complaint was that the extra step is annoying, and I agree. When I download a PDF file or open one from Firefox, I should be able to do so within the browser. I can do it chrome, but I prefer not to use chrome.

I tried to attach screen shots of the page as it is supposed to be and how it actually prints, but the "Uploaded images:" box just keeps spinning. If anyone can help and would like to see what my issue actually looks like, I can sent you a picture somehow, I'm sure.

Hi, I'm currently running version 63.0.1 , something has changed with my browser, previously when I clicked on a pdf file it would automatically open within the firefox browser. It's rather frustrating to me as a user of this great browser when a pdf file attempts to open using something other than firefox. I feel sure there MUST be some method to correct this issue. So I'm trying to change my default PDF viewer to Mozilla, but it won't change from Edge to Mozilla. I have set these settings "Preview in Mozilla". Also, if I try to change my default PDF viewer in Windows, it won't even let me change to Mozilla, it just pop backs to Microsoft Edge. However, if I try to set my default PDF viewer to Adobe or anything other than that, that totally works fine.

What I need is that when starting a pdf, it appears automatically in fullscreen (=presentation) mode instead of showing the toolbar above. In former versions of Firefox it was possible to install a Plugin called "Nitro pdf" which enabled pdf documents to be started in fullscreen mode immediately after using the F11 button. Is there a similar function available with pdf.js or an alternative solution with "regedit"?

I have a particular PDF (an invoice of sorts) that displays information regarding one company under version 71.0 (and below), but then displays information regarding a different company under version 72.0.2 (and above). It's as if there are two similar documents layered within the same file, but which 'document' is visible depends on which version of Firefox you're running...!? Aside from trying to understand the PDF, itself, can anyone explain how these versions of Firefox differ, in their own handling of PDFs? Something changed between the two releases.

I updated to FF 73.0.1 a couple days ago and now when I navigate to a PDF file, it no longer will Preview in Firefox. Instead, it goes to the Save File option.

I've tried setting it in the Options/Applications and all the other choices work fine except the Preview in Firefox.

I have a website I use for sharing documentation. Some of these are in the form of manuals and I have no problem with these, they open in the browser as required. Others are portfolios which contain many different pdf forms. Up until the last update these opened the portfolio and clicking on a particular form link opened the form in a new browser tab. Since the update the portfolio opens but the forms do not.

When I look at the developer console I see the following error message: Error: Access to 'blob:resource://pdf.js/6c1fbe42-b5ba-48af-89a3-efb4fc5ee161?CRW%2002%20-%20Course%20Summary%20and%20Assessment%20Form.pdf' from script denied 3 viewer.js:4510:14

Is there a solution?

I've uploaded a few PDFs to my company's website, but when I open the PDFs in Firefox they display and print incorrectly (with elements of my company logo in weird places). If I open the PDFs in Chrome, they display and print perfectly. My designer can't find any hidden layers in the PDF, so that's not the problem.

I always used Firefox as PDF-Viewer and it worked fine. But since the last update it is not possible to view PDF-files anymore: whenever I click on a PDF or a link to a PDF - Firefox creates new tabs endlessly. When I quit Firefox and restart it I have lots of new and empty tabs in the browser, but no PDF. It's very annoying because I have to close them all manually and can't view PDFs anymore.

I have not installed any new software, no registry hacks, have changed nothing in the browsers config, so I suppose it has something to do with the update to 76.0.1

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

When trying to print a PDF in Landscape format, Firefox turns the page itself, but not the content. The problem happens with multiple versions of Firefox, and I couldn't find a thread describing the same problem. Is there any known way of fixing the issue? (I attached an image of what happens below)

I have a web page with a link to a PDF on it. When I click on this link, the PDF opens in a new tab using the Adobe viewer, and displays fine. However, links within the PDF itself are ignored. When I view the same web page in Chrome or IE, the PDF also opens in a viewer, but under these browsers, the links within the PDF itself work as well. Is there any setting or adjustment I can make to Firefox or its PDF viewer to make the links within the PDF work? Thanks for any help. WJH
