I have an older laptop and got a new one. I have installed Firefox 89.0 on both machines. I want to migrate all of the Firefox data from the old one to the new one. I have copied the Profile from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles to a thumb drive. I believe this to be all that I need to move to the new machine. The problem is that I don't know where to put it on the new machine.

I understand that Firefox must be closed when I modify the new machine. I also discovered that there is a Profile.ini file that has a pointer to the filename that Firefox will use when it is opened. Do I have to modify this file as well?

Perhaps I am on the wrong track and need to be redirected. If so, please point me to an article or wiki that will put me on the right one.

Firefox opens in a small box at the top left of the computer screen about 1/9 the size of the viewing area. I have to click on the "maximize" icon (the square box(es)twice to get a normal viewing screen. Note: I am not referring to "full screen." This began after the last Firefox update. I have cleared the cache, cookies, data, etc. and startup cache and restarted Firefox and the computer. I haven't "Refreshed" Firefox, yet, because I don't want to go through the hassle of putting everything back together if it isn't going to work. How do I get Firefox to open in a "maximized" window?

For some unknown reason, my default fonts are not appearing correctly in Firefox. Here are the things I've tried:

1. I've checked the same sites with Edge and Chrome. 2. I checked the "Fonts and Colors" section of Firefox - both the regular and Advanced parts. 3. I've done the Firefox reset (I can't remember what it's actually called). 4. I've uninstalled/reinstalled. 5. I've deleted the Mozilla folder from my %AppData% folder. 6. I've signed out and uninstalled/reinstalled. 7. I've disabled all extensions and plugins. 8. I've made sure I have the newest version.

The only time it works correctly is when I run Firefox in Troubleshooting mode.

Hi. I've noticed similar messages like this after previous Firefox upgrades, but not for the latest.

My Firefox ESR was automatically updated to 78.11 on June 1, 2021. Since then I have not been able to access Amazon Prime. The error says:

Your web browser is missing a digital rights component.

In your web browser’s address bar, type about:addons, press Enter, and then on the left, click Plugins. For the Widevine Content Decryption Module, select Always Activate, and then refresh the video’s page and try watching the video. If the video doesn’t play, go back to Plugins, click the gear icon at the top of the page, and then click Check for Updates. When the plugins have updated, refresh the video’s page, and then try watching the video.

The suggestions get me no where. It is already on "Always Activate" and newer updates are available.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a early version, but this does not work either. I get a message at the top saying that "Firefox is installing components needed to plate the audio or video on this page. Please try again later." "Later" is apparently never.

Has any else had this issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I posted a question re menu bar colours and received a reply but now I cannot find my original question to continue the conversation. How do I do that? Help me please.

Hello ·´¯`·...¸>-)))º> ~dbben Thanks for reply. I see the 'simple themes' box but it doesn't give me what I want; ie there is still no option to colour in the menu bar. The options displayed under 'more themes' completely baffles me. What are they supposed to do? I dare not select one (even if I could see how) in case I cannot return to the theme I have at the moment. Neither is there any indication that I can see that tells me which theme is currently set. Hallo

keyword.enabled habe ich auf false gestellt.

Vielen Dank und Gruß Robert robert.jordan@gmx.at

Whoever thought Firefox 89 was a good idea is not someone with whom I agree. 89 is awful - I disregarded the update notice for days but then got sick of the reminder. BAD idea on my part. Is there any way to get rid of the topmost "tab" - they ARE NOT tabs - bar? I really liked the previous tabs that LOOKED LIKE TABS and DID NOT TAKE UP MORE ROOM on the page. Can I go back to the previous version? This one is really bad. Like, REALLY bad. Firefox "developers" need to give an option to check out the new update before committing to it.

How can I restore the old style of highlighting text--grey background behind black text? It's being highlighted, but I can't see it. Happening with Firefox and Thunderbird.

This happened when I more-or-less simultaneously updated to macOS Mojave (10.14.6}, Firefox 89, and is also happening with Thunderbird (but I can't tie it to any specific update).

Is this an issue with Firefox and Thunderbird, or with Mojave?

Update 89.0 changed the browser theme to something I don't like, too pale and pastel. Options to change back to what I had aren't available. The options presented are now uglier than this sick looking theme.

How do I undo 89.0 update? Pretty much looks like (from release notes on another post) 89.0 has nothing at all to do with security and it's just someone at Firefox wanting to change things just for the sake of changing things.

I hope Firefox isn't going to start doing silly things like moving the first floor to the second floor and the second floor to the first floor just because some administrator feels like it.
