I confer with the first comment, you lovely people have helped me so many times...I desperately need to monitor my emails, I WAS using the red flag method, can you suggest an alternative solution? I was self taught, now I am paying for it! There are several things I did initially, example, I have just learned how to make a NEW FOLDER, this year! Thanks so much in advance! Dear All

Sorry to pose this question once more but the provided solutions in the FAQ will not fix my problem. I am working on a Mac. Since yesterday I have troubles with most pages on firefox as they all come in a black background/white (or different color) font design.

I have already checked the preferences - these are as they should be (white background). I have also gone to "customize" and chosen "light". No change.

What else could I try? It started yesterday without a concious attempt on my side to change something. I could have hitten some wrong buttom but I would not know.

Many thx already for whovever kind soul is going to help me.

Kind regards Antoinette

The scroll wheel is not working in Firefox. It works in other programs, so it is not a problem with my mouse.

It just started today. I have cleared my data and cookies, and restarted Firefox. I have not installed any new extensions in months.

This is a serious usability issue. I will have to switch to another browser, that will allow the use of the scroll wheel.

Hello I was attempting to backup my c-drive documents to onedrive when my computer crashed. When I turned it back on I could no longer access any of the files I had attempted to back up on my C-drive (panic!). I looked online for advice and followed advice to unlink Onedrive and restart. I did this and managed to find my C-drive files (phew) but the whole of my desktop and browser history, passwords, bookmarks etc has been completely wiped. There is some really important things in there and I would really like to get it back. Any help much appreciated...I am not tech minded so any advice as simply put as possible please....

Thanks

I use Firefox on a Macbook.

I configured the search (about:preferences#search) to include only one search engine: DDG. As a result, when the URL/search bar is focused, the bottom bar with "This time, search with..." is not displayed. This is the expected behavior.

Starting about a month ago, it started exhibiting a bug: at random times, the search settings are getting reset. So whenever I open a new tab and focus the URL/search bar, the bottom bar with "This time, search with..." is appearing and displays four icons. When I go to search preferences, I see the same search engines that I removed a while ago.

This pattern has repeated about five times, and I'm getting tired of it. Is there a way I can make sure that Firefox remembers my preferences and doesn't reset them?

Thank you, Alex

Not sure this time.......you guys have helped me before, (thanks heaps...BTW) luckily I did my Banking before it crashed! groan.....my guy has no idea...('cos he's dyslexic) ... years ago he did a course, then left it up to me! It's to do with the fact that I didn't understand how to create/data into emails & such in the first place properly...now it's a big mess, plus for the life of me I couldn't remember how to fix up my emails, plus I had that problem of the long string of data that I have 'nursed' & that has now totally disappeared! Not very easy to explain, sorry! I had about 5 years worth, Hmmmmm... But I can't explain where my emails have gone! I do still have a few listed 'bookmarks' in alphabetical order but I don't know how to restore them, (she said hopefully)! I still cannot find out where the emails 'live'.....they seem to have located themselves into a new format! (Oh yeah, about 9 months ago I figured out how to insert a 'NEW FOLDER' ..lol... that really helped.) Sigh...this has taken me about 6 hours to sort out.....I am so very grateful, I hope this time who knows, I might get to flex my Wings!! LOL....SlimSylv.....Happy New Year to you all...Stay Safe......

In Firefox for Mac, when in fullscreen mode, moving the mouse curser to the top of the screen to show the menu bar covers the open tabs, address bar etc. I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug - in other browsers the tabs move down so that you can still click on them, which I much prefer.

Is there a way to have Firefox move the address bar etc out of the way when showing the menu bar in full screen?

I've attached a couple of screenshots to show the behaviour in Firefox compared to Brave browser (and I guess Chrome).

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, I saw a few similar posts but nothing with this exact issue.

Thanks!
