I am trying to serve a print view and redirect the user to the page they came from right after printing (or cancelling). This works fine in Chromium with the following bit of JavaScript code:

  function printPageAndRedirectTo(redirectUrl) {
   window.addEventListener("afterprint", function () {
       window.location.href = redirectUrl;
   });
   window.print();

In Firefox, however, nothing happens at all. Debugging shows that the callback is called, but the href field remains unchanged.

This is mysterious to me. Any ideas what the reason might be?

Firefox version is 84.0.2, Chromium 87.0.4280.88 (both from the Arch Linux repositories).

Edit:

Here's a fiddle to illustrate. Redirect to Wikipedia works in Chromium but not in Firefox: https://jsfiddle.net/xnazLb6p/1/

Edit 2:

Another one to show that the problem here is redirecting from the event listener, not redirecting itself: https://jsfiddle.net/xnazLb6p/2/

Greetings, I am trying to fill out a PDF form using Firefox's built in PDF viewer and form editor. I'm running Linux (Ubuntu) with Firefox 84. I am able to successfully view and "Open" the PDF within the browser, and even edit the text properly. However, upon saving or printing, the text gets rendered with a massive font size nullifying the ability to edit in browser. I've been trying to find some online resources without success, and can't seem to find others reporting a similar case.

I've disabled all extensions and restarted Firefox, but did not notice any change in behavior. Any tips for debugging? Attached are two pics of the PDF form while editing, and then the rendered PDF after saving.

I have a question, that's actually pretty simple:

Is there any information from Firefox Relay about, if an alias is re-assigned to another user after they have been deleted by the first user? Or is Relay making sure, that every alias is only used once if deleted. Otherwise you could try and to recover services and passwords from other's peoples services after they got deleted.

thanks!

How can I sign up for Mozilla (firefox) forum?

I have an account, but won't recognize my credentials. They ARE correct.

I try to set up a new account and the security question "how many letters in Mozilla" doesn't work. The answer is 7, but says it's wrong. WFT?

When Firefox asks if I want to download an update and I agree, soon after that but not right away it stops working - on every new page it says "we need to restart to finish updating" <- this last bit is VERY annoying. Is there a way to keep FF working in such situation? I usually have 3 FF profiles running, about 10-20 tabs each and when it suddenly does this - I can restart them all but when it is suitable for me.

The only solution I can see so far is disabling updates via group policies (which is not well documented, where do i put this policies.json on fedora? need to google that).

Any other ways to keep updates and FF running until I decide when to restart? Thanks.

Since the latest upgrade of FireFox 84, I have been having troubles with some websites like Disney + , Amazon Prime and playing videos from youtube Facebook and some other sites on both Windows and Linux. I believe I read that Firefor was going to stop using Adobe plugis or some kind of plugin. Like i said after it updated that is when the trouble started. MX19 (A LXDE distro based on antix which was originally a lightweight off shoot of Mepis) the build team do build new package when updates are released. I had to download and use Chrome (which I really hate) to watch these video and also use Doxy video service to talk to my Dr,s) Here is a typical screenshot TY

I find that my current version of Firefox browser (84.0.2 (64 bit)) seldom saves login details for websites that I regularly visit, despite my clicking the 'save' or ' update' buttons on the dialog box that appears when I log in manually. For example, I must have entered half a dozen or more details manually in the last and clicked the 'save' button on the dialog box tha appears but the 'login and password' menu item only shows two that have been saved that day.

I can find nothing that has had any effect in the present help topics.

Another annoying aspect is that help topics appear to prescribe 'fixes' that have no parallel in the details that appear on the actual browser menu items.

I apologise in advance to the relevant developers, but I am now questioning why I should persevere with such a 'buggy' app that used to perform beautifully in the past.

I have been having a problem with an auction site of which I have had an account for over 5 years. Recently pictures will not show for listings. When a new auction is listed, all pictures show on the page. However when I later return to the page several pictures will not show. Instead I get a broken pic/ image. After several days no pictures will show up. If I refresh Firefox, the pictures will all show, but then the next day they continue to decay. I have uninstalled/ installed Firefox yesterday 1/11/2020. However the same process occurs. Today I cannot view the pictures. I am using Norton 360 https://www.enlistedauctions.com/]

I am a medical professional and use an electronic medical record website to submit electronic prescriptions. On this particular website, I keep getting automatic downloads of coupons that open up a PDF on my Mac. How do I stop the website from doing automatic downloads? I don't have this issue on other websites. In Chrome, I don't have this issue and only get the download if I specifically click on the coupon link. The website customer support said it's an issue with Firefox, not their website. How do I at least stop getting my Mac to open up downloaded PDFs automatically?
