Hi, I'm using Firefox and Nightly both updated to latest versions on Feren OS (Linux). The drop downs, option menus, bookmarks etc. all have transparent background on Nightly. Stable version has black background and white text as it should be.

I've tried userChrome.css but it doesn't work. Changing font-sizes do work which proves that Nightly looks for this file at startup. I've tried changing background on these CSS elements:

  1. main-menubar menupopup
  2. PlacesToolbarItems menupopup > hbox

My OS details are: Operating System: Feren OS 2021.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.8.0-55-generic OS Type: 64-bit

Image is attacked for reference.

Videos make a crackling noise when I play them until I terminate some of the ChildID processes that are running in memory. I suspect that these processes have a problem syncing with PulseAudio on Linux Mint. Is there a workaround or do I have to fix it?

According to this site: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/hyphens the Greek language is not included in the hyphenation support. Since hyphenation rules for Greek exist (for example in LibreOffice) is it so difficult to add Greek to the supported languages? Is there something that needs to be done from some Greek user? If yes could you direct me to what must be done to see if I can do it or find someone to do it (if I can't)?

thank you.

Using Firefox default screen for Linux, how do I prevent search characters from being automatically entered on address bar when typing search characters on search bar. I only want search letters entered on search bar. I like to search with search bar only, not address bar. Is there a way to fix that or is it just something you have to live with?

I'm old school. My new tab and home page are my own. Sadly there has been a recent regression with respect to Containers with Firefox 89.0.1. I've been using Firefox Multi-Account Containers for a very long time. I've been using 7.3.0 since January. It seems no matter what I do it is now h*ll bent on prompting what container I want to open my home page in. It doesn't matter how many times I tell it not to do this on the "Open this site in your assigned container?" in the most recent version of Firefox all buttons related to opening in the Default container do not appear. I can tell it to "Remember my decision for this site" and open in the current container but that does nothing. It's right back to the prompting every time I open a tab. Has anyone found a way to end this extraneous prompting?

Hi, Firefox update is so Microsoft-ish. Not only that it is forced on you (without any info) BUT it also deletes the last tab you tried to open. Why the last tab (the one in which restart button is open) is lost? WHY? it is a F*ck You message to all users.

case: -you click on link and instead of wished tab the restart tab is open -you restart the browser -there is no info of last tab tried to open

no way that this must work like this!!! if you after restart can reopen all other tabs you can reopen the tab that was used to force restart. thnx dj

I am using Firefox-ESR on my Kali linux distro. I am unable to load any webpages on Firefox but other browsers can load. I tried all the steps like clearing every history, cache, etc. I have even reinstalled several times but it is only loads for 2-3 seconds and shows a white blank page and nothing else. I have gone through your tutorial of "Firefox can't load but other browsers can" but it is not helping. There is no problem of proxy either.

Edit Update : I need the Firefox-ESR installed as default. I downloaded new version Firefox-ESR=78.11.0esr from Firefox download page and it loads webpages. But the latest Firefox downloaded from apt is Firefox-ESR=78.10.0esr. I cannot update Firefox as new downloaded version has executable file name as 'firefox' but default has executable file as 'firefox-esr' in '/usr/lib'. I have two different versions of Firefox-ESR installed now because of the installation procedure given in Firefox install tutorial page. I am also not able to find the new version browser in 'x-www-browser' in 'update-alternatives' to set it as default. I want the Firefox installed with all features as default one. I think I have not installed new version of Firefox-ESR correctly. I just want to update Firefox but not to install another version of it. Thank you.

I'm trying to setup different profiles for simultaneous use (Work, Personal, Study, etc) on the same Firefox Account since I want to take advantage of the sync feature for Linux/Windows dual boot.

But I am having an issue where opening a different profile where one is already open 'bleeds', or merges, their bookmarks and themes (and probably other stuff but those are the immediately visible). The bookmarks I save in one appear in the other

I read these related issues:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1184891 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1262935

and added the -no-remote flag, and indeed I get a dialogue screen to select the profile I want, but this merge keeps happening and I don't know why.

The console command I use to launch firefox is

nohup firefox -no-remote > /dev/null 2>&1 &1>/dev/null &'

and all my profile directories are located in: root directory: `/home/user/.cache/mozilla/firefox/` local directory: `/home/user/.mozilla/firefox/` in different directories with their own names.

What I am looking for, is being able to open different instances of the browser with different profiles simultaneously, and each of them having their own bookmarks/history/etc, while also syncing those so when I change the boot to Windows.

I am trying this on Linux (Lubuntu) Any help will be appreciated.

Laptop 1 has bookmark //a.html Laptop 2 has bookmark //b.html Both devices log in with bookmark sync turned on.

Q1. Do both devices now have bookmarks a and b?

Q2. Laptop 1 deletes bookmark a. Does that delete bookmark a from device 2?

Q3. Laptop 1 adds //c.html. Does that add c to device 2?

It would be very nice if mozilla would officially explain what happens when bookmarks are synced. Just saying that they are synchronized does not explain what happens. Synchronization can be accomplished in multiple ways.
