Clicking on the "File" choice on an open file in the Internet Explorer produces a drop-down menu containing a 'Send to" choice which can be used to send an icon for that file to the desktop. Now, where is the equivalent feature in Mozilla's Firefox? This, of course, presumes that they do have one!

I just installed Mozilla/Firefox on my computer and I use it for access to everything. My wife has been using IE (me before also) but am having a problem accessing a game on Face Book. My question: Can she also use Mozilla for her Face Book or will my Face Book open when she clicks on the icon?

Sometimes I need to really dig deeö in the history to find what I had forgotten I had, and ehen I find it, I nne that double click to open a tab just like I open every other tab - in a new one. Instead, "history" opens it up in the current ues one.

I understand the basic concepts of tracking protection but I've been unable to find answers to a few specific questions. I found some documentation here in the questions / answers section but it didn't provide all the answers.

1. Do I need to clear existing cookies to remove the myriad of sites already tracking me before turning on tracking protection? Or, will turning it on do an immediate filter on my existing cookies?

2. Will turning off tracking stop sites that I want to retain login information for from retaining the "login" cookie infor i.e. are we close to a full "cookie block" with anti-tracking? Or does FFox have some creative algorithm (or list) that allows it to distinguish between tracking cookies and less offensive cookies? Concurrently, is there a way to allow a "tracking cookie" if I need it to retain information for a site I'm comfortable with?

3. One specific tracking question: Will eliminating tracking cookies stop (specifically) Google's cross site advertising, where you look at a product on site A (who shares that info via google) and then a little later google's advertising mechanism pops up those products when you're at site B?

Every time I open a new tab, I get this popup at the bottom of the page saying Browse By Yourself. I keep closing it with the X at the top right, but it just keeps coming up.

How can I stop this? There should be an option to stop sending the info/"Got it" or whatever.

Thanks.

I've had Firefox "armored" for a while - Ublock to block adds, Ghostery to block trackers and other things, Cookiebro to control who installs information on my computer. The latest Firefox (63.0) now also has tracking protection. I've mostly been happy with the first three - is Firefox's new tracking protection overkill?? Maybe too much of a good thing, and if so which one should I get rid of??

Any suggestions? thnx,...

I've researched the net and every "solution" that has been offered fails to work.

I'd like the awesome bar (address bar) not to remember or suggest anything and if by chance it does remember something I want CCleaner to be able to delete the entries.

This is a deal breaker. If I can't protect my privacy using Firefox I'll find another browser. I am a longtime Firefox user and want to stay with Firefox.

Is it possible to remove the preview? (There no such thing like browser.ctrlTab.previews in about:config) Or why I need to press Enter?

Hi.

I was looking how to restore the old ctrl+tab behavior and found https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1241201#answer-1174594 . This answered my first half of the question.

However, I do find the new ctrl+tab behavior useful, however not as a replacement of the old behavior, but as an additional feature.

Is there any way I can have ctrl+tab/ctrl+shift+tab behave in the old way, while binding a custom keybinding to the new recently used order tab behavior? (say, e.g. binding it to win+tab)

Does Firefox provide a built in way to block keyboard and mouse tracking being used in ways that allows a user profile to be built. For example, blocking Google instant, where data goes back to Google as each character is entered into the field. Or user profiling based on typing cadence. There needs to be an ability to block the browser from sending data without an explicit user action. I.e. clicking the search button. But disallow letter by letter tracking and mouse location tracking.
