Hello. 1st post here. I'm using Firefox on a Windows 10 machine, & try to be diligent about not downloading content from insecure sources, using Malwarebytes, not clicking on questionable links, etc

So, I was surprised to see that Firefox.exe points to Softonic.com when I looked at "Resource Monitor" inside of the Administrative Tools app.

A separate machine, also logged into the same Firefox & Windows accounts, but which only runs 32-bit Win 10, doesn't point to Softonic.com.

Is this an issue to worry about, and if so, suggested actions to fit it?

Thanks.

I think my Firefox updated, and now there is a feature where any "insecure" sites now have all the media blocked on it. When I click "Disable protection for now," it does nothing and I have no way to unblock any of it. I am literally just trying to read the TF2 comics, which I know are on a safe website (and even if they weren't, I have antivirus software that protects my computer just fine), but because of this "mixed content" block I literally can't see anything but a white page. I've searched settings for a way to permanently disable this protection, but I haven't found anything.

I have several folders set up in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder, so they display nicely on the toolbar. However lately they stopped working - if I click it once after starting Firefox, it'll open. But if I try to click a second time, it no longer opens, and just remains in a "highlighted" state. Any reason why it's happening? In the screenshot you can see what it looks like after the "Current" folder is clicked.

The folders are accessible fine if I go to Bookmarks menu item and navigate from there.

Why was there NO WARNING FROM FIREFOX THAT I WASN'T GOING TO BE "ALLOWED" TO SEE MY OWN PASSWORDS STORED BY FIREFOX. Suddenly today in order to see my saved passwords I have to enter my Firefox password. I just changed my password successfully a half hour ago and I can use it to sign in here but when I enter the same password to see my saved passwords it doesn't work.

I stupidly relied on Firefox to have my passwords available to me but now I can't see them and so I'm locked out of EVERY ONLINE SITE I VISIT (over 50 sites). THANKS FOR NOTHING FIREFOX for screwing up my life. HOW CAN I GET ACCESS TO ALL MY PASSWORDS that UNTIL TODAY I could see. This is insane.

My PC often crashes. It looks like the issue comes from RAM exhaustion.

I have reduced the parameter "Nombre maximum de processus de contenu" from 8 (default) to 6 -> my PC still crashes with the same error.

I have tried deactivating modules, safe mode, uninstall, reinstall... -> quite similar

How can I check and improve firefox RAM usage?

As the image shows, this webpage has a white "border" on the left and top of the content area. The page was generated by Excel. I was working on it when the "mouse" grabbed it and dragged it. After that the white borders were there and nothing I do gets rid of it. There is another Excel generated webpage that now also shows the same. These are the only pages it happens with, and neither did it before the content of the one got dragged. What can I do to correct this?

So the problem is that Firefox doesn't play any HTML5 content. Weirdly except for Youtube. Youtube works just fine. But every other Website shows errors. Even songsterr.com. I'm using latest Firefox 76.0.1 on a recent Ubuntu 20. 04 LTS installation. Usual troubleshooting like updates doesnt work because "sudo apt-get upgrade" doesn't find any updates. I tried the same websites in the latest version of Chromium and they work perfectly fine. I couldn't find a mistake in the firefox settings or something so I'm confused. Disabling Plugins didn't change anything and turning of tracking protection didn't either. What is the Problem here and how can I solve it?

Hello- Please clarify the article "Multi-Account Containers" https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers#w_open-links-in-new-tabs-and-containers . Number 4 in the section "What you can do with Multi-Account Containers" says that you can "Assign a website to a container, so that a specific website will always open in a specific container." The article doesn't describe how, and it's not obvious to me. Please describe specifically how to do this. Thanks!

Hello, everyone. My Firefox (v76.0.1, Windows 10 Pro 1909) can't access the English Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org) and some other sites I need to work with. This started happening suddenly Tuesday night.

This is the error (in English, since my Firefox is in Brazilian Portuguese):

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to en.wikipedia.org. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

upload.wikimedia.org gives me the same error. The bizarre thing is that Wikipedias in other languages seem to work normally. Other browsers work fine.

Searching it online, it doesn't seem to be a common problem, and it just started happening by itself. I don't remember installing anything on this PC that day. My only antivirus is Windows Defender. I don't use any VPNs.

Tried all solutions I could find on Google. So far I did:

  • Ctrl + F5
  • Edited the hosts file
  • Deleted cert8.db
  • Changed network proxy settings to No proxy and Automatically detect proxy configuration (was in Use system settings)
  • Toggled DNS over HTTPS
  • Went in about:config and toggled network.dns.disableIPv6
  • Started Firefox in Safe Mode
  • Backed up the profile folder and just let Firefox create a new one
  • Rebooted my router

None of that worked.

I work with site builder platforms and since yesterday the error is starting to creep up in those servers, too.

Any ideas? I just noticed that Wikipedia search is gone from the list of opensearch engines also… This is getting increasingly bizarre…

I'll be browsing a website, and with no rhyme or reason Firefox (on Windows PC) will decide that this website no longer exists and is no longer available, even the page I was on 2 minutes prior is no longer available (it even tried telling me that mozilla.org no longer existed). But the same site continues to work fine on the Firefox on my Android device.

The sites eventually "come back", but it's not very productive for a site to "disappear" in the middle of something.
