By using the last version of Firefox (74.0) when visiting a website with security connection I got the following error : "Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to .............. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem." With the previous versions of Firefox there was no such problem and I could visit the above website. So, please inform me what happened with ver. 74.0 ? By ver. 74.0 is no more supported some older security protocols which might have the above website, or this is a bug by the new ver. 74.0 ? Please inform me how this issue can be fixed ?

I want to enable pop-ups within my company e.g. widgets.com My company has many individual websites e.g. https://text.widgets.com, https://slider.widgets.com, https://frob.corp.widgets.com It becomes tiresome to have to white-list each of them in the "Allowed Websites - Pop-ups" configuration. Is there a way to enable all of websites in a domain with a single configuration specification? Including subdomain sites? Perhaps via something akin to (regex) https://.*\.widgets\.com

Firefox-Version: 74.0 (64-Bit) Operating system: Xubuntu 18.04

I want to participate in meetings with Teamviewer or in https://meet.jit.si. I want to enable my mike in the browser for that purpose.

I read the hint

https://support.mozilla.org/en…ng-microphone-permissions

but that does not work for me: After entering the URL into the dialogue,e.g.. https://meet.jit.si I am supposed to press ENTER. But then nothing happens!

I expect the entered URL to be added to the list below after pressing ENTER (this list was empty before in my case).

When I want to participate in such a meeting, I get a question whether I would allow the microphone to be used. Even if I allow it, meet.jit.si tells me that it could not use the microphone for an unspecified reason.

In the browser when trying to use such a connection, to the left of the URL there is a closed lock symbol and a red microphone symbol.

I have checked if the microphone works: I can record something with it using Audacity and if I activate the Pulseaudio-volume control I see a level indicator which reacts on sound heard by my microphone.

What must I do to enable the microphone for TeamViewer or other net meetings?

The sites on which this is occurring include those with multiple, frequently refreshing ads and other content: BBC News, Discover Magazine blogs, Boston Globe newspaper. Over a fairly short time, e.g., 20 minutes or so, physical memory usage as reported by Task Manager climbs to over 95%. Closing the tab for the offending web site almost always immediately drops memory usage to under 40%. If that fails, closing and then reopening Firefox fixes the problem. Please note that this did not occur with the previously installed version. I have Firefox set to automatically update.

Since we switched to a new company portal ("intranet"), I can no longer use Firefox to access it. Chrome and Internet Exploder both work fine (on the very same machine, same network, etc!).

The error message I get is:

An error occurred during a connection to <hostname>. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

Somehow this sounds like a certificate verification problem, but if that was really a problem, Firefox wouldn't continue starting the TLS handshake, right? But it does...

I used Wireshark to do network traces, and I can see that after the initial "client hello" the portal web server resets the connection. When I compared the snoop to one captured for Chrome, I noticed that the "client hello" Firefox sends uses a "TLSv1 Record Layer" in the "Client Hello," while Chrome uses a "TLSv1.2 Record Layer" in the "Client Hello."

I set "security.tls.version.min" to "2" already, but that didn't help.

I later also noticed that Chrome offers two TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_xxx_GCM_SHAxxx crypto suites, while Firefox doesn't.

My guess is that one of the above observations is likely the reason why Firefox can't connect.

Does that sound plausible to you? Why the difference in the TLS record layer? Why doesn't Firefox the above cypto suites? Are they considered insecure?

(Before you ask, unfortunately I can't give the host name to our portal, sorry.)

Many thanks for your help, this is really annoying me...

Kr,

Ralf

If I type in the URL for Twitter or Gmail and press enter, the address bar simply goes back to whatever was in there before. This is whether I do it in a tab or a new page. BBC News is fine. Facebook is fine. Gmail and Twitter were pinned as tabs before the update. Other tabs are broken in the same way, e.g. Google Photos, but Google Calendar and Google Drive tabs are fine. Please help!

I'm new to Video Downloader but I seem to be having a problem with the downloads. On one occasion only I got a list up showing what I had downloaded which was great. I have no idea where that list might now be hiding or how to find it. I have selected Downloads as the place where they should all go. Today I downloaded a couple of things and when I came to play them (from Downloads) I got the titles which then disappeared immediately and then nothing else. I use Firefox browser to download. Can someone help?

I have no idea what state is on file as being my state of residence (I move a lot for a civilian), but I've lived at this address for the last three or four years and never had any issue with logging in to my firefox account before. I have plenty of trouble with my location WITHIN the state (Oklahoma), because apparently the only cities that exist in the state are OKC and Tulsa /eyeroll, but I've never had an issue with the state itself being misidentified. I could understand if a VPN was causing the issue, but I'm not using a VPN (I know, I probably should, but imagine the login issue THEN! lol). Thanks in advance for any help.

I have returned to Firefox after a long hiatus. I imported my bookmarks from Chrome and recreated the bookmarks toolbar. After clicking on each one, most of them populate with their favicon, but a few do not. Any idea why? The icons do appear on the tab. This is a brand new installation so I can't imagine that clearing the cache would help.
