within two hours I get a notification from avg that Firefox is using anywhere from 200 MB to 450MB of memory. I have closed the browser occasionally, wait a minute or two then reopen Firefox. Sometimes I won't see the avg notification for a couple days, others it's back within an hour or two.

I have the newest firefox, but my about:addons page won't load. When I surf to that page, all I get is an endless "loading" dialogue. Pushing tabs (get/appearance/plugins) does absolutely nothing but continue the endless "loading" problem.

When I was using Firefox 3.x, I configured it to clear the list of downloaded files at exit. Now, I've "upgraded" to Firefox 7.0.1 and it's stopped doing it. Not only that, there doesn't seem to be a way to get that functionality back. Is there some setting I've missed, or have the Firefox devs decided that users don't need/want to have Firefox do this any more?

I upgraded to Firefox 7 today, and now if I try to click in the empty space on the tab bar to the right of the current tabs I no longer get a new tab.

Is there a way to re-enable this feature?

After I have logged in to my Windows XP SP3 laptop, it takes a while for Windows to finish loading and for explorer.exe to become responsive and allow the Start menu to load.

Once the Start menu is working, I start Firefox, which opens, and it loads the tabs which were last open, which is okay, but it sits there and spins its wheels for about 2 minutes, doing nothing except displaying the hour glass icon and looking like it is trying to load the webpage, but no status messages appear in the status bar.

Why is it spinning it's wheels and doing nothing for so long?

There was untril very recently a 'Recently-accesssed' (or 'Most-frequently-accessed') button at top left of the screen. This has disappeared - it was very useful and I would like to get it back.

Drop in savings menu started coming up on web pages recently-shows up in upper right corner and usually about where the logout word is when you want to close a program upper right corner and shows coupons. not sure if they're usable as I did not ask to be shown anything by the program I did not add so I don't trust where it might take me. How can I eliminate it from the browser or block it from running in the browser? I just need some technical instructions on how to find it when it runs and stop it.

You have got to be kidding me, Mozilla! You claimed that Firefox 7.0 would consume less memory than its predecessors. Well, FF7.0 does consume less memory, but when I upgraded to Firefox 7.0.1 and used the browser, it now consumes MORE memory than FF7.0 did before, and it is now at nearly 300,000 KB to nearly 500,000 KB! And that was on my first use! The second or other times I used it, Firefox 7.0.1 only consumes less memory, than the first time I used the browser! Mozilla, when will you wise up and fix the memory leaks again?

Please help me with random crashes of Firefox 7.1. I'm not sophisticated enough to give you programming data. The ting is I'd like to continue to use this browser, but feel that I can't due to very frequent crashes...which causes loss of info and restarts w/ the report to Mozilla Firefox. By the way no results from anyone on that one. I have Win 7, an HP G-60, and communicate on FB, use You tube, Gmail, Yahoo. Not asking for much, eh! just want a fix, please.

I have just installed Firefox 7 on my new iMac that is running on Lion OS 10.7.2 and found that all hover states (rollovers) do not work here at all, i dun get dropdown menus or css colour change on any of my own websites or on other websites. I did move some of my profile files from the old iMac into the new one and everything else works fine. it also works on my old iMac which is running on Snow Leopard OS. but i have notice that its really slow on my Snow Leopard iMac and often just hangs on random pages for no reason.

Can someone tell me what i should do? I have tried moving the whole profile folder for the old iMac, when that did work, i started a new profile and move the recommended files only as shown on here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox. and it still doesn't work. Help please.

Running Win7 x64. Upgraded to Firefox 7, then YouTube videos stopped playing. YouTube keeps insisting I need to install the latest flash player, which I have done several times (both "install_flashplayer10_mssa_aih.exe" and "install_flashplayer11x64_mssa_aih" versions), clear cookies, reboot and all that crap. Firefox refuses to play YouTube videos. Internet Explorer 9 (x64) plays YouTube videos fine. Am not using Firefox anymore. You have got to SUPPORT your app instead of leaving users floundering. This is also why I HATE upgrading. It too often causes new incompatibilities when I just want to leave what is working, the hell alone.

I have a NoScript add-on icon in the corner, which works fine. If I add a GreaseMonkey icon from the Customize menu, the "Icon and Text" appears for that icon, like the Icon and Text from the browser controls (Home, stop, etc). Other add-on icons also show Icon and Text (S4E, for instance). NoScript is the only one I've found so far which collapses down to just an Icon.

This leads to the status (add-on) bar having a much larger height than I like. Essentially what I want is for only the Icon to appear in the Status bar (Add-on toolbar), while keeping Icons and Text in the Browser controls. My current workaround is simply removing the other add-on icons from the status (add-on) toolbar, but that takes away the ease of toggling and setting options.

Please tell me if I can provide you with anything else, and thanks for your help.

On the toolbar there are arrows for going back/forward one page at a time. That feature no longer works. Every time I click on a link I can never go back to the previous page. The arrows are greyed out as though I am at the first page loaded in that tab. I have tried re-installing, clearing history to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I have problem accessing a streaming website ( http://www.hkadr.com/stream.php ) that shows flash fonts. OK no problem with FF5, Chrome, IE.

For FF6, it is OK if I disable Aero Theme (transparent mode). Or, it is OK also if I turn the monitor resolution to 16 bit high color (from the default setting of 32 bit true color)

I have tried: disabling hardware acceleration, reset Cleartype text, upgrading the graphic card driver to the latest version - all cannot help FF6 read the problematic flash font website clearly.

My system is Win7 64 bit, AMD 6670 graphic card, CPU Q9550S, and I am running 2 monitors of 1920x1080 under 32 bit true color.

I read from another help thread that FF7 may have solved this, but I still cannot read the website under FF7.

Anyone can help please ?

Upgraded from 6.02 to 7.0 (automatically) on Win7. Running as standard user, FF 7 crashes on startup. Running with admin rights, FF starts up ok. Was running 6.02 as standard user with no issues. Disabled all plug-ins, and same result. Submitted this without the crash ID as well, but now have figured out how to supply it. Cannot see how to startup FF on win7 in 'safe' mode. Shift key during launch doesn't work. No menu items for 'start ff in safe mode.

This function no longer resizes popped-out windows even though Options -> Content -> JavaScript Advanced -> Move or resize existing windows is enabled.

After upgrade to FF7.0.1 (on Win7 Pro-64) I sometimes see a strange behaviour: while downloading a couple of files to the same folder, FF does occasionally change to another download folder - without request. I.e. I save files to folder A, suddenly FF offers me folder B. After choosing back to A, a couple of files later FF offers folder G, and so on. While working 10 - 12 hours with my PC, this happens once or twice a day. It doesn't depend on the file's format, happens with docs, videos, pics, pdfs, zips and other formats.
