It is not possible to access Facebook, Gmail and some few others through Firefox, the websites keeps loading while all other sites works fine in Firefox. I can access Facebook, Gmail and the other sites through the other browsers without any problems. I have already tried to clear Cookies and Cache, but it did not help. The problem started after the 63.0.0 update for Firefox

Google.com gives me this error:

The owner of www.google.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

Can't Add Security Exception in Advanced for some bullshit reason that I don't know and when I do click Advanced, this is what it gives me: https://www.google.com/

The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.

HTTP Strict Transport Security: false HTTP Public Key Pinning: true

I need to know when Firefox creates bookmarks backup. Help says that "it is created automatically", this answer is not sufficient for me. Someone found out that backup is being created after deleting the history, but I know it can be created on other circumstances, so please provide me information what are the possible reasons for Firefox to create a bookmarks backup?

To summarize: What triggers Firefox to create bookmarks backup?

I currently use FF version 63.0.3 on Windows 10, I have tried removing cert8.db, running FF in safe mode, even reinstalling FF, but it still didn't work. I also only use SMADAV and Windows Defender as antivirus. Only the official Mozilla site can be accessed.

As i recall, this problem started when I accidentally switched to a site. Could you help me?

And sorry if my grammar is bad, English is not my first language.

I read a lot about firefox sync, but not how it actually works.

I have two computers to sync. Both are connected to the same Firefox-account. What happens if one is set off and the other is running. On, of course on the running one, lets say, I add a bookmark. After a while I shut it down. What will happen with this bookmark since firefox-sync server is no backup? Will it kept there until synchronization has completed? Thus the other pc has been booted? What if both computers are running and on both different bookmarks are added?

Thanks

For many years, clicking the sidebar icon has opened a menu of bookmarks. Now, suddenly, it’s a History sidebar. I want the Bookmarks sidebar, based on bookmarks.html, back! Closing and reopening the sidebar, restarting Firefox, restarting the computer, don’t help.

I use Firefox bookmarks, organized in folders and subfolders and including many local PDF and HTML files, to organize my life! HELP!!

If it’s relevant, I have set browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML and browser.tabs.LoadBookmarksInTabs to ’true’. The preference browser.bookmarks.file is set to ’bookmarks.HTML’ in my Documents folder, where it is automatically backed up by the product Box Sync,

I have enabled the add-on ’Default Bookmark Folder’.

The most used feature for me and many more users of FF was the possibility to keep tabs open at all times. When closing FF it would keep all my tabs and reopen them when launching it the next day.

I sure hope this lost is just a bug, because if it was planned then fire the morons behind that most moronic idea before they run you down into a ditch.

I will wait for a fix in the next couple of days, otherwise I will uninstall any mozilla products from my machines and of all my clients also.

I recently began monitoring my internet traffic and found that two programs were downloading hundreds of megabytes of data, often when I was not actively doing anything on the internet. Those programs were OpenVPN Daemon and Firefox. This behavior is burning my already expensive bandwidth and I have no clue as to what is being downloaded, why, or where it is going.

Is there a way to stop this behavior?

Hi

Today Firefox started to ask "master password" on startup. Yes I use master password, but Firefox never asked it on startup. Why this could be happening? It does not matter what startup page I load, it could be blank page or any other. No sync or other Mozilla account is connected. Tried to disable all add-ons, does not help. Firefox version: 63.0.3 (64-bit).

My Amazon and PayPal accounts were recently hacked, apparently using Firefox Password Manager. I've since changed the passwords for the accounts in question and also enabled a password for Firefox. Attached is a redacted version of the hacking session. I have a few questions.

1) If someone's accessed my decrypted Firefox password file, should I assume every saved password has been compromised?

2)How do I get a list of all these sites if I do need to change the passwords on all or many of them?

3) Is there any way to tell if this attack was launched from inside my apartment or remotely? I think I know the DNS ip of my home system at the time.

Your help is much appreciated.

On certain webpages the text symbols are obscured or replaced by what appears to be a boxed in error code such as the characters F1 on top with 07 on the bottom, encased in a box. I've tried the "gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled pref on the about:config" to 'True' fix, with no luck. I've also changed the "security.sandbox.content.level and set its value to 1 (one) (default value is 3 )" and to '0' with no luck.

Bottom line is I'm not clever enough to figure out what the problem really is much less how to properly ask to fix it.

Any help or suggestions so I can actually see, and use, the proper symbols on many web pages is appreciated.

Many thanks

Beginning with Firefox 58, I haven't been able to use it for more than 5 minutes as it constantly crashes. There is no crash report to speak of, only the 'Restore tabs' option.

I tried all the guides I could find: - restarted with all addons disabled - fully wiped any installations and downloaded a new version - I am running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.1 (18B75) (lastest version) - about:crashes does not list any reports

I am forced to use other browsers because of these crashes, which is unfortunate. I also use Firefox on Windows 10 and I've never seen it crash. I also recall it crashing on High Sierra as well, so the Mojave upgrade wasn't the source.

Can anyone help me out with debugging this issue as I simply cannot solve it by myself and I've exhausted all the official guides as well as other topics.

Thank you.

Firefox does not trust DigiCert Global Root CA even though trust is set

I've had trouble accessing websites that use a certificate that's signed with the DigiCert Root CA. As an example, if I open up blog.mozilla.org, I get a SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER.

This is somehow related to my user profile. If I create a new profile, the problem disappears.

I've tried deleting cert*.db in my profile directory to no avail. I checked about:config and I couldn't find any relevant non-default configuration.

To my surprise, if I want to manually set the trust of the certificate in the certificate manager ("Edit Trust"), it tells me that the certificate is trusted. However, if I click on "View Certificate", I get the following error: "Could not verify this certificate because the issuer is unknown."

I don't know much about CAs, but it seems to be surprising how the issuer of a Root CA could be unknown, isn't that the whole point of a Root CA that it does not need to be signed by another certificate?

The more important question: Where in my profile may I have a non-default option that causes Firefox to not trust the DigiCert Global Root CA?

I saw the other couple reports, but could not comment since there's no way to create an account here.

The other reports mostly noticed the Title bar and theme issues, but being a web developer I also notice that half the internet is unreadable. No matter what theme Windows is set to, Light or Dark, no matter what theme Firefox is set to, Default, Light, or Dark, the same problem happens in any websites that do not explicitly declare the Body background-color and text color. So instead they become Grey and Grey, rather than White bg, and Black text.

Attached is one example, this only happens in Firefox, not other browsers.

Firefox crashed on me yesterday (2 Dec 2018) and does not open at all now, so Safe Mode is not an option.

Have tried: (1) closing and restarting Firefox; (2) restarting computer (MacBook Pro, Mid 2014, OSX 10.13.6); and (3) trashing Firefox, emptying trash, and restarting computer again. No luck. Continue to get the same, "We're sorry. Firefox had a problem and crashed," error prompt.

Per the instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent..., I am pasting my most recent Submitted Crash Report here: Crash ID: bp-550e8b76-0c74-487f-a901-7abc70181203

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Brandon
