I'm on a MacBook Pro, MacOS version 10.13.4. On my computer *only*, when I access a website with an ssl certificate, both Firefox and Firefox Developer Edition do not recognize it, it tells me "Could not verify this certificate because the issuer is unknown." I did some research and learned about the certificate chain, that an intermediate certificate wasn't found? IF so, then why is Firefox able to successfully browse it from other computers? I deleted cookies and browser history but no luck. Again, this ONLY happens on my computer in Firefox, so is there another file or setting that only I have and what might I check next?

so lately i have been having issues with my firefox settings. i added an extension that allows me to use VPN settings for firefox. after the first restart of firefox, there was a prompt asking for "some websites have multiple languages, would you like to ask websites for primarily English language to hide your internet presence better" (yes / no).

it doesnt matter which of these options i pick it will continue to resize my firefox window size to default firefox first time start size.

when i drag a tab from my "primary firefox window" to the desktop behind it, this window will also resize.

i have tried everything i can think of at this point.

Refreshing firefox manually removing user profile (deleting the user folder in %appdata%\mozilla\firefox) starting firefox in safe mode, it still happens. even removing the VPN extension afterwards doesn't help either

im at a loss here, i really dont know which options / setting i need to change for this to stop happening.

When I am entering text into a text box (for example a textarea html tag) with Firefox Developer Edition 61.0b2 (64-bit), and many previous versions, every single word is underlined as red. When I right click and select the language, US English is the only option. To begin to debug this I started firefox in safe mode from the command line. The first time I place my cursor in a text box, the following appears in my terminal:

This seems like something one might expect to see considering the the spell checking problem. However, if I run: "ls -l /usr/lib/firefox-developer-edition/dictionaries/" on my system I get the following:

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3090 May 9 23:34 en_US.aff

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 545233 May 9 23:34 en_US.dic

So the dictionary files are definitely there. Furthermore I have opened them to make sure they are populated with the words from the English language.

To remedy the issue I have tried "resetting" firefox so that I have a new profile, but this did nothing. Interestingly enough, when I run the non-developer edition of firefox, the spell checking works as expected.

How can I go about fixing this issue?

Firefox is my go-to browser on all my computers, but for some reason on my Win10 laptop it uses 30-60% CPU at all times, while my opera browser uses 1-5%. Both idle with same amount of tabs, or zero tabs. I've tried reinstalling multiple times, many versions, did the safe mode, did the refresh button.

I have been trying to reinstall firefox developer edition for the last 45 min. I am trying to install firefox without it importing my old data like passwords etc. I have tried deleting the folder that gets created when I uninstall firefox on the desktop but it just keeps importing anyway. I have tried removing the sync account but still no result.

How do I install firefox developer edition without it importing everything everytime?

Since DAY ONE Firefox has not allowed users to find misplaced folders because it has no feature to do so that actually functions for this task. There are outdated extensions and several methods that simply do not work yet for some reason folders containing other folders and bookmarks constantly disappear and are usally relocated into some other folder.

Sure, maybe we can remember a keyword for searching and can find an entire list of bookmarks that way but what about all of the others in the misplaced hierarchy of folders and bookmarks?

MOZILLA SUCKS BIG TIME IN THIS CONTEXT

They know damn well this has been a serious problem for years and have not responded when updating Firefox. They suck so bad they won't even write a tutorial that actually explains how to use SQLite for example to search through places.sqlite which will in fact at least identify the path where the misplaced folder(s) are located so a user can relocate back to where they can be seen and used.

I can use SQLite Browser to find bookmarks but not the folder they are in or the path where the folder is located.

Where's the tutorial for SQLite?

I am running Firefox Quantum 61.0b8 (64-bit) on Windows 10.

My issue: I originally had snippets on the bottom of tabs. Sometimes, I ignored them. Sometimes, I selected the "x" to remove them. Now, I have a white banner covering the bottom of web pages.

Additional details: 1. If I right-click the banner area, I get a MS Windows dialogue box (display settings, etc.), even though it appears to be inside a Firefox window. 2. When I close Firefox, the banner disappears. 3. I cannot access the bottom of websites I frequent in full-screen because stationery links are now hidden under the banner. 4. Scrolling does not help, unless I resize the window. When the window is less than full-screen, the banner goes away.

What may have happened: I noticed the issue shortly after I missed clicking on the "x" on a message. Bad aim. I then tried selecting the "x" again, and it wouldn't close. I know. Makes no sense to me either. But, it is the only somewhat related moment I can remember before this happened.

This is what I've done so far (not in any particular order): 1. I unchecked, checked, then unchecked the "snippets" box on the Options home tab. 2. I closed Firefox and re-opened it in safe mode twice. 3. I refreshed Firefox once. 4. I re-booted my laptop.

Any recommendation is appreciated. Screen shot attached.

I am a new developer and I'm trying to learn how cookies work, but I don't know how to view what the actual cookie value is, so that I can check if I did it correctly. I see where you can set the defaults you want and enable or disable cookies, but where can you view the content in FireFox browser? I know in Google Chrome you can see all the cookies and their values in settings, content, cookies, view all. Thanx, Gil

Quantum 60.0b9 will not log in to "capitol1" after one earlier update. Thought it was a bug and waited. EDGE browser works. Trusted everything at site in "NO SCRIPT". Cleared all of cash cookies history. Entered login and paswd via key board. Tried alternative rout from main site to login page. Started a few updates back, thought it was a bug and would be fixed. Windows 10 home 64bit. Very good forums yet nothing works. A little help wold be very much apreciated by a long time user.Please.

I've had Firefox Beta 60.x crash on me three times in the last two days, as well as tabs failing to load after clicking perfectly valid links, so, I want to stop Ffx Beta, and stick with allegedly confirmed stable versions.

When I try to open my account at CANADIAN TIRE BANK i get a message telling me that FF has prevented automatic direction to another page unless I click "ALLOW". This does not happen when I open other bank account pages.

But I decided to ask my question here because I've never had this trouble using usual version of Firefox, and when I've installed Firefox Developer Edition today, I got the trouble with "SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER" when trying open any website. At the same time, my antivirus Kaspersky is annoyingly popping up attentions about this and asking to "ignore" or to "add to exclusions".

Actually, I've solved this trouble, when I disabled the interception of secure connections (as suggested in the article), but it is very questionable act due to security reasons.

I'd like to ask you to help me with solving the trouble in other way, which doesn't descrease security connection level.

Hello Im updated firefox to quantum and now i have problem with opening webpages in new tab. When open firefox everything looks like OK, but when o open new tab and write any website, nothing do. I found some topics when some peoples wrote to disable addons (run in safe mode). I´ve tryied that but no changes.

Any idea how to solve that ?

As stated in question, I've recently started getting the message "SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG" when attempting to access various website intermittently. Sometimes reloading the page fixes it. Sometimes it doesn't. Error is only occurring in Firefox, not other browsers.

what do I need to do to be able to see Captcha images?

I am using Noscript with Firefox beta channel currently on 61.0

for some time I have been unable to see Captcha images after I tick "I am not a robot" Captcha seems to be presented by a growing number of sites to protect logins and comments

I have set "Trusted" with Noscript as many of the sites as I dare that No script is presenting to me but usually have to switch to another browser (Chrome) without Noscript to proceed

I have disabled Noscript and Captcha still does not display images?

Is this a Firefox issue or ???????

I can't run FF61 anymore with hardware acceleration enabled. FF opens with a pure white window: no menubars, tabs, content, even the minimize, maximize, and close buttons are all white. Safemode Firefox works OK. Disabling all extensions doesn't help. Only thing that fixes the normal mode is going to settings (has to be in Safemode to see settings) and disabling the option "Use hardware acceleration when available".

Versions: Windows 10 Home, 64bits, 10.0.17134 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, with latest driver 398.36 broke FF61.0. Previous driver 398.11 worked fine.

(Not 100% sure if FF 61.0 or NVIDIA 398.36 is the root cause, since both where updated about the same time. That is 398.11 and FF 60.0.2 together worked just fine for sure.)

After updating to 61.0 (64 bit) my Home Content options disappeared, leaving a blank page when opening new tabs. From research, I see there should be a Firefox Home Content section in about:preferences#home . Mine has no Firefox Home Content options listed, just options for New Windows and Tabs (see screenshot). I have tried disabling all addons and closing/reopening Firefox but it made no difference.

How do I get my Home Content options back?

I would like to be able to have web search in the home page (not the address bar) and my top sites pinnable there, like it was before the 61.0 update, instead of the blank home page I am now seeing when opening new tabs.
