I'm trying to upgrade from V52 ESR - kept for known and obvious reasons concerning addons compatibility - to a current V81. Copied the profile data from user/appdata/mozilla/firefox.../myprofile/*.* - including "key3.db" (in use), "key4.db" (don't know where this one originates from - shouldn't exist at all for versions < 57 or so) and "logins.json".

So far stumbled upon:

  • No Logins in new system visible. No master password set. After setting a new master password, still no logins visible.
  • This very forum here suggests - in many threads for version upgrades from somewhere in the 50s to up to the 70s - to simply copy the "key3.db" and "logins.json" and to delete the "key4.db" on the new system's profile. That does not change anything at all.

Am i forced to keep the V52, now not only by means of addons compatibility, but also by means of login manager compatibility?

What would the correct path to upgrade be? Would i have to install each and every in-between-version from 52 to 81 to be able to migrate? Will i run into the exact same trouble doing it that way, only burning daytime for nothing? Or is it guarantied to somehow get the logins data transfered to the current version? How did all the Millions of other users fare with that aspect? Is that an extremely rare case where users set a master password, so that developers decided to not care anymore about those nasty paranoids?

This question is a follow-up to support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1243718. When I turned off anti-aliasing, text became much more readable, but still not as good as it was in FireFox 22 (see attached picture for comparison). Any ideas? (I would be more than happy to continue using FireFox 22, but there are a lot of Web sites that require encryption algorithms that FireFox 22 doesn't have, so I am compelled to use FireFox 52 with all its problems, tabs that take up valuable screen space and are impossible to turn off, and unreadable ClearType text with smudged letters that make me nauseous. I think whoever coined the term "CLEARType" was a very sick person).

All three boxes under Options, Privacy, History, Firefox wil: Use custom settings for history are checked. I need to know what boxes are checked (if any) as default. I will not select Use default to find this out because I do not want my other settings to change to default. Can anyone tell me what the default setting is for this option? Thanks in advance.

Am using the ESR channel for Firefox (32-bit), and am at the latest version 52.9.0 My Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 is running WIndowXP SP3 Two issues: (1) Am running into problems with one or two sites who appear to be lax about initializing their variables. The workaround is to reload a page once or twice. Or, in the case of input being required, to enter incorrect data the first time. My assumption is that new browsers are more "forgiving". (2) Flash is being discontinued. Will Firefox 52.9.0 (32 bit) be able to cope with what I assume is the move too HTML 5 Happy to help in anyway with either or both issues.

Greetings!

I have Firefox for my browser and the home page is set to my.yahoo.com.

I cleared my browser and lost all my my.yahoo.com home page bookmarks and customized yahoo mail folders. I still have my Firefox bookmarks.

Can I retrieve the lost emails and bookmarks that were on yahoo? I did try restoring a previous Firefox version and also opening Firefox on a different browser, (Internet Explorer), and tried using a different computer, but Yahoo mail and bookmarks are still missing.

Bummed boomer!
