How do I turn off that automatic update that always brings me to the "what's new" web page? It was interesting the first time, but now it is just an irritation. I can check for updates on my own, so I want to turn off this feature. It just started up when I upgraded to Firefox 5. I can't find a place to stop it from checking and bringing me to that web page. Also, I can't stop it from checking add-ons every single time I open the browser.

I must confess, I heve lots of addons installed, therefore my toolbar is fully loaded. the adress bar is shrunk to a minimum, but there would be absolutely no need for the Page Security Info to be THAT space consuming!!? Who needs the full name of the certificate to be visible all the time! Wouldn´t it be enough to just show it by hovering over it?

Is there any possibility to shrink this annoying text to the size of an icon??

Thanx 4 every hint!

Turned on the add-on toolbar, it now shows FireBug and AdBlocker icons, but no ForecastFox. I installed StatusBar-4-Eva, the icons changed alignment to the right side, but still no ForecastFox

Sites with mailto: links are not passing through the recipient address to Outlook Express with Firefox 5. This problem has persisted for at least 4 months now and a fix was promised months ago. When clicking 'History', there's a list of the 10 most recently visited pages. I would like to make this list longer, so I was wondering if there's any way to change the number of entries displayed there. I've been looking for some about:config rule but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if whether it's possible, and if yes, how? Thank you!

There seems to be a problem with the updater in Firefox 5. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit.

I was running Firefox 5.0 and I noticed that Firefox 5.0.1 had been released so went to Help - About Firefox.

Running under my user account the Apply Update button appeared but when I clicked it Firefox restarted but didn't update. Running under my administrator account, Firefox said that it was up to date.

Therefore, I downloaded the 5.0.1 file and installed it manually. When I checked Help - About Firefox:

- in my user account, the Apply Update button still appears, even though the version shows as 5.0.1; and - in my administrator account, Firefox says it is up to date.

So there seems to be a bug in the up date process. Under Firefox 3 and 4 the updates worked okay.

Even within this text field as I type, all is normal, but backspacing using the arrow keys (and then also forward spacing using the arrow keys as I return to typing) erases bits of the text. Once I begin typing again in this field, the erased components restore to normal. This effect can be captured in a screenshot. Upon closer inspection, there appears to be a second invisible cursor, one full character to the right of the visible cursor. So when arrow backspacing, the invisible cursor trails the visible one, wrecking the text behind. When forward spacing using the arrow keys the text gets wrecked in front of the visible cursor.

Hi, there.

On July 11 Mozilla released FF 5.0.1 to bring increased compatibility with Mac OS X Lion. You said:

Please note: Users on Windows and Linux do not need and will not see the update offer.

Yesterday I noticed that FF 5.0.1 for Linux and Windows are available.

Yet I can't find any credible information on the Internet what's all about. "Security Advisories for Firefox", "Mozilla Foundation Security Advisories", and "US-CERT Current Activity" pages have no mention of FF 5.0.1 for Linux and Windows at all.

Could you please shed some light about that particular and yet mysterious release?

Thanks in advance.

I just installed FF 5.0 & info page says to change tabs back go to Firefox tab on top of page and click options. There is no such tab on my page. Also if the guy in the video tutorial about why this is "better" spoke clearly and about 50 miles an hour slower, maybe I could understand what he was saying. You have a lot of glitches tight now. My password would not work & when I reset it & tried to access the "Support" page it said "Access Denied". This was after it said my password was successfully changed. Please notify me by email when an answer is found. Thank you.

Hello,

I was using Internet Explorer 9 as my default browser. I downloaded Firefox and imported everything over, but Adobe Flash Player is not on Firefox. It's asking to manually install the Plug-in and, after I click the icon, it doesn't install.

Since I already have flash player installed, which works fine in IE, how do I fix this problem?

Thank you.
