I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on the same machine. Right at first Firefox worked ok but then it wouldn't load a web page anymore. I've uninstalled it several times, including the profile folder, but that had made no difference. Doesn't matter if you type in an address in the URL bar at the top or the search box on the home page, the screen just flashed really quickly and then is still on the default home page. Any help? Below is the text from the troubleshooting page. {

I am trying to secure my WRT54G Linksys router. Someone said I have to go through my browser, then enter 192.168.1.1 and this would bring up a page where I could change my password of my home network. I can not get any page remotely like that up. Right now, my home network is insecure. I checked it with my phone and it is wide open.

How do I secure my network? FireFox is my home page.

Under "Live Bookmarks" Help topics, I am trying to use "Tips & Tricks" to add an RSS feed icon to my Toolbar that works. I am using FF 43. 0.2.

I can get the icon to appear, but it does not "light up" to signal me that a Feed is available. I even went to the USA Today site that has feeds listed as available, including RSS.

Firefox doesn't load webpages at all. The exact behaviour is as follows:

Open a new tab:

- New tab opens with title "New Tab".
- Address bar says "Search or enter address".
- Page display is blank white page (having set new tab page to be blank page).

Enter a valid URL and press the "Enter" key.

- New tab title changes to "Connecting..." briefly and then reverts to "New Tab".
- Address bar doesn't change.
- Page display remains blank page.

So in an attempt to figure out what was going on, I ran Wireshark. After turning off Google safebrowsing, I can see that Firefox is doing a DNS lookup. That's it. JUST a DNS lookup. There is no attempt at all to open a TCP/HTTP connection to anything at all. With Google safebrowsing enabled, it does two DNS lookups, one for google.safebrowsing.com and one for some other apparently unrelated address.

I have followed all the steps in the existing troubleshooting guides. I have completely uninstalled Firefox including all profile data and reinstalled. Twice.

The next debugging question that's sure to be asked is "what did you do before this started happening?" the answer is nothing. I didn't upgrade Firefox. I didn't install any new addons. I didn't change my networking setup at all. I didn't install any new Windows upgrades. I did NOTHING. At least nothing that I can think of. I am not sure of the exact sequence of when this started happening, but it may have started happening since I installed Glyph/ArcheAge. Or maybe Firefox was still working for a day or so after I installed it. I really do not remember. Certainly there was no distinctive landmark activity. Oh, and my wife's PC which is exactly the same build as mine, but may have slightly different Windows updates (for example) also has Glyph/ArcheAge installed on it and Firefox works fine.

Google isn't helping. I have no idea where this obnoxious and intrusive POS came from. I uninstalled all extensions (except the Canonical-supported Ubuntu customizations, which can only be disabled) and I'm still getting Offers4U.

But every answer I turned up, even here on the Mozilla support forum is for Windows or Mac OS X. Those are unnecessary and irrelevant to me. I could simply "sudo apt-get purge firefox" and be through with it, but then it removes 98% of my installed system. There is no, repeat, no way that I can run anti-malware software in Linux. So, that answer will be ignored. In fact, WINE will not let you run Windows software that deals with low-level details (the Linux kernel in fact blocks it).

I even tried running Bleachbit to see if that was the case. Still shows up.

I'm running out of options here.

I clicked on a link to go to page 2 on a message board. A tab opened to a different web address. Below:

FireFox Security Warning https://oolultopwereldvastgoed.net/f090e423edf3bd6d8558c3082c3ec74e.htm...

Check attached srceenshot.

The tab seemed to opened exactly at the same time I clicked on the page 2 link. This could have been a coincidence, that at the same time I clicked, the tab opened. The weird thing is there was no history of the said site in "Show All History".

I did a malwarebytes scan with zero threats identified. I did a full scan with MSE antivirus software with no threats identified.

I still do not know how this tab appeared. Or were it came from and how it was generated.

My computer at the moment seems to be functioning correctly. I have also tried to recreate it by clicking on the page 2 link with no results.

Because I did not download this fake update, does this mean my computer is not infected?

From https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/711025

since firefox 35, users going trough the ask-a-question flow don't need to install an extension anymore in order to submit their information from about:support, instead they can just click on a "share data" button. unfortunately "modified preferences" are no longer included as long as bug 1091944 is addressed...

That open bug depends on bug 1091942 which is still unresolved and unassigned.

I did the update online thru Firefox, however have no way of determining whether or not it was successful. Noted that Web of Trust has an update of 12--8-15, however when I click on the icon "check for updates" , nothing happens. The icon for the WOT is there on the upper right portion of the tool bar.

How do I know I have the updated version of WOT? What does the "refresh" link do?

There was a firefox upgrade to version 43.0.2 and since then I have been unable to load images to several websites. On eBay I get an invalid photo (CLEERR002) error message. On Mailchip I get an error message indicating a problem with loading images and on ECWID the images refuse to load at all.

I can load these images using safari so there is not a problem with the image.

I am using OSX 10.9.5

I am using Firefox 43.0.2 (43.0.1 would always crash few seconds after start) on Windows Vista. I have tried uninstalling Firefox and making clean install. When I try to visit any URL (like www.google.com or about:healthreport) nothing will happen, no error message, no loading, just a very short loading icon hints that Firefox have tried something. Only URL like about:config and about:license seams to work.

The last two firefox updates somehow rendered my option inaccessible. I have to boot in safe mood to make any changes which is annoying. I did a refresh as well as a new reinstall and I still have the problem. All my addons worked fine until this last update. I also use Avast antivirus and tried to disable some options I thought may interfere with firefox but did not disable "web protection" altogether. I am at a loss.

This is trivial and old-fashioned, but I like title bars. Is there a way to get it to show in Firefox 43.0.2?
