Crash ID: 8442c6e4-7b2b-4192-9a98-fff3a2151021

When I try to download a file, Firefox immediately freezes and does not recover upon trying to change the folder or pressing the Save button. This does not happen in any other folder.

Things I've tried to remedy the situation (to no avail):

Disabling Hardware Acceleration, Disabling all plugins, Running Firefox in Safe Mode, Refreshing Firefox, Downgrading to version 39, Downgrading to version 35 (the last version that worked flawlessly, but doesn't anymore), Upgrading to the latest Nightly build, Installing the latest Windows Updates, Installing the latest graphics drivers, Following all the steps on this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Firefox+crashes

What can be done to remedy the situation (short of reinstalling Firefox from scratch)? I don't want to have to go back to Chrome!

These crashes have been occuring several times a day. :( Like last time, these were all caused by the fact that I had deleted several critical stability plugins the year before. I can reinstall them, but there's one problem. I don't remember their names.

The search bar in the "Awesome bar" has recently stopped offering search suggestions, either from my search history or from Google itself. When I control-click in the search bar, "search suggestions" has a check next to it, and it is also ticked in the Preferences.

I've re-set network.http.speculative-parallel-limit to 0 and then set it to 6 and 10, with no difference. Re-starting the browser makes no difference.

browser.search.suggest.enabled = true browser.urlbar.suggest.bookmark = true browser.urlbar.suggest.history = true browser.urlbar.suggest.history.onlyTyped = false browser.urlbar.suggest.openpage = true browser.urlbar.suggest.searches = false

I've been having problems with Javascript seeming to just quit working after the browser has been running for a while over the last several updates, which affects things like comment loading on some sites, Java-based menus not working, etc. but I don't know if that would be related to this problem. A re-start didn't solve things in this case, not today anyway.

Facebook scrolling stalls on 2 laptops and 1 PC with Firefox 41.0.2. I've tried refreshing Firefox, deleting plug-ins, uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, nothing seems to help. My other browser I.E. does not have this stalling problem when scrolling on Facebook. Mozilla does not seem to have a clean uninstall program and the Windows uninstaller leaves old Firefox data and registry items. So I'm currently backing up data on my main laptop and am going to reimage it from a prior clone and see if the older version of Firefox works better. Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestions that might help?

I have lost or chosen to fix FF in the past (Refresh). Today, something else is going on. I did a system restore to fix my DESKTOP only,

I also had a FF update (41.0.2). After I restored everything, some of my FF tools had to be installed. That shouldn't have anything to do with Microsoft Outlook. So, what I had to restore was Saved Password Manager, which is not Firefox. Even when I reinstalled this addon, my passwords came back, but not this time.

Do I have to do a refresh - or can I just install passwords, even though they are not saved in the FF manager?

I didn't attempt this, because I am exhausted, cannot see straight, and can't follow directions, because I'm too tired. And especially because nothing else is NOT working. Why would an update kick off ah addon? It's still compatible.

Thank you.

In my work computer, Firefox always gives "sec_error_unknown_issuer" error and only on HTTPS sites.

I have browsed the forums and understood that this is most probably caused by a sofware that performs HTTPS scanning. (See [this](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1030927) and [this](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1026631#answer-650916) answer)

However, I really don't know which software is performing the HTTPS scanning exactly.

Is there a way that I can determine which software is doing the HTTPS scanning so that I will be able to add its certificate to Firefox and hence be able to use the Firefox properly?

Thank you very much in advance

Regards

On Plug-In Status page, Firefox says that I have the potentially vulnerable Adobe Flash player v. 19.0.0.185, and should update. But I already took this advice, and Adobe confirms that my installed version is 19.0.0.226. I ran the update at least twice (and of course I've restarted Firefox several times, and refreshed the page for good measure). Why does Firefox think I still have v. 19.0.0.185?

Essentially the same story with Adobe Reader plug-in 15.9.20069.28170. Firefox says I have this outdated version and should update. I ran the update at least twice (but unlike with Flash Player I don't know how to confirm that the update's been installed). The version Firefox says I have, and the advice to update, didn't change.

I updated two other plug-ins yesterday. Immediately after updating, when I refreshed the Plug-In Status page, those plug-ins disappeared from the "vulnerable" or "outdated" lists. It's only the Adobe Flash Player and Reader plug-in updates (which I also did yesterday) that Firefox seems blind to. I waited a day to see if Firefox would recognize the updates today, but it still doesn't. On this question-submission page, Firefox's "educated guesses" about my current browser list the older Adobe Flash Player and Reader versions that I've already updated from.

FF crashed as I was closing it. When I restarted, the OS failed with a message about some process that failed. When I tried to restart again, nothing would respond, not even the PC’s power switch. So I had to remove power and start again. When I finally got running again, all my former tabs are showing “New Tab” only—no content or titles.

I tried "Session Restore" without avail and that option is now grayed out.

I want my former tabs back! Some of them were really important to me. What can I do?

When using Windows 7 Pro and Explorer 11, I used to be able to access PDFs at the Yamagata University library, such as the ones listed in this index. I have since switch to Windows 10 and Firefox, and the Yamagata Repository interface has changed. Because so many things are different, I have struggled to troubleshoot the problem: I cannot get Firefox to take me to the page yamagata.repo.nii.ac.jp/sakuma_1-171_187.html. Since it downloads it instead, I cannot get the PDFs listed on it.

I have made both https://yamagata.repo.nii.ac.jp and https://repo.lib.yamagata-u.ac.up trusted sites in Windows 10 and in Firefox, though it is unclear to what extent that alters Firefox's behavior. On the other hand, MS Edge also fails. Evidently, something more needs to be done.
Archived messages on line suggest that the problem could be a hang-up when "index.php" is encountered and/or that "html" files are treated differently from "htm" files. Perhaps so: but how does one fix it?

Not sure when this LEFT click context menu showed up, it's clobbering all sorts of stuff and annoying as hell. Comes up sporadically with a link menu, even on non-links; if I click left on a link it means I want to go to that link, not debate about a new window or saving the location. Can't tell if it's native to new Firefox (41.0.2) or if I've got several websites that are adding it to be "helpful".

I've read everything on disabling right click menu and all solutions are based on either old Firefox versions or completely disabling javascript in the about:config.

Is there a way to disable the LEFT click menu?
