This problem popped up for the first time a few months ago. but I was able to work around it by by clicking on "I understand the risks" on the "This Connection Is Untrusted" warning page, and then by adding a security exception. That fix would work for random lengths of time... sometimes for days, sometimes for minutes. Now, after updating to the latest version of Firefox, I get the same security warning but the option to click "I Understand the Risks" is gone. I get this error message on the technical details page: (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer

I have done everything listed here many, many times: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/connection-untrusted-error-message I mean everything. Delete cert.db, start in safe mode, empty cache, delete and reinstall.... Nothing works.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

I never used to have this problem and I have refreshed Firefox numerous times but continue to have the problem. Whenever I clear history (everything BUT the active logins), it clears my active logins. I have to clear cache and cookies quite often due to my older laptop and constant streaming on Netflix, Hulu, and TWC. Is there a way I can correct this issue?

This fixed itself one day after I posted a question last time. Nothing has changed, but now the problem's back.

I've done every fix I can find, and none of them worked last time either anyway. I don't remember all of the solutions I implemented last time, but I did just double check options-->advanced for hardware accel/smooth scroll being disabled. I also retried the config angle, checking for something to be false in mousewheel pixel scrolling (sorry don't remember exactly; forgot while yelling at this site).

Since so far all the changes from last time seem to have stuck, I'm not going to keep hunting for things to double-check.

What else can I do? Going crazy here, having to waste hours on this *again* for no discernible reason. I do love Firefox and appreciate having a free browser, but this one little issue is wreaking havoc with my sanity. Never had Firefox problems I couldn't Google to solve before this. :-/

I keep my browser set to remember my open tabs when I close Firefox. Since the most recent update, however, I have been unable to make this happen. I checked in my preferences and the option to remember tabs when Firefox is closed is still selected. When I go to close Firefox, however, I get the "you are about to close X tabs" message and all tabs are forgotten. When I open Firefox again the tabs I had open are all gone. I have tried re-selecting the "save my tabs" option multiple times but it has not made a difference in the browser's performance, though the settings are always correct when I check again. I am unsure of what to do about this issue, but it is rather maddening and I would really like to find a solution, preferably before the frustration induces me to find another browser to use.

So the other week I downloaded a program called "Any Video Converter" to help me on a project I was working on, and I guess it must've been laced with some malware virus because whenever I open a new tab in Firefox, my browser automatically opens it up in Bing. I tested it out in my Chrome browser but it only affected Firefox.

I ran a scan in Malware Bytes Anti-Malware but it didn't detect anything... :c

Has this happened to anyone else? How do I get rid of this virus!?

Hello, I've installed various games onto my computer such as Garry's Mod, and several other 3D type games that work perfectly fine without Firefox on, no crashes no problems. Several of my games (exception is minecraft), whenever I have firefox just up and running, it will just crash my computer. Black screen instantly, no warnings, just instantly switches everything off. I've scanned several times, I have no viruses and the games work normally without firefox.

But what could firefox be doing to cause my computer to crash with them on? Is there a way to fix it?

This only happens on my default profile and other profiles are OK. I started firefox in safe mode (Add-ons disabled) and the problem still exist. I'm using firefox 39.0.3 on windows 7 and I don't want to update to a newer version.
