My problem started when I inadvertently hit the tab to open each site in its own tab for a week of surfing etc. As soon as I did this I realized the disaster and in the end, shut down, because there was no way each (I work a huge amount daily on my Firefox for my profession) would first open and then close. Since then, I can't open Firefox at all- and have been trying to figure something out. As Safe Mode won't even come on when I click, I have thought of uninstalling and re-installing. But I have a lot of Bookmarks - and I gather they would be lost. Obviously I can't open Firefox to get to my Profile file. Is this something I can solve, a repair pro solve? Thanks

I am not on my own computer to submit this, obviously. This is on someone's Firefox. I use XP Pro on the laptop that is frozen

I have upgraded a few times recently to 37 and now to 39 but the firefox homepage search bar has lost all of my history and more importantl, I used to be able to double-click on it to bring up a list of recent searches. Oh yeah, and the font has been changed and is now too big :(

Is there anything I can do to import / get back my list of old searches and change the other bits? If not I will be stuck on 32 / 33 for ever!

Cheers, Jason.

Hello. I must say it was a long time getting to this question page.

I have windows 7 pro 64 bit. Firefox is my go-to browser. I have learned to set the main page, but of course, each time my notebook goes into the shop, twice now they either alter my browsers (all) though I sayd DO NOT DO THAT and then I find some goofy thing.

This time, it is goofy icons and boxes when I click open a second tab. HOw can I get rid of them? I cannot put up with that. They go or I do. I like Firefox just as it is, they don't need to put those silly things on it. It's cartoon stuff. I just don't like it. Thank you so much in advance for your help. Gina

Every time I start MSoft Outlook to read my Hotmail emails I get the message that the following error:- "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

Script: https://swx.cdn.skype.com/v/1.6.288/js/fullExperience.min.js:194"

I have tried all the suggested solutions and nothing seems to work.

I only get this on Firefox - on IE there are no problems, I prefer to use Firefox.

Any ideas on how to cure this Firefox guys?

I have multiple issues with Firefox and now Thunderbird as well. I know most of this is from a hacker who seems to have no trouble breaching your browsers security. There are 2 browser exploits that change log in information when the page is closed and re-opened not related to in private browseing because I do not use that feature.

I have been fighting this for awhile now Thunderbird is affected as well. Anytime I try to email for support from my varieous anti-malware programs the email will not send going thru a whole series of error messages that actually look like overlays.

Anyway why is it so difficult to get to support basically I have to jump thru hoops to get here. Why not have a link or email addy on the program itself. Example firefoxes menue bar.

Hi there,

I have installed a British dictionary, as I don't use American spelling (I'm Australian).

I've changed the language to British in settings and deleted USA from the options. Every time I close the browser it changes back to the US dictionary and the spellcheck starts correcting me based on USA spelling. I right click a text box, click languages and it's set itself to English (USA).

Is there some way to delete the USA dictionary entirely? Why does it keep changing back to the default?? It's so frustrating!

I am using a Mac, latest OS, with the default Firefox theme.

Thanks in advance, Hayden

I have several tabs that are always open and constantly reloading- they reload about every second. Having just one open, Firefox can somewhat handle it, and all the other tabs I'm working on just slow down. But as soon as I get to around 3 tabs, they all start slowing down and Firefox eventually freezes and then crashes (and when I say eventually, it takes about 5mins or less).

I have updated my graphics drivers. I have updated Firefox to the latest version. I have updated the drivers for my graphics card. All plugins are updated. Windows is up to date. Anti-virus program is up to date. No I can't test if this happens in safe mode as the reloading program is an add-on. And yes I've gone into the settings and de-selected the thing saying "Use hardware acceleration when available" and this still happens.

My computer specs are as follows: Intel quad core i7-3610QM 2.3GHz processor, 8GB RAM, Nvidia 630M (2GB), Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

What can I do to stop this freezing and crashing?? At best, I need 6 tabs open together that are constantly refreshing but I can't even reach 2 without issues right now. My computer isn't exactly high end but it's not slow either, and runs a decent amount of heavy games without issue, I don't see why it shouldn't be able to handle a few refreshing tabs.

I keep getting a notification to restart Firefox to apply updates, but when I check what needs updating, I find nothing. None of my addons are out of date in about:addons, and opening "About Firefox" shows that there are no Firefox updates available. Yet after several minutes of using Firefox, I get an update notification, which I usually notice after making a YouTube video full screen, or some other change to what I'm doing.

My OS and applications outside of Firefox are also up to date. I am an Ubuntu user, so "up to date" is relative - Ubuntu is frequently out of date. Because of this, combined with my habit of keeping multiple OSes on each of my computers, I have a copy of Firefox in my dropbox folder and use Firefox Sync to keep my settings and addons across systems. This information may help with debugging the problem, i,e, if Dropbox was confused by Firefox's update process or vice versa.

I will attach logs if I can catch Firefox asking to restart again, as the last few times it happened I failed to get the logs.

I never have my browsers save Usernames and Passwords. Nor do I choose "remain logged in" (or "remember me," whatever) on any site.

Once I login to mail.centurylink.net, every FUTURE time I use webmail, Centurylink does NOT require my Username or Password. THIS IS NOT GOOD WHEN I USE SOMEONE ELSE'S COMPUTER!

Centurylink says I have to delete Cookies, Cache and active logins. That solves the problem - until I log in again!!!!!

Interesting that IE doesn't have the issue with Centurylink webmail! Interesting that Firefox doesn't have the issue with my eBay account!

If this is indeed a Firefox issue, I'd like to know how to fix it. Otherwise I'll have to use IE and compalin (again) to Centurylink.

Thanks, Alan

For the last few months, every time I try to access an older email from any of the folders in my Inbox, the "Go to" function at the bottom of the window which brings up the calendar is not functioning properly.  Normally when I click on the left side of the calendar window header the months move backward.  When I click on the right side of the calendar header the months move forward.  This feature stopped working a few months ago in Firefox, however it works perfectly when using my email with Safari.

Microsoft chat support was of no help whatsoever. I have tried all the self-help measures I know of, like clearing the System and User caches on my Mac, clearing the Firefox cache, clearing FF history, cookies, etc., but nothing has helped.  Thank you.

Hi,

Error:

--The page isn't redirecting properly

--Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

--This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies

When trying to go to redcliffhealth.org, which I'm redirecting to www.redcliffhealth.org in my domain host configuration, I get the above error. It works perfectly in IE or Chrome.

I've researched this and cleared all cookies and unchecked "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" and these do not help.

What else could cause this?
