I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

After clicking on a link from Thunderbird email, Firefox opens first time, but after closing I am unable to open it again, as it says Firefox is still running although it is not. The process still runs as shown by Task Manager and have to end task to reload Firefox.

Have reinstalled it several times, but no look. So far it only seems to happen after opening Firefox through Thunderbird.

Any help to resolve this would be great as I do not want to resort to using IE

I'm using Firefox 29 on Win7x64. It's my default browser. Sometimes, when I try to open a web link from Outlook email or Yahoo email, the link does not open. Instead, Firefox opens a process every time that I click, but does not open the link or even a page. If I try to open another Firefox instance by clicking the shortcut, yet another process starts, but a page does not open. Safe mode does not help. The only resolution thus far is to close every process or reboot, and then re-install Firefox. This issue began in v29 or the one just before. I also have tried suggestions posted to the forum. Previously with Firefox I could file a new bookmark directly into a new or existing folder. How can I do that with new Firefox??? (without having to save it and then move it later, which I don't see how to do anyway) And how can I organize and edit bookmarks and folders with new Firefox? This was all so easy previously with Firefox. This is a major step backward in user unfriendliness.

I don't have time to watch video's or try to figure out how to get my toolbar back.

they always screw something up that was fine before and so i spend a day trying to get stuff back to a usable state

Hi Friends, After the recent upgrade to 29.0.1, and having several unwanted changes forced upon me, I installed Classic Theme Restorer plugin, to get my old setup back, MOSTLY. I was able to remove the new menu button, which I'm very happy about.

However, since then, there's a new button on the toolbar which I've removed 3 or 4 times now, and it just keeps coming back. That's the Theme Font and Size Changer plugin button.

What can I do to remove that button from the toolbar, so that it stays away?

I guess I could uninstall that plugin, but probably the changes I made with it will go away.

On every page of my website dominicrouse.com I have a javascript menu designed using Sothink DHTML Menu 9.10

Using IE and other browsers the subtleties that I incorporated display perfectly but in FF they are lost.

I am referring specifically to a slow fade up and down and a background transparency that fits neatly into each page.

Any ideas as to how I fix this?

I read all info about my problem but nothing works I dellete totaly FF from notebooks ,even clean regedit. Have last version of flash player and video driver (there is only one version of video driver on vaio support) But it still crashes. Mention when open new site (doesn`t matter heavy or light) in task manager FF eates about 1,2 gb + container plugin 0,8gb , so totally about 2gb of memory for 1 tab !! Suggest something

Some sites and most forums, the threads cannot be read without scrolling the screen back and forth. How can these be set where all information is read without moving screen short of up or down and not side ways back and forth.

I tried to watch the PBS "Newshour" for June 13,2014. I got "skin could not load: Crossdomain loading denied" error. This is the first time this has ever happened. I tried it on IE and all worked fine. The last time I watched the PBS Newshour on FireFox was before the update 29.0.1. is there a fix?

In FF 29, I have a need to change the yellow folder icon associated with one or more specific bookmarks folders. I prefer to do this with css, rather than with an extension. Following an example in another thread, I did the following:

Use the troubleshooting menu to open the profile folder. Create a subfolder named "chrome". In "chrome", create a file called "userChrome.css", and insert the text shown below. Copy sample ico, png and gif images to "chrome" for testing. Save and close the css file, and bounce the browser. No results - for example, in Library view. The "My Saved Links" bookmarks subfolder definitely exists. I suspected that I might be doing the URL wrong, trying to access a small image file in "chrome" called "test.png". I've tried 'test.png', '/test.png', and '../test.png' on hunches, though I'm not yet a heavy css user.

Help would be appreciated. The css is as follows:

When I started firefox today it automatically upgraded to 29.0.1. I do not want this version. How did it update when my settings were to ignore updates? Please advise how to go back to 29.

You Tube and other sites are not playing video on Firefox with Adobe Flash after latest update for both. Adobe Flash is working on other sites but not You tube and those sites that may have embedded You Tube videos, I'm not sure.

Adobe Flash does not crash and no error message is showing. All that shows is a dark screen for the Flash video. Right clicking the screen shows only a non-clickable 'Movie not loaded' and the clickable link to the Adobe home page.

I have spent an hour trying things as suggested for past problems similar to this but none have helped.

I have sent sad face letting you know what I think of the latest update because of this which says pretty much the same thing as I have said here.

I have no further info but if I had some input and queries form you I might be able to provide more.

Honestly, I don't know why developers can't offer us new features which we can use or not use, by choice. Instead, things are forced upon us.

Would someone please tell me how to get rid of the new menu button on the right side of the toolbar?

There doesn't seem to be any option to remove it via the Customize toolbars window.

Occasionally when I go to webpages the entire page will turn black. This most often occurs when scrolling, but can also happen when loading a page or even randomly. Usually, but not always, more scrolling fixes it. shortly after getting these problems Firefox will often crash.

Basically, when ever I click to add a file from my PC to any website or even if I try to launch an .exe I just downloaded from the download manager, my firefox hangs forever and I'm forced to end task.

Firefox crashes constantly. Tried starting it in safe mode, and then disabling the javascript-line. Helped for a few days, but now the crashes are back

After the new firefox update, I cannot play videos from:

1. www.TED.com (like http://www.ted.com/playlists/81/ted_in_3_minutes)

or listen to music from: 1. http://www.air1.com/broadcast/playnow.aspx?media=listen&bt=3&

I contacted AIR1 support and they confirmed there is indeed a problem with playing music from firefox.

I have tried to resolve this by: 1. updating flash 2. uninstalling / re-installing flash 3. safe mode in firefox

When I download a new add-on via the Mozilla add-on site, the add-on will show up in my add-ons manager, but I cannot use it, because it won't show up on my drop-on menu even though the add-ons manager says that said add-ons are enabled. How do I fix this? Also, I can download add-ons that work fine by visiting websites like amazon or dictionary.com where their add-ons pop up in the menu when you visit.

Hi All, I've had at least one crash per week since Version 29 went live. I'm not too happy, especially since the recent crashes seem to have cost me some time periods of my recent History which I might need for tracing references for my writing.

As you can see from the dates the frequency of crashing is way up since the start of May. I know it is only once a week or so, but it is still very annoying - especially when information is being lost. This is bugging me a great deal. I know I have skipped some of the advised steps in the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help web page. but what I'd really like is some clue as to why this is happening. Unfortunately my experience with computer programming only goes so far and I am finding the text of the crash reports incomprehensible - perhaps someone on here could have quick look and see if they can spot something significant. I will say that I am also getting increasing memory usage over time and I have had some hangs and slowdowns during this month as well.

I am beginning to wonder if Firefox has just out specced itself beyond the reach of my seriously old hardware - if this is the case Just tell me and I'll see if I can drop back to an earlier version as I don't like the interface on V. 29 in any case - I have had to use the add-on Classic Theme Restorer to get back to something I can live with and it still doesn't look quite right to me. I should point out that I have Asperger's Syndrome and I cope really badly with changes in my visual environment,

Edited to add: As far as i can tell, all plug ins and extensions are up to date. I can't update my drivers any more for this system as no new ones are being produced for this hardware.
