i need to access my aol and yahoo email like i was always able to do using firefox. now it states security risk and "nothing " you can do? please advise . i need access to my desktop to easliy see my emails and don't like using my phone

When I go to (seemingly) any Elsevier site, the browser tab immediately closes with no error or explanation. An example is this site:

My browser is being managed by "your organization" but I belong to NO organization. How do I regain control of my own browser?

Message reads: "Your browser is being managed by your organization" Please help me regain control of my browser!

I GOT TIRED OF FREQUENT FIREFOX CRASHES (C0000005) IN BOTH THE 64-BIT AND 32-BIT DESKTOP VERSIONS. I HAVE BEEN USING THE 64-BIT VERSION IN WINDOWS 11 (I HAVE A HIGH-END SAGER LAPTOP WITH 32GB RAM. I INSTALLED THE FREQUENT FIREFOX UPDATES BUT THE PROBLEN PERSISTED EVER SINCE VERSIONS 42X WERE RELEASED. I TRIED THE 32-BIT VERSION BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. FINALLED, I TRIED THE DEVELOPER VERSION: NO MORE CRASHES! I READ THE RESPONSES FROM YOUR CLUELESS STAFF TO OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME TROUBLE. THIS IS NOT A WINDOWS ERROR; THIS IS A FIREFOX APPLICATION ERROR. MAYBE SOME OF YOUR FIREFOX DEVELOPER CODERS SHOULD ASSIST THE 32-BIT AND 64-BIT DEVELOPERS. OR, DUMP THE VERSION 4X CODE AND BUILD ON THE MORE STABLE 39X CODE. ALSO, DON'T BLAME WINDOWS FOR FIREFOX APPLICATION ERRORS. AND...NEVER SUGGEST A WINDOWS REINSTALL FOR FIREFOX ERRORS!!!

I noticed recently that my 'Add Shortcut' button has disappeared. I've been through other articles and they were of no help. I have 4 rows selected for shortcuts so theres no reason for it to be gone.

HELP! How do I move the Open Tabs back down to the bottom?? It ended up way up TOP after an Update  :-(

I have recently encountered reproducible failures when attempting to download files or save pages to local storage. The target directory is located on a mounted NTFS file system with the options umask=007, user=root, and group=disk. My Firefox browser is running under a non-root user account that is a member of the disk group. However, I consistently receive the error message: “XXX could not be saved because the source file could not be read.”

I would greatly appreciate anyone's assistance in resolving this issue.

NOTE: I have marked this as "Solved" because I figured out the problem described below, and I fixed it. See my following message here for a description of my solution.

I'm using Firefox 144.0 under Debian Linux. I've used Firefox on this machine for years with no problem. Firefox can easily connect to literally thousands of web servers on the internet, both via HTTP and HTTPS.

But now, I'm having an issue:

I started running a web server on the same machine that Firefox is running on. This server only listens for non-HTTPS connections on port 80. I am not using any proxy server with Firefox.

I can easily and directly connect to my local web server's pages from my local machine from Chrome, w3m, curl, and direct telnet connections to port 80 ... all of which are addressing the publicly accessible domain name for my local web server. However, However, Firefox refuses to connect to any URL's on my local machine, and it gives me the following explanation:

Unable to connect

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at [ my server's domain name ].

   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

In Firefox, I have all auto-forcing of HTTPS disabled by means of Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode turned on.

I get the same error in Firefox whether I connect via a URL like "http://MYFULLDOMAINNAME" or a URL like "http://AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD", where "AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD" is my machine's publicly accessible static IP address and "MYFULLDOMAINNAME" is the long-standing, publicly accessible domain name for my machine ... both with and without a suffix of ":80" on the supplied URL.

And again, all other browsers on my machine have no problem whatsoever connecting to my own local web server on this same local machine of mine using those same URL's.

And all browsers (Firefox and otherwise) that are running on other machines all over the internet have no problem connecting to that same web server via the same URL's that I described above

Also, I have no firewall rules on my machine which would block access to my own machine's port 80.

What could be causing this error in Firefox, and what might I be able to do to fix it?

UPDATE: Just a bit more information. Looking at the web logs, I see that Firefox's request never even reaches my local web server. In other words, Firefox itself is not even trying to make a TCPIP port 80 connection to my local web server in the first place

The launch of Firefox Profiles seems to have obliterated everything in my account: bookmarks, history, open tabs, and extensions are all gone completely. I have an option to import files from another browser, but not from my own past firefox. I logged into my Mozilla account, but I didn't have any other devices so I think it was still unable to recover the data? Is there anything I can do about this, or is all of my data truly gone?

This wave of so-called AI (really nothing of the sort) is a nightmare for security, usability, performance and efficiency and if you keep forcing it on us I'll be jumping ship, probably for whichever fork excising it all gets popular.

I've been using first the Mozilla suite and then Firefox (since it was called Firebird, even) for twenty years now, don't do this to the browser I love.

HOW do I move my Tabs back to the "TOP" of the page where I am used to seeing them?

Is there a way for me to opt out of any new "AI" functionality/features that would otherwise be enabled by default? Like the tab suggestions and perplexity in search. Having AI shoved down my throat from every corner of the internet is kind of frustrating.

I need assistance resolving an issue where videos on YouTube play choppily in Firefox. The playback stutters frequently, even at lower resolutions, while other browsers stream smoothly. I’d appreciate guidance on troubleshooting steps to improve video performance—such as checking hardware acceleration, browser settings, or possible extensions causing the issue.

At the top of my settings it says: Information: Your browser is being managed by your organization.

What does this mean? It's my personal laptop, I bought it myself and I don't work for any organization.
