Firefox won't let me drag-and-drop files from automatically-opened .zip archives into Windows Explorer

I am using Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit (fully updated) and Firefox 68.0 64-bit.

The problem is that when I download any .zip archive and tell Firefox to "Open with... 7-Zip File Manager" (or with Windows Explorer), after the archive has finished downloading and opened in a 7-Zip window (or an Explorer window), I cannot drag-and-drop the file contained in the archive onto a Windows Explorer window or the desktop. No matter where I try to drag the file to, the Windows mouse cursor is always a "cancel" icon and won't let me drop it anywhere.

If I then close the archive window and reopen it from the download folder (C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Temp), now I can drag-and-drop correctly.

I know that this is a problem with Firefox, because if I try the same operation with the same .zip archive using the current version of Tor Browser (8.5.4 32-bit (based on Mozilla Firefox 60.8.0esr)) or with Internet Explorer (11.0.9600.19399) I do not have this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Drag and drop will not work in Firefox but works in all other browsers I have installed. Tried in safe mode but it still won't work. This is getting ridiculous now as there are so many things that you can't now do in Firefox that it's becoming useless ... you HAVE to give users some room to set their own restrictions otherwise the paranoia will turn the browser into a worthless piece of junk

For firefox 63, when I drag-and-drop URL or text into address bar, firefox open the URL or search text with the default search engine immediately.

For pre-quantum versions, when I drag-and-drop URL or text into address bar, I have chance to modify the URL or search phrase or add special char (^ * # @ etc...) to narrow the search result. On the other hand, if I want to open a URL or the default search engine immediately, I can drag-and-drop the URL or search phrase onto a tab.

I like the old behavior more. Is there any way to turn back the behavior of address bar to the same as pre-quantum versions?

When one wants to click on a bookmark in the Bookmarks drop-down menu and moves the cursor down through several levels of categories, but inadvertently briefly moves the cursor outside the menu, no harm is done. The menu stays open until the cursor returns. Not so when one is trying to drag a URL *into* the drop-down menu. The briefest movement of the cursor outside the menu instantly causes the menu to disappear and one has to start all over again. Can this problem be fixed?

A couple of times now, I've been in online forums and put up posts where they ask for additional info. Most times it's a file of a screen grab etc, but when I try to drag the file into the appropriate box on the submission section of the online form, the action fails and the file does not appear.

I've tried this in other browsers, and it works fine but for some reason, FF blocks this action.

My version of FF is: 67.0 (64-bit)

Any assistance solving this annoyance would be helpful. Thanks
