I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

When I try to save a picture or download anyfile, a firefox's download window shows up to choose if I want to open the file or download it, no matter what I choose for the first time = nothing happens at all. But it always works in the second time.

I even restarted Firefox with no add-ons, fresh installed new os.. nothing seems to fix it

Hi there, since some days i encounter problems with downloading pdf-files. I tried this link http://personendatenbank.germania-sacra.de/books and tried to download a file by clicking "PDF" at any of the links there. I wouldn´t work. I see the download in the history (strg-j) but there is no progress. I encountered the same problem at another site.

Is there a problem with downloadlinks beginning with http:// ???

In Chrome for example the link works without any problems

On desktop, there is ZERO feedback that a download has started. This is a core UI element and shouldn't be relegated to add-ons or keeping the download window on screen at all times. Most users have a hard enough time tracking where a download was saved, let alone not knowing that a download even occurred to go looking for a file.

Trying to allow a manufacturers' system scan after suffering longstanding desktop issues but before this can happen I have to download their support assist launcher. So the problem is, the download is blocked after the run/save window with another saying unknown publisher and so refuses to start downloading. The manufacturer says check internet connection. It's fine Now I've allowed the name of the support launcher in firewall via exceptions but it still won't load. Even tried it with firewall turned off. The download Icon TzsetupSfx, is shown in the downloads folder along with its file version 1.2.0.715 and name of publisher. So what can I do to get the download accepted by Firefox. I am having trouble with downloading anything in Firefox. I can't download files from the internet and can't install any add-ins. I always receive a "download failed" message. I have tried all the suggestions in the download issues page, configuring my firewall and reinstalling a clean version of Firefox and nothing works.

Can anyone help me?

Why is it so hard to get some simple help?? Who am I supposed to go to, f****** Geek Squad?

I did have this working, but with the last upgrade of FF it seems to have been lost. I can not find where I can assign a sound file for FF to play on completion of a download. This is just a small nicety.
