When I start firefox its stand loading for a short time, and then comes with an error that its was unable to load the window, retry or close it. No matter what wepside i enter to use its always the same. This happen a few days ago and have been troubleshooting my self since. now i need your own help. I have reinstalled it, reset settings, taking it off and on the firewall. Removed all plugins for it. and always come to same conclution. I got the latets installer from the wepside, to make sure its up to the newest version.

Before this issue, it ran fine, no issues what so ever. and one day i needed it was stuck on this problem.

I am useing it on a laptop. atm returned to chrome for help.

I've installed a new version of Ubuntu Linux and - as recommended on this page's FAQs - backed up my firefox profile, than copied it into the profile folder on the new os. Now Firefox tells me "You've launched an older version of firefox" and forces me to create a new profile :( Also loading the old profile in "about:profiles" leads to the same result

How can i restore at least my passwords? (When i try to copy only 4.db and logins.json from the old to the new profile, i get the same result)

I can't find an "import old profile"-function anywhere...

The download is that I am always movies on the transfer to a good comedy and show us movies because of the news , e-mailed, browser Firefox Android.install and migrate etc

Over the years I have accumulated important links in my Firefox Bookmarks bar and passwords file and it would be a disaster if for some reason my hard drive got compromised and I could no longer access them. Is there any way to copy the data to another set-up, independent of my laptop, from where the data could be retrieved in a usable form for display on another laptop or PC? Thanks.

I use debian and firefox-esr.

I have problem right now!

I used firefox version 105.0.1 for short times, then firefox transformed my profile to new version profile, so now I can't back to 102-esr version again, I have this message:

`Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.`

So i try this command to fix problem

firefox-esr -allow-downgrade

or

firefox-esr --allow-downgrade

But still can't downgrade, So I have to ask could I downgrade? else I have to wait for new esr version?

What's the next firefox-esr version? or release date?

Firefox was lagging everywhere: scrolling, switching folders in bookmarks, switching windows, switching tabs, opening settings, scrolling in settings...just everywhere. So I tried downgrading to v. 113. After downgrading via the ling in settings it still showed v. 114. I uninstalled firefox entirely and downloaded the loader for v 112. I installed it and it went thru whole install process to the point of asking to close and start Firefox. It didn't start. When I clicked on the icon it gave me a prompt that it didn't point to anything and asked if I wanted to delete it. I looked in program files folder but didn't find a folder for Firefox or Mozilla. I installed the developer edition and it worked but I don't want dark dev ed. Please help!

FF would start to load but never completely finish so I forgot & stupidly did the troubleshooting mode or w/e that put me back to default so LOST all my settings, etc.. Strangely it's back "close" to normal except I was using Passbrow which the icon shows on toolbar but greyed out & I can't get it to turn back on. I have the "Old FF Data" folder but following the steps it doesn't show where profile is stored for me to be able to copy the old data TO. IF I can restore the old profile hopefully that would get it back working ALL as it was...but HOW??

The message I received from you is for Windows. I have a MAC.

See picture below. If I try to open up more than one tab, I get multiple home pages.

Is there an adjustment I can make to stop this?

I have Mac 10.12.6 on an "early 2009" 27" iMac. I'm waiting for the new 27/32inch iMac until I upgrade hardware and operating system. The release notes with FF V115 say in part " Users on those operating systems will be migrated to the ESR 115 version of Firefox."

I want to clarify that when I update to FF 116, FF will automatically install the ESR version, or will I need to do this manually? Also, will this update take a long time, like FF will be installing a totally new (ESR) version, rather than "just" the usual update?

I am currently running Firefox on High Sierra 10.13.6 and have been advised that that OS will soon no longer be supported. I did have an option to do an update to ESR 115.1 in my Firefox app, however I was not home for a few days and when I returned planning to do the update it was no longer available. Now it just says my Firefox is up to date with 115.0.2... how can I get the update to the ESR 115.1? Thanks!

I cannot use, update, uninstall, refresh, or reinstall Firefox (and haven't for four or more years). I always get this message: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." But I have (obviously) shut down the computer entirely any number of times in all those years. What can I do? I will be taking college classes and Firefox is one of the few browsers that the college supports.

I download a file. It stops and speaks of a security risk. The website is https, but the file is http. Is there a location I can pre-approve all files from the url to override the objection? Thanks.

Prior to getting some desktop PC upgrades that required a new install of Windows 11 and a new install of Firefox, I backed up my entire PC (yea!).

Now that I have re-installed Firefox, I see that I have none of my saved bookmarks and so I want to restore the Firefox profile - all of it or at least the bookmarks.

I have tried following the Firefox instructions for this, but am apparently not doing it right.

I can't seem to locate the bookmarks file, for starters, in my backed up files. I find the profile but I don't find anything like places.sqlite.

Can someone help me so that I am locating the right (and complete) files, copying them correctly, and then switching to the new/old profile correctly?

I get no warning when auto updates begin installation. I get notified about 1/2 way through the process. The pc (Win 10 pro 64bit) slows to a crawl for 5-10 minutes, then the install finishes, & then it's another 5-10 minutes before the pc is usable.

I would really appreciate a "update is available" notification, which I would agree to at a convenient time. This is really getting to be problematic. Other browsers that do auto updates don't hose my pc.

After updating a W10 laptop from 115 to 116 of FF the user started having problems with getting to different websites (sites they worked on/with regularly). The problem is the cert DB. The doc I found says that it is cert8.db. Actually it is now cert9.DB.

What I had to do was go to task manager and kill a task that was holding the cert9.db file. Then I could rename it (cert9.old.db). Then restarted their laptop and FF came up and started fixing the cert file (as expected). This seems to have fixed their problem.

Hi, I have spent hours this morning trying to diagnose a problem with Firefox Update 115. It is Unstable and I can't Stream Music from Youtube or even Amazon Music. Web pages from sites I use everyday are out of order when displaying text as well. It's a real mess. Now, here's the kicker, I haven't been able to stream my music from both aforementioned websites, but get this, if I use the Incognito Browser, Music streams No Problem. Seems like you guys broke something in the main FF browser. I have spent hours trying to debug this and have concluded that your most recent Update has broken streaming links. I can't rollback the Update and that is even more frustrating. Please Fix This. BTW, your Help Pages really stink. Sorry, but they offer no help when the problem is clearly FF. Because numerous things did not work with version 116, I downloaded previous version of the browser and installed it. When it started it said something like "you are trying to use the previous version so some things may not work, would you like to create a new profile?" and there was a choice "yes" or "exit". So I chose "yes" - because how creating a new profile could mean something bad? But it did - it deleted all my bookmarks and settings. I have used mozilla for years, everything was in it. How to restore the bookmarks and everything back? It, by the way, upgraded itself to 116 anyway.

With the release of the new ESR version, version 115.x.x, the install creates a shortcut in the Windows Start Menu called "Firefox Private Browsing". How can the creation of this shortcut be prevented during install?
