I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

My hp laptop crashed. I was able to remove the hard drive, put it in a sleeve and I trying to find my firefox bookmarks. All of my other files are there. I have tried every path posted online and i still cannot find them. I found two mozilla files but, no bookmarks. Can you assist? I dont know where to look.

About a week ago I started getting these update error messages stating "Update available - Firefox couldn't update automatically. Download the new version". I've also tried clicking "Learn more" on the error message but it's a dead link. Going into the settings for updates I am set to auto update, but when I manually check for updates it says "Failed to check for updates".

The help article on this issue simply tells you to download and manually reinstall Firefox, but I'm having to do this nearly every day. I work in IT myself so I know a "bandaid" workaround when I see one. Is there a solution to this issue?

My update preference for Firefox is to download but I will install it. But it consistenly (over the last numerous updates) changes it to Automatic. I do not want Automatic updates. I want to control when it updates. I do not see this issue addressed anywhere. I have checked numerous times. Please help! My sincere thank you for your time and attention to my request for help. Files will not download. The file is a rfa(revit) file. This is my second day using this web browser..

I have checked setting, to which I switched around to try and troubleshoot. This did not work. I ended up downloading another browser and the file downloaded no issue. Why is this happening? Ant help is greatly appreciated!

Hi jscher2000, I want to thank you for your advice concerning a problem I had downloading Firefox to my Windows 10 laptop. I tried to follow your advice but was not successful. In the end, I googled "what if Firefox doesn't install". It took me to a website, https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-firefox-not-installing-windows , which took me to an article entitled "8 Fixes to Try if Firefox Won't Install on Windows". I tried #1 and #2 without success. #3, Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus Software, worked. Firefox is up and running. Feel free to share this with anyone who has a similar problem. I cannot download & installed any add-ons or themes. After clicking the install button, I always get a red bar saying "Download failed. Please check your connection.". This happens on Firefox, Firefox beta and Firefox nightly.

I did some googling and found similar posts from a few years ago. These seem to suggest I don't have the correct certificate used to verify extension signatures:

I checked my certificates and I don't have anything from "Mozilla Corporation - signingca1.addons.mozilla.org" (there's a screenshot of this cert in the first forum link above), so I think this is indeed the issue? I've attached a screenshot of my cert list where the Mozilla cert should be.

Please note I am on an M3 Pro macbook pro. It's a work laptop and I thought maybe our network settings were interfering with things, but my previous work laptop (Intel) could install add-ons just fine.

Would appreciate some help!

P.S. I found a workaround where I copied over all extension JSON and XPI files from my old laptop. So I am using my previous extensions just fine but still cannot download any new ones. Also I don't have access to my old laptop anymore so can't copy over any new ones.

Since support is being discontinued for W7 Firefox, would someone please recommend the best version of Firefox for Windows 7? Security is not a concern, since I have reliable 3rd-Party security setup(s) for my Windows 7 systems.

I am still on windows10..Recently have used firefox much less. Today when tried it says that firefox is running and the new try is (3) which is on the task manager. Deleted it and tried again same thing. Removed firefox and tried to reload and it wull not load...says it has problems.. May never use firefox again. [removed phone# from public support forum]

I started using firefox actively a year back or something like that, last couple of months it started driving me nuts as it started updating every time I launch it, which is very annoying even if it takes only 10 15 seconds, I sometimes need to check something really quick and I have to wait for it to finish installing an update, even though I checked the setting for it to do so in the background, it seems to only do it after I launch it disrupting my workflow, which made me switch back to Chrome temporarily, is there a way to fix this?

I have been using Firefox for ages and never had a problem - love it - but now I see the remark: Firefox has ended support for Windows 8 and Vista on my screen at the right top corner. It also will no longer update my computer.

I do have and use Windows 10 - so I don't see what is the problem? I tried to refresh and that didn't work either.

Please help because I like to stay with Firefox but I do need to update and keep my computer secure.

I am not very computer savy so please tell me what to do in simple word.
