As the title says i have enabled always ask where to save files but when i try to download files it saves them in my Download files most of the times.I didnt have the problem yesterday. Can you please help.

I have two desktop icons for Firefox. Each opens to a different file. How do I clear the old file? What do I do about the message that Firefox can not update automatically? Where do I look to see Firefox file and see what date it is downloaded? If it is operational? Why is the same series of problems repeating daily?

With the release of the new ESR version, version 115.x.x, the install creates a shortcut in the Windows Start Menu called "Firefox Private Browsing". How can the creation of this shortcut be prevented during install?

I just installed Firefox on a new Windows 11 desktop computer. I ported my profiles over and it appears everything came over EXCEPT: - Themes aren't working. I've tried switching them and they still don't display. The menu bar is black w/white letters; the toolbar is gray with white icons/letters. - My extension icons are there...sort of. If I hover over them I can see the tool tip but the icon doesn't appear on the toolbar which is light gray in color. I can live without the themes if I have to. Not so much the invisible extension icons. Any suggestions as to how I can get them to appear as they do on my Windows 10 desktop? Screen cap below. Cursor is hovered over the Undo Close Tab extension icon but where's the icon? Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this will be appreciated!!

i'd like to copy my Firefox profile from PC1 to a new PC2;

Last time i tried this, i ended up with PC2 having the same "name" as PC1 in "Sync". This caused weird sync issues, as the system thought my PC2 was PC1 as vice versa.

So, is it possible to copy my entire profile with all addons/settings, BUT, make "Sync" recognize it as a NEW pc ?

I am trying to find version 120 for Linux. I haven't been able to find specific versions on the website and it seems to make me go in circles. I need the full install and the rpm for 120. I appreciate any help.

I have problem right now!

I used firefox version 105.0.1 for short times, then firefox transformed my profile to new version profile, so now I can't back to 102-esr version again, I have this message:

`Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.`

So i try this command to fix problem

firefox-esr -allow-downgrade

or

firefox-esr --allow-downgrade

But still can't downgrade, So I have to ask could I downgrade? else I have to wait for new esr version?

What's the next firefox-esr version? or release date?

Tried to download firefox browser. It just says in downloads 'Couldn't download - Virus scan failed'. How do I fix this? I did check that my laptop is updated. Security is updated. Scanned laptop for viruses, got nothing. Restarted laptop. No change.

Prior to update 125.0.1 corporate intranet users could download PDF files from our Line of Business applications / Webpages. Today after the latest update the PDF files download but are corrupted. The site was added to the trusted webpage without improvement.

I bought this laptop because it had Windows 10 so I could download firefox, The laptop immediately updated to Windows 11, no way to stop it. I am locked out of my microsoft account, have been for years. How do I get firefox downloaded ?

How do I uninstall the Firefox icon from the taskbar? The standard article on the Firefox Support website is `How to pin and unpin Firefox from the taskbar on Windows 10 and Windows 11', but it seems to be out of date. It says to right-click on the icon and click on `Unpin from taskbar', but there is no such item in the right-click menu any more.

I know that it became difficult to unpin the Firefox icon about a year ago. I got a new PC recently and installed Firefox, but I could not remove the icon. Then realised that I should have done this during installation, by using 'Custom installation' and unticking the 'Icon on taskbar' option. I searched the web for clues and found none, so I uninstalled and reinstalled, which was a nuisance.

Some months later, I have just installed the new version 110.0.1, but I forgot to use 'Custom install', with the result that the icon is back on the taskbar. Again I have searched the web, and again no success. I tried reinstalling V110.0.1 on top, using 'custom install' this time --- I could switch off the 'Icon on taskbar', but the icon is still there.

I don't want to uninstall-reinstall this time because I have now configured Firefox as I want it, so that would waste a lot of time --- and I will probably forget again sometime in the future.

I am sure that Firefox has not done this deliberately, because they are always so much on the user's side.

QUESTION: How do I unpin the Firefox icon from the taskbar without uninstalling? I have an idea that there is a registry hack that will achieve this.

In the past, FF downloaded documents without opening them in the browser. This is two weeks now that whenever I download a document, FF is now opening the document in the browser without asking me.

I welcome if someone could tell me what I can do to stop FF from opening the documents.

Can I download Firefox and save it to a flash-drive instead of installing it? The computer I need it on has a new install of Windows 7 with IE and it will not browse.

I have been using Firefox now for 8 years with out a problem but now I have one. I have Norton's antivirus and the last 7 scans I have done Norton's had found and quarantined the Trojan Horse virus found in the Firefox program. I have uninstalled Firefox and re installed with a fresh re-load but after 1 day the virus was back in the Firefox program. I really want to use Firefox and am respectfully requesting someone help me re install the program please. I have attached a screen shot for you. Thank you in advance. Bernie. Because numerous things did not work with version 116, I downloaded previous version of the browser and installed it. When it started it said something like "you are trying to use the previous version so some things may not work, would you like to create a new profile?" and there was a choice "yes" or "exit". So I chose "yes" - because how creating a new profile could mean something bad? But it did - it deleted all my bookmarks and settings. I have used mozilla for years, everything was in it. How to restore the bookmarks and everything back? It, by the way, upgraded itself to 116 anyway.

I have a new chromebook (Lenova Duet 3) I can install and use Firefox. I have had Dashlane (password keeper) working fine with Firefox for years. The Dashlane extensions work with Chrome, but I can't seem to get them to work with Frefox. The Chrome search engines choices are limited; ones that I never use with Firefox. Is there something in the Chromebook environment that limits firefox capabilities? (Am I looking for something that just is not possible?) Is there a work around? (Any Linux tricks?) I also have asked the same question of Dashlane, but have not heard back yet. My imperfect solution is use Chrome when it is a known website, and the password is recorded with Dashlane, and to use Firefox for new searches, where the choice of search engines is better.

Has anyone developed a search engine where there are no "sponsored" results. I understand that it would probably not be free.

Two day ago the update wiped out my logins and passwords but not bookmarks I added them from google but they do not save I have reinstalled current an past versions but it will not hold any logins or passwords in memory

For some reason, Firefox just stopped working yesterday. The only way I could get it to work again was to uninstall and reinstall (the refresh option did not work). However, now I've lost all my bookmarks, passwords and customization. I don't care about the customization and losing the bookmarks is an annoyance, but I'd REALLY like to get my passwords back. The installation created a folder of Old Firefox data, but when I open the folders that I think might be helpful, like bookmarkbackups, they are empty. Is there anywhere else I can look where these might have been saved? I did not have a Mozilla account so no profile until now which I just set up in order to access the forum. Thanks for any help you can provide.
