I have started a thread yesterday on this issue on Mozillazine, and I have followed their directions and none seem to solve my problem.

I have downgraded back to Firefox 14.0.1, and these problems do not appear on this version, how do I fix this problem on Firefox 15.0?

About a third of the bookmarks in my bookmarks tool bar has lost their icons. it is replaced by an empty checked border square placeholder.

- 11-12-11 update - Seems like the issue is the new blank favicon image used.  A check of some screen shots from old work, shows the ones I can see were in fact empty then also.

i want to import data like passwords and histroy and bookmarks and everything from rockmelt to firefox i tried to go to import from other browsers but i didnt find rockmelt and also this will not contain passwords and this things so please if you can tell me what is the best way to do this things i need this fast please.

I have been using Firefox in XP & in Ubuntu for many years. I have over 3000 bookmarks in a lot of folders, so this is not new to me. I just installed Ubuntu 11.10 & found Firefox 9.0.1 When I try to add a new bookmark, at the second star-click, the Edit-Bookmark window opens OK, but when I try to select a folder from the drop-down list, then the window is truncated at bottom & at right side. Clicking on a target folder highlights it OK but I can not see any button for confirming, so nothing is saved to right folder. All attempts end up in unsorted bookmarks. Screenshot below. I have tried just about everything to get my bookmark folders in to alphabetical order most are right but at the bottom of the list there are quit a few folders that are not. I have tried the organize bookmark command than the view than sort than by name but it just wont do it.

In Firefox 5 on exporting HTML files, two unnecessary elements are included for each web page entry; namely, < DT >< A HREF="http://www ... ICON_URI=" ... /favicon.ico" ICON="data:image/png;base64 , ... < /A >

These two elements (ICON_URI and ICON) add significantly to the storage size of the bookmarks.html file which keeps getting larger and larger.

These two elements are not necessary in my opinion. Please remove those two elements: the ICON_URI=" ... /favicon.ico" and the ICON="data:image/png;base64 , from the bookmarks.html file structure; or at least give an option for their inclusion or not in the exported HTML file.

The application tab under Tools -> Options does not register swf.In addition, Downloaded files only recognize IE for a suitable playing platform.

I've noticed that when I click on a bookmarked website it doesn't stay highlighted when the website opens. If I bump the slider bar next to the bookmark sidebar it then highlights the active website. How do I keep the active website highlighted without touching the slider bar?

I cannot set it to gmail or anything else. Under Tools/Options/Applications, there is no mailto in the list of applications. How do I set one up?

This has only just started to happen every time I open a new tab I get boxes coming up showing all my history I can click in the corner and it all goes away and leaves a little box but i never had this b4.

B 4 this happened i would open a new tab and it would be all white how can I get it back this way ?

I'm now having this problem with FireFox 10.0.2, 03/11/2012

When I click on Add Folder, a new folder appears in the tree and the folder name field is highlighted for input. But when I start to type characters in the field, I can only type 1 or 2 chars at the most before it stops accepting input. I have to then go into the Bookmarks menu, locate the new folder, right click on it, click on Properties, and complete entry of the folder name.

At worst, the folder name field will stop accepting input as soon as I type the first char, in which case the folder name will remain as "New Folder". I locate the new folder in the Bookmarks menu to change the name as described above.

This is very annoying because it adds a number of extra steps just to add a new folder to the bookmarks menu. Adding the new folder via "Show All Bookmarks" and navigating the folder tree is another workaround but that doesn't save any steps.

Any ideas or solutions?

I'm running nightly 14.0a1 currently on Windows 7 x86.

My firefox with the bookmarks tab visible looks like this with it in the same row as open tabs in the top right corner:

It's the easiest to access and most convenient position.

It started recently when I was still using version 13 something and just updated to 14.0a1 today but it didn't fix the problem. It just randomly disappeared and to get it back I have to open up the customize window, do nothing but click "done" and it reappears. I don't have to add it back or anything, as it's visible when I open the customize window. This happens every time I reopen firefox.

Not just on the toolbar, but ALL bookmark icons. I hate them. Don't need them.

Is there a simple setting somewhere in Firefox to handle this? If not, perhaps it might be something they'd consider adding in the future to turn them off in the options or something?

The only thing I've seen so far here is an add-on that removes them from the toolbar. I want them all gone from all bookmark menus and prefer not to have to install further 3rd party apps to get this done.

I am running XP, Firefox 16.0.1 and Flash Player 11.4.402.287 and have Firefox configured to "Clear history when Firefox closes", with "Cookies" (amongst other options) checked in the "Settings for Clearing History". I also have Flash Player configured to "Block all sites from storing information on this computer."

As I understand things, starting with Firefox 4 and Flash Player 10.3, having Firefox configured this way should cause Flash cookies to be deleted upon exiting Firefox. I also understand that even though I have Flash configured as I do, a list of sites that attempt to plant a Flash cookie will still be recorded in the main settings.sol cookie.

I have noticed, though, that this list of empty Flash cookies is not deleted the first time I exit Firefox; rather, the list is deleted after launching and then exiting Firefox again.

Here's a step-by-step example:

1) Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> confirm that the list is empty

2) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manage

3) Launch Firefox -> go to www.hulu.com and click on a video to start it playing

4) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> confirm that the list shows www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block

5) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manager

6) Exit Firefox

7) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> NOTE THAT THE LIST STILL SHOWS www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block

8) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manager

9) Relaunch Firefox

10) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> NOTE THAT THE LIST STILL SHOWS www.hulu.com, 0 bytes, Block

11) Exit the Flash Player Settings Manager

12) Exit Firefox

13) Relaunch Control Panel -> Flash Player -> Storage tab -> Local Storage Settings by Site... button -> NOTE THAT THE LIST IS NOW EMPTY

So again my question is - why isn't this list emptied the first time around?

When I click on "Bookmarks" the drop down list flashes momentarily and is then not viewable. If I hover the cursor over the list, each bookmark will flash momentarily and then not be viewable. The list is actually still there because when I hover where it should be, the hyperlink is shown in the lower left of the window.

Even though the setting to save passwords is checked and I am not in private browsing mode the "pop-up" prompt to save passwords does not appear anymore. Some sites do not allow this function however, it does not appear on any site (sites that work with a firefox 10 on a different computer and also chrome on the same computer).

I found 2 similar questions from 10 mo. ago on forum, ea. w/ 25-30 additional people experiencing the prob. 2 weeks ago i asked about 2 problems, have been unable to repair them. Now focussing on this one only. Session restore does not function after quitting, and Restore previous session, recently closed tabs, recently closed windows all grey. I've tried everything short of uninstall/reinstall FF. Was suggested to create new profile w/o corrupted files, but I've no idea what's corrupted. I'm no geek, but can usually follow instructions. however, my concentration is impaired, so I'm really afraid of making things worse.
