I hate how now when I use Cmd-L or click on the location/search bar, it 'magnifies' or gets bigger. I find it gets in the way of the bookmarks bar. I don't need this, find it aesthetically unpleasant, and would love to be able to turn it off. I'm sure it was a 'feature' that was added in some recent update - why not make it configurable? Or maybe it is and I can't see how to adjust it?

So, on my Firefox setup I use two extensions to circumvent website blocking in my country - one is an extension to make a specific website always available. The other is AnonymoX which I use for general purposes.

A few days ago I upgraded to Firefox 71.0 as well as updated my Windows 10 to the latest 1903 version. Today I noticed that both extensions have stopped working. AnonymoX just doesn't work, whereas the other plugin, upon activation, says (translated) "Conflict detected! Proxy settings are controlled by a different plugin or cannot be set up" Trying to circumvent a block (and only then - unblocked websites work fine) now either redirects me to the ISPs blocking page, or alternatively produces a "Secure Connection Failed PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR" message after a long TLS handshake. Running the same extensions in Chrome does not reproduce the issue - blocked websites become accessible as usual. The issue also persists for three different connections - a public wi-fi network, a private network and a tethered 4G connection, all served by different ISPs. Finally, I am not running any anti-virus software or firewall. Thus this seems to be a Firefox issue and not a system or network issue.

This also doesn't seem to be an issue with the country's blocking system itself because other users around me are still able to circumvent blocks using the same extensions and I am able to circumvent blocks using a similar extension on my Android phone with a local SIM.

Things I've tried so far: 1) Made sure that both Windows and Firefox are set to not use a proxy

2) Reinstalled the extensions

3) Created a different profile in Firefox. The extensions don't work in the new profile either, although the PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR does not appear - I just always get redirected to the respective ISPs block page

4) Cleared all cache, cookies, site settings etc.

5) Deleted the cert9.db file and let Firefox recereate it

So far nothing has worked. I'm frankly at a loss here. I have half a mind to just reinstall Firefox altogether since this is not my main PC and losing bookmarks wouldn't inconvenience me on it, but figured I'd ask here before.

LastPass was installed and running until Firefox automatically upgraded to ver. 71 and now it's been disabled. Even though LastPass is a "recommended" extension, when I try to re-install from Mozilla I get the message "an unexpected error occurred during installation" (see attached file). LP users report the same problem on their site but it's clearly a Firefox 71 problem (LP works fine will all my other browsers).

Firefox offers the option to "Fill login" through the context menu (see attached image) when ever in a login or password field. However I am using Bitwarden instead of the Firefox password manager and disabled saving passwords in Firefox. Is there a way to remove this "Fill login" action as it always just shows that no logins are saved?

Thanks, Mattias

Setting up a new LG laptop. Downloaded Flash and Shockwave Flash but they don't appear in my add-ons. Looked on the add-on pages but cannot find any that activate either. I have it on another laptop and it works fine (Shockwave Flash 32.0.r0). Even searched for that exact add-on but it returns no such program. The icon for Flash (on the URL line) doesn't appear on any page. Obviously, I can't play on-line games or watch any content unless Flash is available. FireFox is updated to the latest version as is Win10. Using WebRoot and Malwarebytes. Any ideas as to why this is?

CTRL + W is the keyboard shortcut to close the active tab. This works fine if the tab isn't pinned, but if I press CTRL + W on a pinned tab, it just cycles to the next tab. This isn't ideal. The shortcut should close the tab regardless of whether it is pinned (as it does in other browsers). Anyone know why Firefox does this / is it intentional behaviour?

I do not care for how the address bar swells in size. I find it annoying and not useful as I use a separate search bar which is the ONLY reason I use Firefox instead of Chrome. Please tell me how to revert back to the previous was this worked. This is one new feature that I find annoying as it hides part of the items underneath it.

I installed the Honey add-on. It's an app that will find coupon codes when you purchase online. I realized after a while that none of the codes it had were working, so basically, it's useless. I went to the add-on tab, clicked "remove" and thought that would be the last of it, however there was a small popup window for the app that wouldn't go away. Checking the help section of Firefox, I proceeded to manually uninstall the app by its code. Shut down Firefox, delete the code started up Firefox and now I have a blank pop-up window. The app is gone, I think, but I still have this popup that I can't close. If I right click on the Firefox logo in the dock, I see the open Firefox tab and a tab labeled about:blank Mozilla Firefox. I'm using a Mac with Catalina. Any suggestions?

hello, I am a total unexperienced with this whole digital chaos.

Let me start beginning, i changed a few months ago from chrome to edge, at least i tried, only a few minutes said microsoft and everthing would be the same but in this special browser for Windows 10 special. I started at 16.00, only 5 minutes microsoft said, and ended at 00.4 in the morning later. From about 60 passwords i got back 5, from porn sites. Any way there was more damage made then in 5 minutes away from edge. Then you have to call a so called it student company hoe comes at your home now they also use teamviewer. And after the kid has to find out all kinds of trouble so after 3 hours i was back with chrome and 100 euros gone. I have two questions. In windows you can choose your browser, and when i want firefox i se that there are 2 firefox . And they are different, i think one has to go, cause my vpn doesnt works aigaints one and one says you dont use firefox as default brser and one of the 2 says the opposit. I am sure that one of the two has to go or am i paranoid thanks to the bullshit that 70% of the common people also got after these every time chanching invite the most stupid and useless nonses. Well i am sure that you will have no idea what i mean cause thats another bad change, you talk with machines, nobody can help me with instalating gpwin , pgp., And also, i have so many questions that it would take 1 week to explain by writing. Why cant we talk with people anymore, exccept apple i heard. i am thinkgen to by my next lap there, i have an i pad that never has problems and this shit from microsoft en these these fuckbook ang google is greatest monster. Have a nice day and i see if i ever get answer. that would be a wonder. Dont give me links with days studiying cause i dont want to learn, i am totaly not intersted in it, but i am forced by society. Regards xxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx x x.xxxxxxxx@ xxxxxx.xx Stupid phone +xxxxxxxxxxx but nobody use a phone for phonecalls but for making selfies.

I can't watch Amazon Prime videos using Firefox 76.0 - 32 bit on Linux Mint 19.3 - 32bit. I do appreciate that this became a long standing battle, judging by the archived material but has the towel now been thrown in? Root cause seems to be that the Widevine plugin has been withdrawn from Firefox and that being so, there must be a good reason.

When the question was archived with a tick was placed on the best answer. That the Widevine plugin can no longer be added from within Firefox, suggests to me that it is now game over. Am I being too pessimistic?

I don't want work-arounds that never seem to last long in this area, ideally I am looking for a permanent fix on the lines that Google will co-operate and promise not to move the goal-posts without supplying the information needed to Mozilla in order to update Firefox first, so that the Widevine plugin can be made available once again and all be covered under Linux updates.

An outright refusal in the above assessment, if correct, would at least demonstrate that the matter was political and that the solution to it is necessarily political too. Something that could likely gain traction in Europe at least.

Any reply welcome, thanks.
