I installed one of the ad blockers, I can't remember which one. It's given me so much trouble that I thought to disable or delete it. I deleted the little icon ( a stop sign) that shows up on the far right of one of the menu bars (don't know the name of that bar but here it's the second one down). But websites still complain that I have an ad blocker. I've gone to 'add-ons and themes' but I can't find it. BTW, what's the difference between an add-on, a plug-in and an extension? Which one of those are ad blockers? How can I see and then delete whichever blocker I still have? Without the icon I can't even disable it for individual sites.

I am attempting to copy values from one google sheet to another and am unable to do so effectively as whenever I press crtl +shift + c I open the the developer tools. All my efforts on looking for a solution have lead me to unsupported extensions so I'm stuck wondering what to do.

How do I stop firefox from automatically downloading files from the internet when I click on them - without even asking me if I want to download them in the first place. In "Applications", selecting "Always Ask" in "Choose how firefox handles files etc" does not work. Firefox never asks. If it cannot be disabled, I will have to stop using Firefox.

I'm a new user to Firefox on my Mac. I don't see a Share button that would allow me to email the current web site to a friend. Looking for help on the web, I see:

To access the feature, simply click on the Share button on the toolbar. The Share button looks like a paper airplane and is located to the right of the address bar.

but I just don't see any button or icon that looks like that.

I went into View > Toolbars > Customize Toolbars and didn't see a way to add a Share button. I clicked 'Restore to Defaults' and that didn't help.

I know I can choose File > Share from the menu but I'd rather have a toolbar item.

Firefox has the option to "choose where to save files to" on its options, which I have activated. It works for pretty much every file format/extension EXCEPT PDFs. When I open a PDF on Firefox, it is automatically saved to the downloads folder, overriding my own settings. This is pretty annoying, I wondered if there was a way to choose individually like I do for all my other files.

While using firefox with mac trackpad or magic mouse it's really easy to accidentally middle click to a tab and close it. It's really frustrating to loose a tab. I guess it wouldn't be so hard to put an option to disable that function. That would make life so much easier. And there are LOTS of requests for the same thing in this site many of them more than years old.

Previously I've been able to select search suggestions using the keyboard when typing into a search bar. As of a few days ago this no longer works on some sites like YouTube, but does work on others like Google. The issue is not to do with num lock or scroll lock, and my browser is up to date (124.0.1 Ubuntu Snap version).

Hello, there's something about new tabs that's been annoying me for a while now.

Whenever I open a new tab to search either with Ctrl+N or"+" icon, I have to manually click on the search bar, or do ctrl + L. I don't know if this has always been the case, but I often find myself opening a new tab, entering the query, and then realizing that the search bar wasn't selected and then begrudgingly having to re-enter the query.

I wonder if there's a setting in about:config that enables the search bar to always be selected whenever I open a new tab; if so, please let me know.

I'm seeking assistance with disabling the browser contextual menu specifically on SHIFT+Right Click for my webpage. While this functionality is working as intended on other browsers, Firefox seems to be an exception. Is there a recommended approach to achieve this on Firefox? I have the Dark Reader extension, because white screens HURT MY EYES. This is an accessibility issue! ALL of your support pages do not recognize or respond to the dark reader extension, and leave the page backgrounds WHITE! I can barely stand to write this! UGH! Thank you for fixing this!

There are almost 30+ opened tabs in my firefox at any given time. So I scroll over them using muse wheel. But for each notch of mouse wheel scroll, almost 6~7 tabs move left/right.

I would like change this number to 1 tab per notch of mouse wheel scroll.

Is this possible through editing any flags?

How can you find the place to compose and send an email. This may be the 16th time I've asked. Used to be on the header of the email listing to compose. You clicked it and a form showed up. Now there is no place you can send an email unless you go to the list of all the emails you've ever sent and then send from there. If you have a new email person not on the listing, can you install an app on the header above the inbox email or somewhere like we used to get before you changed the appearance of how the emails look. I want certain extensions to be able to run in private windows, but not in normal windows. For example, I would browse normally without a VPN extension, and when I open a private window, the VPN extension would be enabled.

I'm using a PC with windows 11 and my Firefox is up-to-date 124.0.1 (64 bits).

1- It's been several years since a "full screen <=> rest of page" transition was implemented on youtube (using the scroll wheel for example). Is there a way to completely hide YouTube's vertical scrollbar in full screen mode?

I've checked with Opera and Edge browsers and their behaviors are normal in my mind, as the bar is simply hidden in full-screen mode, no matter where I move the cursor. https://ibb.co/nkJzb8S

On Firefox, it is hidden but only if you don't move the mouse or hold the cursor over the scroll bar. https://ibb.co/VW3JTzp Is this an expected behavior in Firefox?

Otherwise, I've tried a couple of "hide scrollbar" style add-ons, but nothing worked, at least for this particular vertical bar, in full screen mode. I also tried the Troubleshoot mode, and to delete the internet cache with no more success. Hi there - Every website seems to come up in English, ie Firefox seems to be translating other languages automatically. (My version is Firefox for Mac 123.01 64-bit.) I am wondering how I can prevent automatic translation of websites. I have had a look in preferences etc, but I do not see anything there to prevent automatic translation.
