As stated. Opening a tab with the button or shortcut locks up Firefox. I have tried refreshing and then reinstalling Firefox, but this has not helped.

I have nothing but problems with firefox since the last new updates. Sites hang, gmail can't be accessed, it takes 100x longer for sites to load, firefox uses huge amounts of memory and CPU, etc, etc.
I am so fedup spending valued worktime having to solve firefox issues each time they decide to make updates - which seems to be more and more frequent. How can I roll back to a previous version and permanently disable any further updates?

The attached screenshot is what I got from loading Firefox to ask this question. Multiple scans of my computer using Norton 360 -- including the Startup Scan -- have found nothing awry.
The operating system is Windows 11 Pro Edition Version 24H2 (OS Build 26,100.6584.) Firefox says it is fully up to date.

When Firefox ver. 143.0.4 (64bit) is opened, I see many tiny groups of black dots withing the whole of the desktop display of this Firefox. From these black dots I see coloured lines traveling across the desktop within the Firefox desktop display. As I move the mouse these coloured lined move, disappear, and move around. Can you offer any suggestions. I am using Ubuntu UALinux Gamepack 22.04, The version of Firefox is an upgrade provided by Firefox updates. I have tried to uninstall this version of Firefox, same effect occuring. I have manually deleted every referance to Firefox, as this worked in UALinux Gamepack 20.04. I have used sudo apt update, sudo apt upgrade, sudo apt --fix-broken install, and sudo dpkg --configure -a. None of these can fix this problem. I restarted my Firefox today with the same problem, and found in the Help dropdown menu, and found troubleshoot mode. When I opened in troubleshoot mode, all these problems are not there any more.
Can you offer any help ??????
P.S. I tryed to take a screenshot of this problem, but the screenshot doesn't show this problem ?

I opened a new Firefox session (closed the previous one properly using the “Exit” option, without force-killing it) and had only 4 tabs open:
One YouTube video at 1080p One bookmaker site that may have a 240p video playing Two Flashscore tabs (static pages, no video)
When I end all firefox.exe processes, the Task Manager shows that about 10 GB of RAM is freed.
How can just four tabs be using that much memory? Please help me with this issue.
Thank you!

Dear Community,
Using Cloud applications via browser and my mail webbased I have Firefox installed. This browser was in my opinion always the better choice, but last months I experience strange behavior, cache issues, freezing pages, crashing tabs which is very annoying and frustrating when working in the cloud. In the same session it is possible that I suddenly can't open objects anymore or click on URL's, buttons not reacting or even can't login again, even when I just was logged in successfully. After refreshing and restarting the browser or sometimes even after restarting my device, everything is working properly again for a while. The same issues I have when using the incognito browser, especially when I use this for cloud application for example. I can't explain and my questions are: - anyone experiencing, familiar with and or know of this same kind of browser behavior and - if yes, how to solve this?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Aad

Have been having an issue for the past month or two where if left in the background firefox will slowly start to eat up my available ram. I was using it like this perfectly fine for years previous to now.
I dont have this issue when I'm actively using it, only when I tab away from it and specifically its not on screen. Once I tab back to firefox the ram usage immediately dips back down to normal. I have tried many things to try and solve this like doing a clean install of firefox, getting rid of extensions, clearing my browser cache, closing all other apps to verify it was just firefox, clearing my history, turning on hardware acceleration. Nothing seems to help, im really at a loss and I don't understand what changed besides it being updated in the past couple of months.
My computer is fairly heavy duty and I have 16gb of ddr4 ram that again was working perfectly fine to run firefox before these past couple of months. As a result of this issue however if left in the background for too long on accident firefox uses up all my idle ram and starts causing other programs to not be able to run and has even crashed my computer previously when trying to run a program like clip studio paint.
I have noticed that while running the firefox task manager there is definitely some difference in memory usage when i tab back in after letting it be in the background so I have attached screenshots of the regular usage while tabbed in and the captured usage when i tab back in.
Any possible solution is welcome because I really enjoy using firefox and i dont want to have to switch browsers unless absolutely necessary.
when are you going to fix the flickering mouse pointer? if it does not get fixed soon, I will switch to a different browser

When I try to shut down or restart firefox (fully updated) the file in my system monitor called firefox-bin persists. I have to end or kill the process there to turn off the browser. Due to this situation, I cannot restart the browser in troubleshoot mode or anything else. It's cold start or nothing. 99% of what I use firefox for is youtube. There are a couple of channels that when I open a video, the page will not fully load and will not play. The comments won't load either. Also, while those tabs are open my CPU usage skyrockets and memory maxes out...which freezes the computer. It's not all channels.. maybe 4 so far. I've manually turned off all extensions/themes, rebooted and tried again.. no joy. Full system freeze. I've tried to do a clean reinstall over the old files in the Linux terminal.. it just says it's already updated. I could be doing that wrong since the instructions I found on this site only apply to windows and mac machines and I was kind of winging it. Thoughts on what I can do to fix things?
There's a button below this box that suggests sharing browser data.. I'm not using firefox right now, so that wouldn't help.

For the past few weeks, my PC reliably crashed after a few chess games on chess.com with Firefox. GPU and Memory benchmarks are running through without issues, it did crash when starting a Steam game once before, but I wasn't able to find out why. At this point, I'm really curious to learn about what could possibly cause this, but don't really know where to look for it. Really wondering what special thing is happening after a game there that doesn't happen with other websites/browsers. Would really appreciate your help!
Running Wayland on Archlinux 6.15.7 with AM5 CPU and DDR5 memory. Sometimes wondering if it's a graphics issue since my display is connected via the iGPU, but I also have an NVIDIA graphics card installed that I use for games sometimes.

I am running Firefox on Windows 10 64-bit, and I have lots of windows and tabs open. Occasionally I will get a message from Windows that I am running low on disk space. Recently I got the message, and I saw on my C-drive" "336,044,032 bytes free". After I did an Exit in Firefox, I saw "10,082,402,304 bytes free". The space that was freed was in the pagefile.sys file. Is this normal?

Updated to esr 128.14 Now Reddit (Redgifs) Hosting site for gifs crashes Firefox and cripples my PC. I've tried restarting in safe mode, then refreshing Firefox. Nothing is working. Reddit support just has an issue with the Gifs not playing, but nothing as extreme as what iam experiencing. I believe it may be something is preferences or a codec or something that was changed in the recent update. Any advice/ help would be great. Edit: OS is windows 10 latest updates Amd- Ryzen 7/32gig 3.20 ghz PC. So can handle a little bit of heavy browsing.. FF 128.14 esr Ext- Ublock Origin

Firefox kept eating my RAM, running dozens of processes. I have gone into about:config and set the dom.ipc.processCount to 1 - then I restarted Firefox and found 5 processes running straightaway before even using the browser. I closed it down and have started it again and now there are 11 processes running with just one tab open. Firefox(9044) Utility(7552) JavaScript oracle Network (15912) Data Decoder (11364) GPU (18744) About pages (12536) Preloaded new tab Extensions (20544) Preallocated (16132) Preallocated (13780) Preallocated (16044)
The problem repeats on three different computers which are not infected with malware. One computer with slightly less RAM I now cant even use Firefox at all (though all other browsers work fine) because the tabs constantly crash due to the high number of processes. Is there any way to set the process limit low in a way that Firefox actually responds to?

I noted in the multiple firefox accounts the following Group or User Names in the Details section. Are these normal or could they be the source of my problems???
