Greetings,

I visit a website every day. One of the features is a gallery of pictures. On a gallery display page, there are settings which control how the gallery is displayed. I can have them sorted by things when the pics were posted, filename, etc. I can also set how many pictures I want on a page.

I have been told that these display features are stored in cookies from the site.

The issue is that on the first page of the gallery, I set my display preferences which are sort by posted date, and 24 per page. I then refresh the page. Things work perfectly. Then I click next to go to the next page. After the new page is displayed, I find that the display settings have reverted to the default ones that I initially changed away from.

I opened FF Developed mode and looked at the cookie list. I used the inspector feature to find the cookie that was associated with the sort selection. There was one for per page (ppperpage). However, it looked like this:

ppperpage=a%3A7%3A%7Bi%3A0%3Bi%3A24%3Bi%3A1%3Bs%3A1%3A%22d%22%3Bi%3A2%3Bi%3A9999%3Bi%3A3%3Bs%3A3%3A%22des%22%3Bi%3A4%3Bi%3A0%3Bi%3A5%3BN%3Bi%3A6%3BN%3B%7D

None of the other cookies looks like this and that is why I am asking about cookie corruption.

If I delete the ppperpage cookie, and then use the set cookie to establish ppperpage 24, when I look at the cookie list everything looks OK. Now if I go from one page of the gallery to the next and look at the gallery display settings have reverted to the initial ones. And then if I look at the cookie list I see two ppperpage cookies, the one that I set and the one above has reappeared.

This is getting very bothersome and many others who use this gallery site are experiencing the same problem of losing the chosen settings as they advance to the next page of the gallery.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I looked at my Privacy settings, then showed all cookies. There are several, but I wanted to keep a few. I clicked on one, then pressed SHIFT to click another, but no luck. So I pressed CONTROL while clicking, and still no luck. The button choices are to delete all or selected. Call me naive, but I assumed Selected includes one or more. This is fairly universal on the Internet, within APPs, etc..

I read HELP, and it looks like it's limited to just ONE cookie at a time or ALL cookies. Firefox, please enhance the functioning so SHIFT key can select more than one cookie to delete.

Hello,

When I delete Firefox (55.0.3) Cookies, Adobe Flash player (27.0.0.130) settings come to default (Allow/Ask...), although I've checked the "Block" option. It's the first time I face such an issue.

Is it only for me (Win 10 pro 64bit v.1607) ??

Thank you!

I KNEW this would be a huge mistake. Now I can't delete individual cookies. The "manage data" option only brings up a list, with no drop down menu as described and no option to delete individual cookies. I want to uninstall the latest update because it degraded the functionality of the system. I'd hate to go to another browser, but that seems to be the next step.

I'm really frustrated that the Mozilla organization has so little respect for users. It didn't seem that way in the past.

Now the browser version Firefox Quantum Extended Support Release 68.4.1esr (32-bit) for Alt Linux is installed on my computer. Upon request by the POST method in the specified browser from the Apache server on the same computer loads a static web page with the following META tag in its header: <META HTTP-EQUIV="Set-Cookie" CONTENT="name=password; PATH=/"> After that, cookies must be created in the browser. Really they are created - in other browsers (Chrome and Opera), but for some reason they ceased to be created in the Firefox browser. What is the reason for this and is it possible to resume and track their creation in Firefox? I would be grateful for any answer on this question.

Hi,

I'm wondering how to keep cookies from certain website when Firefox closes, for example I'm spending some time on www.kongregate.com it's a website with flash games and as you may suspect I'd like to keep my progress from those games for future visits, however whenever I close Firefox it automatically deletes files from "C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\########\assets.kongregate.com\", that file has saves from games from kongregate and I want to keep that, anyway I'll post a list of my Privacy settings to help you help me achieve what I'm writing here about also "ON" means that box has check mark and "OFF" that it doesn't:

Tracking:

-Tell websites I do not want to be tracked - ON

History:

-Firefox will: Use custom settings for history

-Always use private browsing mode - OFF

-Remember my browsing and download history - OFF

-Remember search and form history - OFF

-Accept cookies from sites - ON (I've added www.kongregate.com as well as *www.kongregate.com* to exception list with "Allow" option)

-Accept third-party cookies - ON

-Keep until: I close Firefox

-Clear history when Firefox closes - ON

Location Bar:

-When using the location bar, suggest: Nothing

Options for "Clear history when Firefox closes

When I quit Firefox, it should automatically clear all:

History:

-Browsing History - ON

-Download History - ON

-Form & Search History - ON

-Cookies - ON (Corrected typo)

-Active Logins - OFF

-Cache - ON

Data:

-Saved Passwords - OFF

-Site Preferences - OFF

-DownThemAll! History & Queue - OFF (Not that this one matters)

-Offline Website Data - OFF

These are my current settings which I believe should allow me to keep cookies from kongregate while other cookies are being deleted, but if that is not the case please tell me which options should be set at what to allow me keep cookies from kongregate, if it is not possible to have that then please suggest me some extensions that would allow me to keep cookies from kongregate while deleting others.

Thanks in advance!

I've noticed that every time Firefox is shut down in an unexpected way (for example if Firefox crashes, if there is a power failure or something else), all my cookies appear to be removed. When I open Firefox the next time, my tabs are restored, but no cookies seem to have been remembered. There is no problem at all when I close Firefox normally.

What could the cause of this problem be? Is there a way of solving it?

I followed the instructions provided by Mozilla. IT DOESNT WORK. No matter what I do, if I type in the Location bar... also called the Address bar... also called the Awesome bar... should have been called the Useless bar... old websites show up that I have not visited in over a year. Even though I clear my history every few days. Yes I select EVERYTHING as my timeline. Yes I click BROWSING AND DOWNLOAD HISTORY. Still whenever I type anything into the Useless Bar, old websites are suggested. How do I clear this and make it never do this again? How do I get the guy who designed the Useless Bar fired?

(On another note... why do I need to provide an eight-letter password with at least 1 number? If I want a weak password that's MY risk. What do you care? Also, if every website asks for an eight-letter password with at least 1 number you're actually making it easier to hack because I'm restricted on coming up with new passwords personal to me since I have to remember them and you make it so complicated.)

I am set up to delete history/cookies on close. However, there are several sites which I want the cookies to be saved. These accounts send a 'code' if their cookies are gone. Putting sites in exceptions doesn't work. I found a way years ago, but a script error required I refresh Firefox.. I see this question asked before but responders didn't seem to understand what the issue was as it addressed session cookies or recommended putting site into Exception, which does not work.

I am having an issue with Firefox on two of my computers , on the same website, which is a website that I own. To start with, no one else has an issue using Firefox on it, to my knowledge, and I checked with my tech on the site, as well as the host to see if there are any issues. I also checked with Norton, and disabled it , and it didn't resolve.

While I am on the site, I can navigate a couple of times, and I get the message whether I want to leave or stay on the page. The next choice I make, I get a problem re directing error. I have to clear the cookies and cache before I can sign back on , and I get the error again.

I also renamed to old the cookies.sqlite. That cleared it up for a bit until the file got corrupt again. I can use Chrome with no issue on my site, but Firefox is my default browser and I prefer to use it on everything.

I really need to resolve this situation. Please help....Thanks...Steve

I mainly use firefox in using blogger.com. Very recently google changed some setting and now we're signed in unless we specifically sign out. I only use IE for blogger for replying to comments, and I noticed after my last xomment, IE kept pre-loading my name and e-mail. So when I posted to the blogger help forum, I found out about the change. Notwithstanding I was pretty sure I signed out from IE and blogger didn't itself sign me out.

THEN yesterday, I noticed firefox was now preloading my name/e-mail AND password. I'm getting angrier and angrier. With IE, if I go to blogger with inprivate browsing, it doesn't preload. BUT yesterday I tried the firefox private browsing window and it was STILL preloading my e-mail At that point....

Just before I came here I checked my firsfox settings and I have it set to clear history and cache when I close the browser. I looked at my cookies and only saw one - and it wasn't from blogger.

What can I do to address this? I DO NOT WANT BLOGGER/GOOGLE TO REMEMBER ME, PERIOD, Any help out there?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, Firefox 58.0.2 In the privacy caregory, if I want to delete just my cache or cookies or history, etc, I can't make any choices. If I check OR uncheck just one item [cookies, cache, history, site preferences, etc, ANY item] the 'clear now' and 'cancel' buttons both disappear, making it impossible to clear anything at all. If I check or uncheck what I just did, the buttons stay gone. I have to close out of F/F and come back in. I just don't always want to dump every item I'm offered. Any ideas? Many thanks {;-) Mike
