I have long used Firefox as my main browser. Yesterday afternoon (2/10/22) Firefox seemed to totally forget me 1)would not respond to Google 2)lost stored info for me like my facebook page, email entry, volleytalk, etc. 3)general question is that Firefox seems to frequently have changes to its program...if user does not want it, Firefox is relentless in asking for approval of change, asking over and over and over

My laptop took an update on 2/8/22 and my Firefox stopped working. The toolbars showed up, but nothing in the main window and most sites wouldn't open. I uninstalled and reinstalled. It would work correctly for a couple of sites, but would just stop working. Only the toolbars (bookmarks and search) were on the screen. I removed the app data for Mozilla and uninstalled and re-installed again. It again worked normally, but only for a few minutes. Just toolbars and a white main window. My laptop was running Windows 10 when this happened. I went ahead and installed Windows 11 and did another re-install. Same thing. It worked for a short time and then quit. It doesn't seem to matter if I sign in and sync or not. I hope there's a fix for this. I love my Firefox! I'm using a different computer to send this. It is a Windows 10 machine that has the same update, and Firefox is working fine on this machine.

The Firefox browser stopped connecting to the internet right after the end of a Zoom meeting, on the computer that I use all the time. When I click the link, the start page will slowly come up, but none of the links work on this one computer. Otherwise, I am able to connect to the internet with other browsers and with Firefox on other computers.

Could the meeting connection have done something?

Thank you,

Betty

Browser stopped responding. Extensions didn't work. Regular reinstall left me in the same situation.

I have tried to do a clean install 4 or 5 times. Deleted profiles, went on a hunt for files to eliminate.

will do a google search 3 or 4 times after reinstall, but won't connect to other sites then it won't connect to google either. I'll get the 6 to 8 instances in the task manager that I have to kill.

Firefox went floppy today. Had to remove and replace, now with 97.0. Browser only partially works. my about:new tab lost all functionality, it is blank. Also, when I try to load any site from the Firefox Troubleshooting site all I get is a blank page with no actionable items. Formerly active about:newtab now gives a blank page.

Actions tried: (Computer is a new Dell Optiplex 3038) Removed and reloaded Firefox Restarted computer several times Powered down both modem and router and restarted after 5+ minutes Nothing helped.

Here's the kicker, I have a Dell 9010 Optiplex in the same room and a laptop in another room. Both of these computers are running Firefox with no problems. The about:newtab functions as before with all web pages showing.

All units are running Webroot SecureAnywhere software as the anti-virus software.

On this page we have: "We've made some educated guesses about your current browser and operating system. Show details »" Trying to access this link gives, again, a blank page. Help Norvell Nelson

The only thing that happened yesterday was there was a Windows update (Windows 10). Now today when I try to start Firefox, it takes 4 - 5 clicks before it will even open (actually now I can't get it to open) ... but I did just change the setting to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 8 and things seem to be working correctly. Before I did this, when Firefox would open, I could not search - even in Firefox for add-ons, help, etc. All I would get is a white screen. I tried clearing my cache and even uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox but had the same issue. It seems to be "fixed" right now in compatibility mode, but it also seems like future issues may arise. Thank you for any insight!

For the last 3 days I have been unable to connect to net via Firefox.

I've changed nothing on my end, so don't know what the problem could be.

Prior to 2/09/2022 everthing was working as it should. Now when I try to log on the only think I get is a blank screen with just the Firefox logo in upper left corner and blank search box.

Have tried uninstall/reinstall. Don't know what else I can do. It shows that the firewall is allowing access. I can access net via IE or other site, just not via Firefox.

Would deeply appreciate any help that can be offered.

Thanks in advance.

This is what I have done so far:

I have done a full OS refresh of Windows 10.

Used Revo Uninstaller to remove all program files, Registry items.

Deleted all App data for every User account.

Re-installed Firefox with a fresh installer.

What happens:

After installing Firefox it will open once, and only once.

If I close it at any point, it will never open again unless I re-install it.

It will not open in Safe Firefox Safe mode (Holding shift) It will not open in Windows 10 Safe Mode It will not open with my firewall completely disabled my anti-virus uninstalled & off It will not open after restarting my PC It will not open after refreshing my OS again It will not open after Administrator Command Prompt ipconfig /flushdns It will not open after Administrator Command Prompt netsh winsock reset (And restarting) It will not open after clicking refresh re-installing it It will not open after deleting all extensions/cookies/profiles (again) It will not open after deleting all contents of the start-up folder. firefox.exe -p does not open or work

Firefox will only open -ONCE- immediately after re-installing it, I do not know what other options I have besides literally doing a clean install of my entire operating system.

I will get background processes when I try to open Firefox as if it's open, I've already tried closing them then opening again but the program still doesn't open.

I'm at the point where if I want to use firefox, I have to run the installer & it will open then I can use firefox until I close it then I have to run the installer again for it to open.

Literally everything works except for Firefox, I can run every program, game, stream/record video, etc. I have been bending over backwards doing everything I can to see if something else was going on, if anyone has any troubleshooting, I can try outside of what I've already done so far please let me know I'd like to resolve this without having to restore my entire PC for just firefox.
