After updating to firefox43.1 this morning (19th December) firefox is in constant crash mode. I've uninstalled and re-installed 3 or 4 times still to no avail. When i click to open it, a minimised screen appears with two 'new tab' buttons at the top and the firefox start page tab (3rd in from the left).

This hangs there for a few moments and then I get the firefox has crashed and has had to close message. This has now happened at least a dozen times. It was working perfectly until this latest update and I've had to download Google Chrome just to get online.... and it sucks. I really want to get back onto Firefox.... please help. I've tried to attach images/screen-grabs and the error file but they won't load up.

Thanks.

Starting with version 43.0.0 Firefox started to crash on my machine. With 43.0.0 it happend a few times, but with 43.0.1 it crashes just after startup. I try to send a crash report every time it happens but it says there was a problem sending it. In the submit log it says "Crash report submission failure: Could not establish connection to the server". Because of this I do not have a directory of sumitted crash reports, only one with pending reports.

I have tried reinstalling Firefox twice, reset Firefox so no plugins or addons are installed but it still crashes shortly after startup. Even when it is open long enough for me to exit Firefox it crashes on exit.

I can include a few report ids but as they have not been sent I don't know how much good they will be: ea4782b8-f222-46f3-95a3-620a8b783844, 4cf5165b-3ad4-49c1-8615-6c2665799791, 7ac58778-bc59-44c3-8579-ba4be962a5a8. I do have the .dmp and .extra files for these crashes.

I am running Windows XP.

I have data from the troubleshooting page as RAW (JSON I guess) and text:

Dear Volunteer,

After I updated to Firefox 43 the browser crashes within 1-2 seconds each time I try to open it - even in Safe Mode. When I downgrade to Firefox 42 it works fine with or without Add-Ons (by memory these were No-Script and StumbleUpon). Firefox 44 beta also crashes. I don't know what has changed between versions 43 and 42 but I am using Chrome now since it does not crash (this request is being completed using Chrome). I prefer to use Firefox, however. As a result, I cannot add the troubleshooting information requested.

After each crash I allow the crash routine to gather information but it always reports that there is a problem submitting the report. My crash ID is Crash ID: bp-19a3b7fe-1db3-464c-8b87-cdf0c2101001. No other piece of software is exhibiting any similar issues.

I would be very grateful for any help. Best Regards,

Tim Olson

Firefox crashes on startup even in safemode. It will stay open for about 10 seconds then close. I've tried refreshing firefox and I've tried uninstalling it, then deleting the Mozilla folder in Program Files, then reinstalling it. Still crashes. I have tried disabling all Add ins and deleted and recreated AVG antivirus rules yet still Firefox crashes after a few seconds of being online. Interestingly, if I disable the network adapter or unplug the computer from the internet, firefox appears to be stable. However, 5 secs or so after being reconnected it falls over again.

EDIT: The support page grabbed data from a different computer from the one I am having trouble with - my troublesome machine is Win XP service pack 3.

I've been running Firefox on an old XP system for at least six years. And never, ever once had any problems with it. All of a sudden, tonight, I reboot the old machine - come back to it 20 minutes later and KERPOW. Crash crash crash! AFAIK it is Firefox version 43.0.1.

Firefox will apparently run as normal for 5 to 15 seconds, but then a crash prompt appears.

Rebooting - has not helped Unistalling/reinstalling Firefox - has not helped

Firefox still runs on another Windows 8.1 system. Have you done an update at around 9:00 to 10:00pm (GMT) 20th December 2015 that has finally abandoned and removed all compatability with Windows XP?

The error reporting system in this "crash report" all refused to work..... just helpfully informing me there was "a problem" sending the report to you.

Firefox has been crashing on startup for several days now. I had this problem a few months ago and not sure how I fixed it. I have removed Adobe Flash, tried uninstalling Firefox, deleting any files left in Firefox directory and re-installing, still crashes. Firefox tries to send crash report but it fails. Tried Firefox safe mode and crashes.

Crash ID: bp-00dd5ac6-690d-460d-88e5-112002110611 is the latest in a long string of crashes. I have uninstalled Mozilla and reinstalled several times but, even with a refresh, the browser will only stay open for a few seconds before it crashes again making it difficult to make any configuration changes to fix the crash issues. I have used Mozilla for years with an occasional crash now and then but I am stumped on what to do now.

I have used Firefox without problems for approx 6 months however as of 19 Dec 15 my Firefox just keeps crashing after about 4 seconds. I am currently using Internet Explorer to get around the problem which appears fine. I have tried to start in Safe Mode, it still crashes, I have submitted numerous reports over the last 24 hours to you. I have carried out a full uninstall, then run Microsoft Safety Scanner, Malwarebytes & Microsoft Security Essentials, all say OK. Then re-installed Firefox direct from your site however just crashes straight away as before. Looked at various chat forums to try to understand issue however I cannot find an answer to this issue. Would appreciate some help as I love my Firefox and do not feel safe using Explorer. I am unable to carry out any of the additional info requested below as I cannot get access? Thanks

Hello,

I didn't install any new drives, hardware, etc. I was simply browsing the web yesterday and today when I boot up my PC and load Firefox it crashes just after a few seconds of being open. I tried the below as suggested in other threads to no avail. Any suggestions?

1. Scanned with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 2. Uninstalled Firefox, then manually removed files here AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles 3. Tried updating Adobe flash player 4. Tried in safe mode, still crashes after a few seconds 5. Disabled hardware acceleration

Here are my recent crash IDs:

December 2015 ..Since the latest Windows update and Firefox Update I can no longer access Firefox. As soon as I open Firefox it crashes and the pop up window says submit crash report...which I have done. My operating system is Windows Vista. I have 7 other computers in my house running Windows 7, 8 and 10 and none of the other computers are experiencing any issues with Firefox. I have gone through ALL the steps recommended by Mozilla, uninstall, reinstall, safe mode, without plugins, check internet connection etc...nothing has helped. On the reinstall Firefox would open and stay open but would not connect to any websites. I then would get the message cannot locate XPCom. I did some research online and read that XPcom is not used in Firefox any longer so that was odd. So in the end I did a system restore back to the end of November 2015 when all was working well. But now I am back to Firefox crashing every time I open it. Help Please. I am a "only ever want to use Firefox as my web browser person". I have used Firefox since the beginning of time and it has NEVER failed me. I cannot bear to be forced to use Goggle Chrome instead of Firefox. :( Thank you for all you do to provide an amazing product! :)

My firefox keeps crashing, even in Firefox Safemode. It started a few days ago, but I don't remember what I did that could have caused this...maybe update Firefox??? I use Windows 7 Pro. Firefox is up-to-date, because I was able to update it in Windows Safemode. My AVG antivirus is up-to-date, as is Windows. I ran a virus scan from AVG and Trend Micro House Calls (internet based).

Setup: Firefox 43.0.1 (x86 hu) on Windows XP (32 bit). For a while FF crashed, even in Safe mode, even after Refresh Firefox. Also, the sending crash report won't send anything, so here I uploaded the last two files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ftdhza8m9d0y097/AACx4mU-JLIyEmhMgBb6ZP3Ga?dl=0 The system was infected with malware but it looks like Malwarebytes's Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware got rid of them. Also the caches were cleaned and I updated the video card drivers.

Thanks for any heads up!
