Firefox constantly freezes up as soon as I right click on menus. In the expand/droppdown menu square box that pops up when I right click, is first just white (to text) then goes black and freeze. I understand the Win7 gets no support but does anyone know about this issue and can I go back to a version that does not do that? Preferably a version that does not hound me to update every 10 sec :)

I use Firefox with DuckDuckGo on Ubuntu 24.04, Gnome desktop. My Firefox browser window regularly freezes but can be unfrozen by simply repositioning the window. This is really annoying.

I also use Chromium on the same system and there are no issues.

Any ideas?

When trying to do a search for a video in YouTube Studio, the search seems to freeze. Doing a similar search in Microsoft Edge works OK. This problem started happening several months ago. I've tried clearing the cache for YouTube pages.

Background: I have Firefox on a brand new Thinkpad X1 Gen 11, running Windows 11. I have used Firefox with multiple Google accounts on an older machine for 5+ years. That machine is running Windows 11 as well.

Problem: I cannot add multiple Google accounts in order to access Gmail, Drive, etc. I have added the first, my personal account. When I select "Add another account" from the menu icon in Gmail website, it takes me to the add account page. As soon as I try to highlight the name of my personal account, it freezes and the only option is to shut it down. To be clear, this is trying to add a Google account when browsing, *not* trying to create multiple profiles in Firefox. I have refreshed, reinstalled, and searched for a solution. What is going on?

I have the latest version of Firefox (137.0) on all of my computers, but it all of a sudden became unresponsive on my laptop:

MacBook Pro 13inch M1, 2020 MacOS Sonoma version 14.7.5

The homepage loads and I can go into preferences, but pages won't load, and then it freezes up and I have to force quit. I tried re-installing Firefox, but that didn't help.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been using Firefox for 10+ years, and have not touched my add-ons etc for years. I also regularly clear my cache of temp files.

That said, searching my (vast) bookmarks in Firefox used to be lickety-split, very fast. Then, it started slowing down, on both PC (Windows 10). Then, a little while later, it started on my laptop (Macbook with latest IoS).

It's now gotten so bad that I am searching my emails to find the links I'm looking for, rather than putting my browser into a coma for a time, because it freezes.

What is the problem, and how do I overcome it?

For the past week or more the browser freezes up. A message comes up about "waiting" or discontinue. It often finally begins to work again; however the problem persists and very annoying. Can anything be done?

I have recently built myself a new computer and started running MS Windows 11.

I have a problem with Mozilla Firefox, where after a few days of being installed it takes 10 seconds or more to load (or to load subsequent new windows). It also takes a long time to switch from window to window or to close any windows. Opening and swapping between tabs is immediate.

Here is what I have tried:

- Switching off hardware acceleration. - Clearing the cache, deleting all other data and uninstalling the single add-on I use. - Creating a new profile. - Using Mozilla's own "Refresh Firefox" option. - Trying the beta version. - Probably some other stuff that I've forgotten about.

The ONLY way I can get things running at the proper speed again is to completely uninstall Firefox using an uninstaller (that also deletes all the registry entries), restart the computer, and then reinstall Firefox.

After setting things back up the way I want, Firefox will run nicely for a number of days, then will slow down again to the point where I have to uninstall and reinstall (whilst also deleting the registry entries).

It doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever whether the computer has or hasn't been restarted during that time.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I have a new desktop i7 computer with 16 GB of RAM. Why are my Firefox browser screens locking up? I'm running Windows 11 Pro. I don't have this problem with Chrome.

It is consstantly freezing up. Sometimes if I click the x the window will refresh but that takes a minute or two. Mostly all I can do is close everything and start over.

I wish you answered the phone. I waste soooooo much time trying to fix this. Chrome doesnt do this

For at least the last two weeks, I have experienced a lot of trouble working with Mozilla Firefox. Just reading my emails is an arduous task.

It crashes, I lose internet connection, it does not "respond," etc., and Symantec Norton 360 cannot find out WHY! I have deleted Firefox and reinstalled it, and it is still unreliable.

Before I have to resort to using another browser, can YOU tell me what is going on. I have a Dell desktop, using Windows 10 Pro (obtained in 2018). Firefox is my default browser. I also have Google Chrome installed.

Please help!

I’m running into a frustrating issue with Firefox. Whenever I paste a large amount of text (especially code) in one go, Firefox freezes and becomes unresponsive. This happens frequently in various web apps like ChatGPT and Make.com.

It’s not a one-time thing—it happens consistently when pasting large blocks of text. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue, or is there a way to fix it? Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Windows 11 24H2 Firefox 135.0.1

In the current version, Firefox slows, freezes and requires restarting. This seems to happen after about 8-12 hrs of being open (several windows and several tabs per window). Firefox is using ~5gb memory (system has 64gb).

When we get to this point, opening a web page will pause for 5-10 seconds and then complete. Pressing exit at this time has the same affect - 5-10 sec pause and then close tabs. Restarting Firefox fixes everything. Have to do this this at least 2x per day.

I updated firefox just yesterday or earlier today idk and the right click menu is so long with multiples of the same and they DO NoThInG! Linux Mint 22 Cin. 6.8.0-55 Generic Kernel
