I have started receiving a secure connection failed error message for a portal log-in website that worked fine for the past 6-7 months (see attached document). Other people in my group use Firefox and Bitdefender to access the portal and none of them are having this issue.

I originally believed the problem to be my anti-virus (Bitdefender) and worked with them to resolve the problems. After trying various solutions including clearing my cache, using private mode and turning off different components of their software, Bitdefender believes the problem is with my browser setting and not their software. I also tried accessing the portal using Chrome in both regular and incognito modes and cannot access the site which would seem to rule out the problem being a Firefox browser problem but contacting Firefox support seems to be the next logical step.

I have been to the Firefox FAQ and saw similar problems with potential solutions - DNS over HTTPS, TLSKEYLOGGING issues, add-on exceptions - none of which worked. I have the most recent version of Firefox and am running Windows 11 home version.

Sometimes if I hit refresh after receiving the error message, the browser will try to connect and I will get a server time out message. If I keep hitting "try again", sometimes the portal log-in screen will appear and allow me to log-in. The key word is "sometimes" since often I just keep getting the server time out message.

Any ideas for me to try from this forum?

Beginning today, I suddenly cannot access numerous websites when I use Mozilla Firefox 151.0.2. Examples include Amazon, and Google, et al. Attempts to do so consistently fail at the point of performing a TLS handshake, when I am advised that "secure connection failed". Kindly refer to the attached screenshots. I have no difficulty whatsoever accessing the same websites when I use other browsers, such as Google Chrome and MS Edge. I previously had Mozilla Firefox enabled as my default browser, but I have had to change this, given these "challenges". Please advise how I can fix this. Best regards and many thanks.

I am getting more frequent "Firefox can’t create a secure connection to the server " messages. This isn't inherently an issue, but on most of them there is no longer a "continue anyway" button. I know your first response will be "It's for your safety." Well now, I'm a big boy, 58 to be exact, and I wear my big boy pants everyday. I am perfectly capable of deciding how much risk I'm willing to accept. This especially applies to sights I am familiar with and trust that suddenly trigger your warning for some mysterious reason. This is becoming a large problem for me and if there isn't a fix for it I may have to reconsider my use of Firefox.

This is the message I get:

Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.gyroscopereview.com. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

Because other users (including people who use Firefox) are able to reach this site with no problem, I hope someone can tell me what the issue might be. Thanks

All of a sudden almost every site I try to enter comes up with "Secure Connection Failed". This started happening on Friday, July 10th for the first time. I've read almost every article in the Firefox's community forums and tried multiple actions and nothing stops this. I don't know why this all of a sudden when it never did this before. I hope someone can tell me how to stop this from happening].

It is very annoying to not be able to have acces to my scholarship, my accommodation, or just my whole student services in general even if they are websites from the french government. I cannot bypass the mozilla security risk warning so I'm asking for some help here. the website is https://messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr/

it would be a great update to be able to go past the warnings in the future, being unable to do so forces users to switch of browser, especially when you cannot have acces to such websites which are essential for students

I wish to add an exception to an address which I host locally. I've explored many options which didn't work such as: Adding HTTPS-Only Exception Disabling certain security features

My laser printer will not print due to low toner. However, when I click on "more information" to find out the toner level, that site is shown as unsecure and cannot be accessed.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

I periodically need to access a website with an expired or self-signed certificate. I understand the risks, but the browser won't let me. I've searched both the regular settings and about:config, but I can't find an option to restore the button to ignore the warning. How can I ignore the SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE notification and proceed to the website I need?
