Suddenly I cannot search from the search bar. It defaults to the address bar. why "fix" something that was not broken. Being forced to use the address bar is frustrating. If you go directly to the address bar, it tells you it cannot find that site.

I have just had to replace my PC following a bit of a disaster with my old one. The new PC has Windows 11. As usual I downloaded Firefox as I always use this. Somewhere in the installation of Firefox I must have been asked about blocking ads, but I don't remember. Now all ads are blocked, which I don't mind, but some sites are asking me to disable my ad-blocker if I want to use their site. Mostly I don't but there is one I need to use, so I would like to add that site as an exception, but I cannot find any mention of any ad-blocker in settings. Where do I find this? and how do I add exceptions?

The only add-on that I have in Firefox is the 'Privacy Badger' which could be the problem I suppose, but I can't see the website listed in the ones Privacy Badger is blocking.

Just recently I changed my privacy settings to take advantage of the privacy opt-out option for websites not to share my data or information. I went to my AMX credit card account and now every time I move to a new page the message, "Your Global Privacy Control opt-out signal has been honored" pops up and gets in the way of the information on the page. I am constantly having to click on the X in the corner to close the message box. Once would be enough for each main website. Having it pop up every time is absolutely annoying. I like having this option but if it's going to make me have to close the informational box every time I move to a new page or back to a former page, then I will have to undo the choice. The web designer who put this message text into the Firefox browser needs to find a way to only have it pop up once if they feel it is really necessary to tell me that they are blocking information from other companies. I really don't even need the first message just as long as it works behind the scenes. I hope someone gets web support to look into this issue. It's just so annoying.

The weather widget is set the country I am from, however I would like to actually use a different location for the weather. Is it possible to do? I tried to type in the city I want it to be set to but it only shows cities from my country.

For few days, it's impossible to connect to FACEBOOK. I have the latest version of FIREFOX, but I have to use another web browser (EDGE) to connect to FACEBOOK. The problem is the same with my two computers with the latest WINDOWS.

When opening a new window on firefox I see a "homepage" (No URL offered at the top of the page), offering some helpful, frequently used shortcut icons followed by a number of headings, i.e. : Popular Today, Connections, Featured Videos, etc., providing image/links to stories from various "news" or "interest" websites, which I can click on to view. Opening a number of these sites in order to view the advertised "story" require setting up a free, or paywall account/membership, etc.. How can I eliminate these undesirable/unwanted options from being "offered" or shown on my firefox homepage? Something may look interesting, but I'm not one to sign up, or pay to view these opportunities. I see where I can eliminate entire Categories, but what I'm trying to do is block, or eliminate the "offer to view" what I deem "unwanted offers to sign up to view this "story". Can this "Junk/Bait" be eliminated from my homepage on a site by site basis? As examples: CNN, Wired", "the cut", among others. Can the page be configured to eliminate the offering of "Non-Free", "Non-Membership", "Non-Signup" Sites? (Apologies for my lack of appropriate semantics, I'm just a user, not an Internet Expert, developer, or or software-savvy person.) As an aside, is there a way to contact a real live human person at Mozilla/Firefox to assist with issues like this, or answer related questions. All I seem to find are circular links to "Contact Mozilla", which bring me to unrelated FAQ databases, and user forums, etc., where I find I'm unable to get an answer to the question asked? I have CentOS Stream release 8 on my laptop and desktop, with firefox-115.11.0-1.el8.x86_64

The error appears invariant of my IP address (different IPv4 addresses after rebooting my router, or an IPv6 address via a proxy). I have Firefox 60.7.2esr and 78.5.0esr on an older machine. Those sometimes work to some of these sites, but don't support all the site functionality, e.g. I can't actually login to Costco. www.tesla.com/modely works in 78.5.0esr. The Firefox on my Android tablet works for tesla; I haven't checked all the other sites. In conversation with my ISP (Starlink) customer service AI, I have tried deleting cookies and disabling plugins (only H264 and Widevine) with no effect. It suggests there is a problem with Akamai fingerprinting the browser.

I get edgesuite errors using Lynx or elinkx or curl also

I have messenger loaded but with Firefox i can not video call when i want to call a friend or family. I have no way to call any one i do have a web cam. do i need to go to Chrome every time i want to call. Messenger has stopped desktop messenger that was how i could call but now i can not is there some way to Facebook video call on Firefox please let me know thanks I want to stay with Firefox why is there no way to get video calls on Facebook??

I'm on Debian 13 stable with firefox nightly (tarball) downloaded from the firefox website with firefox running on wayland. I don't recall the exact time / build that this issue happened, but it has been persistent for over a week or two already.

The issue I am seeing is where secondary menus or popups do not scale properly in firefox. This includes Popups for extensions, right click menus, or even link previews (long click left mouse btn).

Things I tried with no luck:

• Restarting my computer
• Restarting firefox / Updating firefox from the firefox website (https://www.firefox.com/en-US/channel/desktop/)
• Changing my display scale (100%) to (90%)
• Changing firefox display scale from (130%) to (100%)
• Refreshing firefox through the settings (aka clearing extensions and all the other stuff)
• Switching to X11 and back to Wayland... X11 worked fine, but back to Wayland just got things borked again
• Updating all system packages on Debian (nothing much except for security updates on debian stable)

Now the questions I have:

1. Is there a way to fix this issue? 2. Where could I file a bug for this issue? 3. Are there other people with this same issue?

Some extensions I use have been updated and now ask permission to "Access your data for all websites." What is the scope of this access? Can an extension which facilitates video downloads see my bank password? Can it access data for sites in a different Firefox container? Can it access sites which I use in a different browser? Can it access data for sites which, on my system, are only available to a different user? Thanks for any clarification. [I am running Firefox 149.0 under Kubuntu 24.04]

When I try to attach file via drag & drop, the Firefox always display "Download file" as attachment. I don't know why because it properly worked before. but after some updates, drag & drop is not working.

The version of Jira at my office is not changed for years(v8.12.1#812002-sha1:7c28d59) and drag & drop is working via Chrome, Edge and etc.

I want to restore a previous profile which I can see on File Explorer, but no previous profiles appear on the About Profiles page. How can I access this previous profile?

Since latest upgrade (1/16/2026) I cannot log in to Outlook email. This is specific to Firefox 147.0.1 (Chrome and Pop Peeper logins to Outlook work fine). I tried clearing cache, updating, restarting, rebooting, trouble-shooting mode, private window etc. to no avail. I get 400 error from Outlook.

Ever since Firefox updated (to 147.0, I assume), I can no longer get ChatGPT to work. It does nothing when I click on "Log in" (I have a ChatGPT account), and the up arrow that you hit (or enter button) after asking a question does nothing (and the up arrow stays greyed out even while you are typing the question). I can use ChatGPT just fine on my Safari browser and iPhone. I used my iPhone ChatGPT to take me through steps to help, and it had me do several things (all of which did not work). These included: 1) refreshing the page/restarting; 2) open chat.openai.com, clicked lock icon and clicked "clear cookies and site data" and reloaded the page; 3) did same and clicked on the shield icon and toggled off "enhanced tracking protection"; 4) Went to file and "new private window", then chat.openai.com; 5) went to "about:support" in Firefox and clicked "refresh Firefox"; 6) Went to Firefox Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Permissions, then Block pop-up windows, then clicked exceptions and added "https://chat.openai.com"; 7) Then to Firefox Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site data, then manage exceptions, then added also "https://openai.com"; 8) Then changed enhanced tracking protection to Custom and unchecked cookies (cross-site tracking cookies) and restarted Firefox (I have since rechecked the box); 9) When I log into Firefox, it was showing a banner that read "Your privacy matters. Firefox now securely routes your DNS requests whenever possible to a partner service to protect you while you browse." Chat said to click "Disable" for this.; 10) After refreshing Firefox I chose (the 2nd time) "Restore only the ones you want" and opened a new tab. 11) At one point, I hit "Log in" for ChatGPT and the screen went slightly blurry and a new small rounded rectangular box (about 3 inches long) popped up, and Chat told me to hit the "X" to close that box, it then said to right-click on "Log In', and to choose "open link in new tab", but that option was not available. Chat says Firefox is still failing to load the embedded login frame, even after refresh. 12) I logged into "https://chat.openai.com/auth/login, and that still didn't work in Firefox, either. 13) Finally, I changed to Safari and successfully logged in. But I prefer Firefox as my main browser and want ChatGPT to work! I've even tried adding it to my sidebar (the new feature), and the same problems are occurring. It won't let me log in, and I can't ask it any questions. Help!  :)

Can I permanently turn off InformationUpdate available' which appears each time I open Firefox. I must click Dismiss to close it. The problem is that after each update, many services to which I log every day, state that I am logging from a new device and I must complete a time consuming procedure of adding a new device in many places. And I don’t need most of the updates.
