I can't seem to disable the certificate verification on Mozilla Firefox. As you can see on the screenshot, the error code is SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER.

I tried multiple solutions, including :

- https://smallbusiness.chron.com/disable-firefox-rejecting-certificates-59249.html - The three solutions from https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20088/is-there-a-way-to-make-firefox-ignore-invalid-ssl-certificates - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1234483 - All of the solutions from https://browserhow.com/how-to-fix-mozilla-firefox-ssl-certificate-error/ - https://itectec.com/superuser/how-to-make-firefox-ignore-all-ssl-certification-errors/

and so on.

Is there a way to disable this for only one website, or at least for all website ? I got a web interface which is self signed (if I understand everything correctly) where we can bypass the certificate "error" but it would be great if I just could configure Firefox to skip it entirely for this interface (as I'm certain it's not insecure and even if it was I'd still use it because I can't use anything else for now.

I know Chrome has a command line which do exactly what I want (--ignore-certificate-errors) but Firefox is a must go for me so I'd prefer to find an option on this browser.

Thank you for your time.

My tab bar and menu bar background is white. I have the latest FF version and I hear it should be black but it isn't. It used to be but I may have changed something and lost it?

How do I make it black for ease of visibility - but not the web pages (just the upper bars). I have searched for hours and none of the answers either match what to do, or work.

Firefox has been awesome. But, my computer just updated to windows 11 and now it doesn't work. Sometimes I try to open the browser and nothing happens (but I somehow end up with something like 7 instances of it running in the background, according to task manager), sometimes I get it to open, but it won't load my homepage or anything, and sometimes it seems to work fine but only for a little while - then it just stops responding.

I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. I tried the browser reset, which helped for a little bit but then the problems came back. I think having a theme installed makes it worse, but now I can't even get settings to open so I can try turning it off to see if that helps.

Any ideas? Not being able to use the internet on my computer is a pretty big deal. I'd prefer to not switch browsers, but I don't know what other option I've got at the moment.

Thanks!

Hi, I can't install Firefox and I don't know what's going on here.

Yesterday I installed the latest version of Firefox and it worked fine. Then, I turned off the laptop and the next day when I was going to use Firefox, it didn't load any pages. Edge was working fine, Chrome was working fine, but Firefox was not working. Trying to fix the problem, I decided to uninstall Firefox and installing it again. In order to clean even more the previous installation, I even manually deleted the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder to remove all possible traces. I restarted the laptop and downloaded again the Firefox installer. I don't know how, but the installer detected that I had already installed Firefox before. I unchecked restart Firefox and hit the button to continue with the installation. After this, was impossible to install Firefox again. I got a message saying that the installation cannot continue because the VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. The message said that this problem can be fixed by reinstalling the program, but that is not true, everytime I try to reinstall it, I get again the VCRUNTIME140_1.dll error.

After this, the installation stops and the Firefox icon appears on the desktop, but it doesn't install properly the software and when I open it, I cannot browse the Internet.

Do you know what's going on here and how to solve this?

Cheers

I'm using Firefox 85.0.2 . . . I was doing this (below), to customize my header and footer, but in this version of FF, I no longer see this in Options - only in: about:config . . . keyword "footer" . . . there, I would have to change it for 5 different ways of printing (to printers or to PDF)

I need to get rid of printing the URL in the footer - many times, it's too long, and I don't need it.

Where did the Page Setup option go?

I see in the current Print Options, you have to go to - More Settings / Margin / Custom - to see those. Why would they put this so many levels down?

It used to be: File / Page Setup / Margins & Header/Footer . . . "Customize" Headers & Footers:

Option 1 (left) . . . there are two leading spaces:

 > > &T
 > > &U . . . &D . . . &PT

Option 2 (left) . . . get rid of the ">"s, and just have the two leading spaces:

 &T
 &U . . . &D . . . &PT

Please help, I just screwed up so bad I accidentally pressed the red "close" button on Firefox on my Mac instead of the yellow "minimise" button and lost a bunch of tabs I need (they were from a while back so not in history)

There is no option to "restore previous session" or "reopen tabs" is there any way whatsoever to recover my lost tabs I am freaking out big time there was some really important stuff in there that I hadn't bookmarked yet like an absolute IDIOT!!! My session had stayed active through computer being shut down and restarted and Firefox updates but pressing the red "close" button has seemingly nuked it. Is there a way to go into folders and find the tabs? Anything please help :(

Any help appreciated, I'm desperate.

Hello,

I just upgraded to Firefox 87 and noticed that I wasn't able to go back to the previous webpage by clicking on the backspace button like what I have done in the past if I'm not using a mouse on my laptop and had to click on the back button in the toolbar with the trackpad. I'm not too sure of why that happened with the upgrade and was a little surprised about that. Hope I can be able to get around this in some way if one of you know anything about this. Thanks.

Alright, basically I backed up my PC before I wiped it. Then decided to move from chrome to firefox. But there is an issue, I can't migrate my passwords because google chrome will not read my old LOGIN DATA file and refuses to create a CSV either. So basically I can't import about a decade worth of passwords into firefox because of a flaw in chrome's design, fantastic.

So I thought, well, surely if there are program that let you read SQL files (such as the LOGIN DATA file) if you have the password, firefox must be able to do this to right? Well no. Apparently not.

I am not sure if this is the correct place to formally request a QoL feature but I would really, REALLY, like to be able to import my passwords directly from chrome's LOGIN DATA file, I have the master password.

It was my mistake to back up my files thinking that would be enough, I should have known better and double checked if chrome could not read its own native files. But now im screwed. Help. Please.

It seems like something has changed recently, I don't remember having such problem before. As you can see on one of my pictures I have browser settings changed to always ask what to do with every file extension, yet encountering link to pdf file it loaded automaticly in special frame instead of showing just link to it. I included pictures of this frame, settings and another screenshot of the same website in Opera browser with similar settings where nothing loads itself.

Link to the problematic comment with auto-loading pdf: https://kodluch.wordpress.com/2021/09/30/30-09-2021-syria-2187-dzien-sprzatania-swiata/#comment-115906

Hi

I don't know what's happened to cause this, but for the last few days if I grab a torrent file online, I only get the option to save the file, no option to automatically open in my torrent client.

I have been to Firefox general settings, and Applications - "Choose how Firefox handles the files you download from the web or the applications you use while browsing" but .torrent is not listed. When I search "torrent" in the Applications search box, I get only "magnet" as a result, nothing for "torrent" files (see image).

Any advice on how to automatically open .torrent files from the web in my torrent client would be appreciated.

I need to use Google Meet for a professional purpose. When I use is from the Chrome browser, I can present a specific tab on my desktop; however, I prefer to use Firefox as my default Browser. The problem is, when I use Meet on Firefox, the presentation options don't include sharing a tab. Is there a way to fix this, or do I just need to use Chrome when meeting?

Thank you.
