After installing Firefox Sync and restarting Firefox, I get the following error when I select <Options> on the Firefox Sync 1.7 extension: XML Parsing Error: undefined entity Location: chrome://weave/content/options.xul Line Number 6, Column 3: <setting id="weave-account" type="string" title="&account.label;" /> --^

I used Firefox Sync successfully on Firefox 3.x and 4.x; is this problem related to Firefox 5.1? What do I need to do to fix this?

Did sync replace xmarks? Is it possible to sync using my older Mac OS? My desktop is my primary working computer, but I need my laptops to have same bookmarks, etc. Thanks for any help!

I have a Firefox Sync account and I synchronized my firefox data with it. But I have completely cleared up my PC, so can I use Firefox Sync to recover my firefox data?

Please know I am a 65yr old female neophyte. I am lucky I can follow directions and try to find answers on Firefox, which I love to try to use. Please excuse these questions -- A PhD in personnel/ administration is not an indicator of how ignorant I am in FireFox and computers." Let me say what I think I did: I thought it was a very neat idea to guard the names and passwords I use all over the Internet ... So I think I followed all the directions to store my passwords in the encoded "vault" - looked at the list of sites, names, passwords, and eliminated/ deleted wrong combinations on the list. carefully copied the sync key. Then came the Problem: it asked me for an email name and the password for it. So... I gave it ma2dsjb@yahoo.com I cannot find how to add into the "Firefox sync" the other email names and passwords? Some are on Yahoo, some on AOL, one on "live" and sites such as Facebook with its passwords

When I go to set up firefox sync there is no sync menu in the preferences pane. There is still an option under tools to "sync now" but it does not appear to do anything. I am running firefox 5.0.1 for mac.

I can see the icon if open "Option" under the menu "Tool", but when I look up in the "Add-on" under the same menu, I can't see Firefox Sync in the list. I don't know if the update of Firefox Sync for Firefox 6.0 is not ready or there is other problems which I don't know. I downloaded this add-on software a few times and set up, yet the problem was still there.

I already have a synch account but I don't care about any other device right now I just want to backup my settings on this computers browser right now. Want to replace anything with what I have here but it just keeps asking me to put in something from other device. I want to re add other devices later. I don't even think I have it on my iPhone right now. It's frustrating!

When i open the firefox preferences there is no sync option listed and the version of firefox is 3.6.21 and it should be there? When I download software update is show I'm OK??? any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, John Ruccione

I recently formatted my c: drive and reinstalled windows Vista, and lost my firefox data. When I was attempting to connect my sync account, I tried to set it up manually but I had forgotten my password. So I reset my password, but accidentally changed my sync key, so I actually lost all my data. Stupid, yes. Is it possible that I can retrieve the data? Perhaps the servers keep the deleted information for some time before they are actually wiped out?

I have a sync account , can I use it on a cafe or someone else computer ? So that I have access to passwords, bookmarks etc . And once I logout it will remove it ?

Or is sync only available for my private devices ?

Everything is marked to be synchronized. Everything is synchronized correctly but the tabs. Each firefox keeps his own open-tabs session when it starts. That's a correct behavior?

As an old user of firefox I have recently tried to use the Sync function in order to easilly manage the bookmarks and preferences between my computers.

So I created a Sync account on my laptop, but the sync never worked. Instead my browser displayed an error message saying that the sync process encountered an "unknown error".

When I tried to synchronize my other computer with this newlly created Sync account, I only obtained error messages either saying "no account name" (that was yesterday) or "server badly configured" (today).

I also tried to reinitialize the Sync settings on the "main" computer (the one used to create the account in the beginning) but I could never reconnect again to the account using the account name, password and sync key. All I could obtain was the same error messages as those I got when try to synchronize other computers.

If i try to recreate an account using a different email adress, I also get an error message saying "unknown error" when I try to enter the new email adress to be used.

If I try to delete the first account I created on the account management webpage, I only get another type of error message saying "Oh dear. Looks like one of the dinosaurs escaped again. We keep them away from the data, so that should be safe. Please try again later when we've wrestled him back onto the treadmill".

I am surprised to observe that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL seems to be working with Firefox Sync for me so far. I was used to much more reliability on Mozilla products and services. I just hope that someone has a solution to this issue, but I can see on this forum that many people seem to have unsolved problem of the same type recently...

When I try 'Set Up' on my Macbook, it says to get the key from the iMac (other machine) with several groups of letters that I suppose I am to memorize. After going through all the other stuff I then go upstairs and look for the key under "Options" . no "options" that I can find and no key. Seems obtuse and circular.

I would like to be able to synch my iMac, Macbook, iPad and iPhone.

If possible .. how??

Sync encounter an error while connecting: Unknown error. Please try again. Preferences... I want to remove Sync from PC no need for it . How do I do that or if I can not I'll remove Firefox. Poor development if you can not remove the software

i am trying to set up sync, everything works fine until i get to the 'prove you aren't a robot' page. i can't see any text to type so i can't continue. please help!
