Hello –

Firefox suddenly started crashing on startup and continues to do so every attempt — Mozilla Crash Reporter appears and MozCrashReason = MOZ_CRASH(Using observer service off the main thread!).

Same crash on startup in Safe Mode. Also attempted all troubleshooting steps on Mozilla support with no luck, and haven't been able to find any existing community threads that seem to address it. Also attempted complete uninstall/reinstall.

Any help getting this sorted out will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm experiencing a long-lived bug, or more possibly file corruption, that became important very recently. Due to another bug in Firefox 65 (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1249037), I need to change cookie permissions. In the preference panel under "Cookies and Site Data", the "Manage Permissions" button doesn't work, although being not gray. After clicking this button, the expected window is not shown visibly. However invisible window still blocks keyboard and mouse input to the original firefox window. Clicking away from the center of the screen or Esc would disengage and possibly close the invisible window. The consequence is that I can't see or change permissions from this window. I have been having this problem for several firefox updates so it's more like a corrupted file. Despite that, cookie permissions still function properly and can be updated through the icon on the address bar.

Although there are workarounds such as through the icon on the address bar, this is really inconvenient and makes it hardly possible to edit cross site or cross subdomain cookie permissions. How do I figure out what is wrong and correct it please? I'm using Ubuntu 18.04.

I use Firefox 65 on Windows 10 computer. Since Feb 9 i used instructions found in Answers to the "How to use userChrome.css to move Tabs to the bottom" Question, to: - adjust height of Address, Bookmarks and Tabs lines - underline Bookmarks and Tabs lines - adjust width of Tabs,

but could not find way to adjust Menu-bar line height.

It would be nice to get instructions about rules and list of commands that can be used how to design userChrome.css file.

When I'm using Firefox, on reputable sites, this screen pops up, along with a bunch of beeps. It appears to be from Firefox, but I assume it isn't. Where is coming from? Is is dangerous? How do I get rid of it?

I called Apple support, and they helped me run a scan with MalwareBytes (the scan came up clean), but the problem is still recurring. The Apple support person said to contact Firefox.

Almost a year all versions of Firefox begin to use all available memory (Windows 7, 6 GB) just from start with 5 tabs (Email, Messenger, and some simple websites). Closing tabs never affect memory usage. It seems that Firefox never release memory, only eat more with every next website...

I know the article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-uses-too-much-memory-ram And I tried everything from it. The only way to release memory - restart Firefox.

The same problem from another person already marked as closed last year: https://support.mozilla.org/ru/questions/1223605

The best answer: "The more memory is used the better because it means you don't have RAM wasted. Firefox uses RAM to make its processes faster since application data is transferred much faster in RAM." Firefox developers, do you really think so? That eat all available memory for your ONE application is a good strategy?! When I start any other program, Windows begin swapping and swapping, trying to free some space for it...

The screenshot of common memory usage is attached.

Mozilla's latest policy change, forcing FF updates and the latest messages to update are the " last straw." I don't like my computer resources being high jacked to perform upgrades but prefer to do them manually each month or so. The latest message appearing in the upper right hand corner is very annoying. I've been using FF and it's predecessor Netscape for a long time but the upgrade issue is a significant problem. This web browser will be missed. Thank you for the run.

I was a long time Firefox user who years ago switch to Google Chrome. I use Gmail and Youtube on Windows10 Pro here. I rely on getting notifications via the browser when certain Youtube streams go live.

Recently I figured I would give Firefox another go. I tried Firefox 65.0.1 however whatever settings I changed in the browser I could not get the notification window in the lower right corner to pop up when I a stream went live. I downloaded and installed Firefox beta and that fixed the problem.

However another more pressing issue is my current battle. I use multiple Gmail accounts and always have relied on the browser to log me out of my Gmail sessions. Well in Firefox it does not. I have tried using browser.sessionstore.privacy_level = 2 in about:config as well as telling Firefox to remove Active Logins in History. Neither made a difference. When I closed Firefox and started it back up and when to Gmail I was automatically logged in.

I then tried telling Firefox to delete mail.google, com cookies aka current session only. Well that worked but too well. I use 2FAuthentiction on my accounts and telling Firefox to delete either mail.google.com cookies on browser close also removed my 2FA cookie requiring me to re-enter the rolling code on ever login.

Is there no way in Firefox to simply log me out other than remembering to use the Gmail logout option BEFORE I close the browser?

I'm running into some problems with accessing Hotmail as for some reason it will insist on adding a OWA like so https://outlook.live.com/owa/ and I'm being blocked from accessing Microsoft support at as Firefox Claims that Microsoft support at https://support.microsoft.com/ hasn't configured their website correctly which I find hard to believe. Can this be switched off or bypassed as I need to know what's going on with the Hotmail account?

I'm a german user, sorry for my bad english. I hope that someone can help me.

Everytime, when I start my personal computer, I do have the same problem:

Firefox is starting and it shows me my (five) websites in his tabs, but they will not be loaded. Instead of loading, one tab shows me to restart all others, after all other tabs are closed. Then Firefox ask me, if I want to restart all my five websites. It's not important, how many tabs I want to load, it's not important, which websites I want to load. The problem is the same.

I did uninstall Firefox (first simply, later with IObit Unistaller removing residual files) and install it after that again. I deleted the cache and all cookies. Nothing changed. The problem is not resolved.

What can I do?

For months (maybe 6-8), every time firefox restarts for whatever reason, the browser windows always change in size, shape, and location. The "default" size always runs off the edge of the screen, which means they aren't functional as-is (whatever's off the screen obviously can't be read or otherwise interacted with). It also tends to consistently move windows to the left, so they're stacked right on top of each other (messily) instead of being spaced out.

I can and do resize it, but it's a complete pain to do so every single time... especially since I use cascading windows to let me navigate between windows easily, so the oversize and overlap means I can't easily access several windows until I do resize and move each one. Since my task bar/desktop is unreliable, I can't use the icons or shortcuts pull up windows unless I can actually click on them on the screen - this problem is outside the scope of the question, of course, it just explains why I cannot find a workaround.

Since firefox usually restarts when updating or other automated restarts, which triggers the windows to change size on restarting, I tried manually resizing the windows and then manually shutting down and reopening firefox to see if that would "save" the new sizes - this was a catastrophic failure, it failed to save or open *any* of my windows, showing no recently closed windows or tabs in history and no previous browsing sessions. And I do have it set up to open previous windows and sessions, I went through and double checked *every* setting after that. I did have session sync going, so I could save some of it - but only some, since session sync fails to save the history of any tab (to show previous pages) and I often stack several related pages in one tab to organize. I have turned to using automated shutdowns (forced shutdowns through the task manager, etc) since I at least won't lose everything that way.

I also tried (based on searching for possible solutions) disabling the window resize line in about:config (from here: https://codeyarns.com/2011/03/25/firefox-disable-window-resize-or-move/) which did nothing

I am tearing my hair out over this, any help would be really appreciated.
