So for the second time this month my bookmarks in my toolbar have disappeared. I was signed into my Firefox account both times they went missing. I tired to restore from backup...... nothing. I made sure that the tool bar was enabled.... nothing. I'm so frustrated, as I am in full-time school with three days left in my term and all my textbooks and course sites are GONE!! I don't understand why this keeps happening.

Hi! I just did a Firefox refresh to fix the slow browser issue and instead of saving all of my bookmarks and passwords, everything was deleted. I've tried to restore but that is failing as well. How do I get everything back?

My browser recently updated to 83.0 and the search engine switched to Bing. When I go to Preferences - Search, the default search engine is listed as Google. Even if type something in the bar and then click on the Google icon, it searches on Bing. If I click on the DuckDuckGo icon, it searches on DuckDuckGo. How can I switch my search engine to Google?

I am having trouble logging into my bank's website from Firefox. It's worked fine for several years and I have no clue what triggered it all of a sudden. Furthermore, I can log in just fine from various other browsers.

I have Google around on the issue for awhile now, and have troubleshooted several different things based on what I've Googled, such as clearing all site cookies, data, cache, etc. Also I had a pop-up blocker add-on but I removed it and that didn't do anything. Lastly, I tried completely uninstalling Firefox and re-installing it without ANY add-ons, but it still doesn't work.

Details on what happens: I go to the log in page, and I put in my user and password and click to log in, and it does nothing. It just basically refreshes the page, so the page comes back up with blank user and password fields.

Any help/ideas on the matter would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I use an app that enables me to scan an expense to pdf, then opens the pdf file so I can see the details to enter the amount, supplier, expense type, date into the bookkeeping system to create the bookkeeping entry and attach the pdf to it. I use Firefox as my default browser (version 83.0). However, I cannot see the PDF data anymore - it is totally blank, so I cannot use the functionality. I have queried this with the bookkeeping support who say this is a browser issue. If I use another browser e.g. Opera the functionality works fine. Can anyone suggest whether this is a Firefox settings issue or suggest a fix? TIA

I have "Restore previous session" checked but when I restart my computer Firefox does not start with the previous session. Currently I have many tabs open and need to restart Windows but I looked in my profiles folder and do not see any of the session files and backup folders.

Why are the session files (sessionstore.jsonlz4, recovery.jsonlz4, recovery.baklz4, previous.jsonlz4, sessionstore-backups) missing from the profile folder?

I can't restart Windows because I don't want to lose my tabs. How do I get Firefox to save the session to disk?

Files will not load. Been getting this error several times in the past 8-weeks. Ready to ditch Firefox. I constantly have to re-do the damn search engine BS. It's got way old...

How do I enable Javascript? I visited the page before and it never asked to enable java. The site I'm refering to is Bringatrailer.com. . To read the comments it says "Please enable JavaScript to engage in the discussion on this site."

The answers I found on the internet re firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting do not apply to my version of Firefox . There is no ADVANCED under Options/General.

When I get firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting, the ALLOW often does not work.

Firefox keeps displaying '400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large' when trying to read articles on www.bloomberg.com.

It only happens when using this site and only on Firefox and not on Safari or Chrome.

How to fix this and be able to use Firefox as default browser for this site?

When i switch on my computer i have to make sure that i open Firefox and restore the previous session before i do anything else.

For example, if you click on a link in an email - and if Firefox is not open - then it will open Firefox and you have lost access to your previous session tabs.

Yesterday, when i switched on the computer Adobe wanted to remove a program - so i uninstalled the program and then it opened a page in Firefox so i lost 50 tabs. Sigh.

SUGGESTION As well as having the option to restore the previous session could we please have the option to restore the session before that? I think this will make a lot of people very happy.

How can I switch Firefox browser, for an actual desktop computer, to dark mode. I can't seem to find anything in the browser options, and the only mention of dark mode I'm finding in help articles is about a pdf reader. Thanks in advance.

Updated to Firefox 83 and now my browsing history in 'History' and in 'Show All History' will not delete despite my preference settings being correct and having tried deletion in all possible ways. Something is wrong because after I have clicked 'Clear Recent History' or closed Firefox with 'Delete on closing' selected, the preference page shows a change in the kb being used to store history, yet the browsing history has not been cleared. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or let Firefox know?

Sorry to be making a thread about this, but I really need some help.

I was in a hurry to update Firefox to "Firefox 83.0" and because I was in such a hurry I think I may have clicked the wrong button and damaged the Firefox Update process? I'm worried that I interrupted the update process from "Firefox 82.0" to "Firefox 83.0"

Is there any way to check that the update to "Firefox 83.0" was successful and that I'm running the latest version of Firefox and that there are no problems???
