Windows10 Won't Boot & Won't Restore - Need To Recover My Mozilla Profile VIA Command Line

After following a support document on editing system registry (the document suggested a full registry export in opposition to the chosen registry key export which does no good when in my situation using Windows 'reg import' can not be done using the full registry backup) to restore functionality of my Seagate USB Backup Plus Windows10 will not boot and I fear that I am going to have to start from scratch and so I wanted to ask this question in preparation for the worst possible scenario.

I am chronically reliant upon being able to close Mozilla having faith that it will always restore my last session(s) of all open tabs and their locations successfully EVERY TIME ... now that I may have to start from scratch with my OS, I am desperate to recover my Mozilla profile and I am in great hopes, that recovering the profile will likewise have my last session data to be restored once I get Windows10 running again, because I will really be in a pickle if I lose my open tabs!

So my questions are:

1: Is it possible to recover the profile including the very important "Restore Last Session" where all open tabs of the last session exists?

2: I will be retrieving the files VIA Command Line. I would like to be certain that I am retrieving the correct file(s) from the correct file location(s). Can someone provide the Mozilla profile folder locations and names.

Thanking you in advance for your time and knowledge

Best Regards

I recently upgrade to FireFox v74.0 on my Linux system running Slackware64-current but can't seem to get the flashplayer plugin working.

Both of my IP webcams require the flashplayer plugin.

Can it be installed and enabled on FF v74.0 or am I stuck using my older version of FF v52.9.0 for my web cams ? (currently making this post with FF v52.9.0)

I have machinery that will run on XP and nothing after that, I believe Windows is trying to push us back into the dark ages, I was with them from 3.1 and Bill Gates, to push his product went to manufacturers that used computers with DOS and a yellow on black screen and convinced them to change to Windows, my first computer back then only needed a 120M hard drive.....now.....and then after years of upgrades, Microsoft dropped everyone that got them started, I can't even watch an instructional video on Youtube now because everyone does what "Microsoft" wants and stopped supporting??????

Ever notice that the sites that insist on the user disabling Ad Blocker to continue browsing are the ones that run 20 flash ads at the same time? Not to mention the half GB of content it seems that they download on every click?

Here's just one egregious example: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7919337/Last-flight-Wuhan-Everyone-wearing-masks.html

When I disabled my Ad Blocker, CPU usage went to 98% and the page froze my browser.

How do you guys deal with sites like these? Do they realize that this "heavy-handed" approach is counterproductive?

I'm on an old laptop with an old browser which I can't update. That shouldn't

be an issue because for something that seems to be the solution for like 99.9%

of the problems you get we're told to "clear the cache"

I've looke in both options/ security and options/ privacy. Nothing there about

clearing a cache. Options/ any of the others there's nothing about clearing the

cache. "play DRM content" whatever that is, I have no problem finding that.

That's righ there easy to find us if people use it all the time. But clear the

cache? Nope, that has to be hidden.

I clicked on a site that behaves like a rogue and locks me out of any further clicks in FF (including the X-Close in the taskbar). I had to shut FF down by stopping the process in Task Manager. Since I have the FF option set to resume the previous session, restarting just puts the last tab I opened in control, so I'm still locked out. How can I restart FF at this point without its opening the rogue tab? I read that if you aborted FF twice in a row, the 3rd time it would restart and present the Oh oh! Restore Tabs screen, where you could eliminate any problem tabs. But I've tried that several times (killing it with TaskMan), and I never get the Restore Tabs. I'm running Windows 10 and I assume the latest version of FF. I'd appreciate any ideas how to recover from this situation!

NOTE: The Installed Plugins Info below is NOT for the problem machine, since I can't open FF on it. I could use Edge, I suppose.

Thanks!

Firefox ESR 52.4.1 (32-bit) is the only version that allows switching to GDI rendering with hacks. The hacks involve setting gfx.canvas.azure.backends and gfx.content.azure.backends to just cairo.

Aside from Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8 and Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, the only browser I can think of where it's possible to use GDI rendering is Firefox ESR 52.4.1 (32-bit). But, as the user browses the Internet, that browser eventually deceives the user.

The problem with DirectWrite is that the text is rendered with way too many dark gray pixels, causing text to become unrealistically thicker and more distorted. On the other hand, GDI uses correct gamma and fully respects font hinting, meaning text renders exactly as the type designer intended.

Even then, Firefox ESR 52.4.1 (32-bit) does not always use GDI rendering, even with hacks.

Highlighted the portions where Firefox ESR 52.4.1 (32-bit) is not using GDI rendering:

I'm trying to log into eBay using FF 52.9 ESR, the last version that works on my old XP PC. It's always worked in the past, but now it's saying that I have to verify myself for security using a reCAPTCHA. After going through the interminable selection of pictures of buses, bridges and hydrants, it seems to work, but then this pops up -

"To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier."

If I click to re-send, all that happens is that the reCAPTCHA page comes up again, and I have to restart the whole thing. If I click to cancel, nothing happens. Any idea what's going wrong here? I've tried several times with the same result, and basically I can't now log into eBay! Thanks, Dave.

Hello.

I want to delete certificate "GeoTrust Global CA 2" that expired on 2019-03-04. This certificate is located in the Security Device "Builtin Object Token".

I tried to delete this certificate via settings (about:preferences#advanced -> View Certificates -> Delete or Distrust...). The certificate has been removed. But the certificate appeared again at the opening of these settings.

I tried to delete this certificate via "NSS Security Tools" with such command certutil.exe -D -d "D:\MyProgs7\FirefoxPortable52.9ESR\Data\profile" -n "GeoTrust Global CA 2" But the certificate appeared again after restarting Firefox.

How can I delete unwanted, expired, builtin certificate?

Thanks.

Firefox 52.9 ESR. OS: Windows XP SP3.

Those three operations should make the text rendering correct:

Disable hardware acceleration Set gfx.canvas.azure.backends to direct2d1.1,cairo Set gfx.content.azure.backends to direct2d1.1,cairo

https://renderingenginetest.netlify.com/

Dark theme can be tested by reversing the foreground and background colors in the HTML.

For reference, here is the correct GDI rendering of this website:

https://i.imgur.com/dWuZfbD.png https://i.imgur.com/M4oKd7i.png

In Firefox ESR 52.4.1 (32-bit), text renders correctly:

https://i.imgur.com/InrXmeI.png https://i.imgur.com/kn3bZra.png

which is the same as the GDI rendering of this website, except for some line spacing issues.

However, in Firefox 70.0b6 (32-bit), the rendering regressed and text no longer renders correctly:

https://i.imgur.com/Jn2NxGJ.png https://i.imgur.com/qDxww7y.png

Line spacing is correct, but don't let this distract you from how profoundly unsmooth the rendering is in the light theme version. The dark theme version is nearly identical though.
