Can someone please explain to me why the extension Video Downloadhelper works so erratically? It seems like it's gotten worse over time. According to Perplexity AI it probably has to with Mozilla's incessant updates; I have no idea if that's true or not, I just know it doesn't work very well anymore.

I just started getting an annoying ding/small pop-up window that appears to be a link to various ads . . . I would like to get rid of it.

I assume it is FIrefox, as it started happening after my most recent update. I also assume there is a setting I can use, but I don't see a settings icon in Firefox. <Sigh>

Possibly it only pops up when I'm using Duck Duck Go, but I'm not sure about that.

Sure need some help here . . . much appreciated.

The google page keeps showing up every 20seconds, I try to close the page down but it keeps popping up and I do not know how to stop it.

Please can you assist.

Most questions I see on this are either very old or want to rearrange built-in options like save image or open new tab. I just want to reorder the extensions at the bottom of the context menu.

Connection failed Firefox cannot establish a connection with the server at addons.mozilla.org.

I can connect to other sites.

My "Video DownloadHelper" application is no longer displayed horizontally in the top bar, but now vertically on the left side of the screen. I can push the left bar away, which is extremely annoying, but then I have to search for the application using the "Settings" function. This takes too long and is too cumbersome. I want the "Video DownloadHelper" application to be displayed horizontally in the top bar again, as it was before. 1) Why did you change this in the first place? and 2) What do I have to do to get the "Video DownloadHelper" application displayed in the top bar again?

dans mon cas ,j ai une extension pour bloqué ou limité des sites ,comme protection enfant .

le problème, c'est qu'il enlève extension et la protection n ai plus active .

peut-etre une idée a creuser .

With regard to extensions , I notice that there is no security to delete an extension.

in my case ,j have an extension for blocked or limited sites , as child protection .

the problem is that it removes extension and the protection is no longer active.

Maybe an idea to dig.

I have been trying to set group policy for ublock-origin extension in firefox linux.

I created a file "~/.mozilla/native-messaging-hosts/uBlock0@raymondhill.net.json"

with content

but no matter what i add here, nothing is getting reflected back to extension settings. can you guys please advise on what to fix here

This question is about a specific Firefox add on. I have not used extensions or add ons previously and am concerned about the safety of the one I want to upload: Claude Conversation Capture.

The page says it will require permission to Download files and read and modify the browser’s download history (which is fine) and Access your data for all websites (which scares the heck out of me.)

How can I safeguard my privacy and data to prevent a breach and maintain proper security if I download this add on?

Can anyone help with this please? The add on would be extremely useful but not at the expense of my security and privacy.

FWIW I am #notageek and very tech challenged, so please explain anything I need to know in ordinary language I can understand (will be greatly appreciated.)

I’m using Firefox version 134.0.2 in MacOS 15.2 with 1Password version 8.10.56 for Mac. The 1Password extension is enabled and the app is open and unlocked but each time I open a site requiring login and password I get a pop-up telling me to, “Press the 1Password icon in your browser’s toolbar to unlock.” This requires me to unlock 1Password again to enter the site’s login/password combination. Not sure if this is a Firefox or 1Password issue but it’s annoying. Any thoughts on a resolution? Thanks
