I want the home page to be blank when I open the browser, I want the home button to a URL. This was possible in older versions, and when you then updated the browser it maintained this difference - if it was already set. I did that once but I don't remember how far back on versions that is an option. Is it possible to do this in 89? If not, how far back should I go to install, make my home page and home button settings, then update to the current version. Then we're all good.

If you could supply a link to the correct FF file (windows 10, 64bit) that would be even more good.

thanks

Hello everyone! I`m using Firefox for a long time, but the following problem makes is almost impossible to us it anymore:

since a couple of month Facebook stopped working correctly on Firefox, it works for a while, then suddenly everything stopped, does not load anything, nor the page, nor messages... I need to clear the cache of facebook cookies then works for a while again... and then repeat.

It wasn`t a blocker problem with Facebook, but now it does the same with everything related to Google too. I push google button on bookmark, nothing, i push any button on Google (if already opened), nothing... Google docs buttons disappear, google login not works, etc... The same cookie cleaning helps, but i can not do this with google too... I`m logged in to work documents and stuff, can`t just reload everything every 10 minutes....

I use only Addblock Ultimate and Mouse Gestures Event, but tried disabling them without effect on my problem.

Thank you for your input!

Syncing Open Tabs to Mobile was unable to see my coordinated up tabs from my PC on both my flexible devices(Phone and Tablet)? Exactly when I go to the changed tabs on my phone, I see the tablet and the PC recorded. The tablet shows all of the changed tabs from the phone anyway thework station shows the message "no open tabs" which I do. Exactly when I go to the changed tabs for the tablet, I see the phone and the PC recorded. The phone shows all of the coordinated up tabs from the tablet yet the PC shows the message "no open tabs" which isn't the case in reality. Curiously, both the tablet and the phone synchronized tabs all show up on the work station as they should. Envision a situation where anything am I missing. Similarly, every one of the three contraptions are all Samsung. Any help will with being esteemed

Since the 89.0.1 update on Windows 10 21H1 (Build 19043.1055), Firefox will not let my PC sleep, unless I quit and re-open Firefox. There is no audio playing on any tabs, but after a while of using Firefox on YouTube or whatnot, it will not release the audio device to let Windows put my monitors to sleep even though all playback has ended.

This can clearly be seen by running "powercfg /requests" as an administrator.

With videos playing, as expected Firefox reserves the audio device, as well as an Execution request.

Output: [ PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe display request

SYSTEM: [DRIVER] High Definition Audio Device (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_10438581&REV_1000\4&2d156fef&0&0001) An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE: None.

EXECUTION: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe non-display request

PERFBOOST: None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: None. ]

But after you stop playing the video the output becomes: [ PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe display request

SYSTEM: [DRIVER] High Definition Audio Device (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_10438581&REV_1000\4&2d156fef&0&0001) An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE: None.

EXECUTION: None.

PERFBOOST: None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: None. ]

You can see the audio device doesn't get released, and the only resolution is to quit and restart Firefox.

This doesn't always happen, but does happen after a while.

doesn't scroll on this computer: laptop Windows 10 Home v 20H2 Firefox v 89.0.1

What I've tried on the laptop so far (none of these solved the problem):

tried in a private browsing window

tried in Troubleshoot Mode

uninstalled Firefox deleted default profile folder (that was the only profile) deleted profiles.ini reinstalled Firefox

Hello,

How can I permanently deactivate this nagging update reminder in the upper right corner (green arrow over Application Menu button) and frequent pop-ups in upper right corner where I have to repeatedly click on "Not Now"?

I'm not upgrading to v89 because the next update will once again BREAK my userChrome.css code and my user interface (with tabs on bottom and custom button images) will appear scrambled.

I'm quite tired of having to jump through hoops and search for CSS solutions to fix these issues every few updates. It causes me too much anxiety.

I'm sticking with v88.0.1 for the forseeable future.

How can I shut off this annoying update reminder permanently?

Thanks.

Good day,

I am so upset and frustrated after losing all of my bookmarks from my favorite browser that have decided to ask this question here which I'd normally not do and am hoping someone could clarify and guide through restoring it all.

I rebooted my PC last night and upon reboot completion my firefox was updated on its own to v89 or something, the latest as of today's date and so i spent a day not liking the most important thing that I enjoyed on the previous version, which was the ability to reload the open tab by mouse right clicking on it and selecting "Reload tab" (which was the FIRST option at the top of the menu), but for some weird reason the latest update has "New tab" as the first option to select from and no longer "Reload tab" (which is now the 2nd option), which drove me crazy as every time I went to reload my multiple open pages by mouse right clicking them and clicking on the first option at the top of the menu (which used to be reload tab), it was opening 6-7 new tabs instead as the first option at the top now is "new tab", which drove me nuts. This could be a really minor thing for some, but its not for others, its fine that its there, but there should've at least been an option to re-arrange the right click menu and either hide "new tab" as Im not even sure why that was implemented as you can simply close on the "+" signg at the end of your tab to launch a new tab if you need it, from being the first on the list or something along those lines, but I wanted my "Reload tab" be the first option on the list when I mouse right click on any page to perform action with it and thus I decided to revert to prev version Firefox Setup 88.0.1 on my Win 10 pc.

The problem I faced was when I started installing that older version I got this pop up (see attached image)

Without any serious thought I clicked on create new profile as it wouldn't let me install the older version otherwise, it either had an exit or create new option and once I created new profile it all looked brand new as if i've never owed a firefox before and I've used it for ages, my fav browser. Everything is just gone, addons, extension, everything I had organized.

I tried restoring previous profile via about:support, I see 3 on there with the latest 2 seeming to be the latest once and there was one that I think was my old one, but when I clicked on "Launch profile in bew browser" to see if thats the one I had with all my stuff, it kept giving me the same error that you see on the screenshot, so no matter what I did it just wouldnt let me launch my old one.

I searched here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-lost-or-missing-bookmarks#w_determine-if-firefox-has-created-a-new-profile tried a few things to follow, recovering bookmarks did not seem to work, I just see bookmarks from June 23rd which I didnt have any anyway, so it better not override anything I had before, and now im just so discouraged and not sure how to restore everything the way I had that deciding to post for help here.

I would appreciate if someone could clarify this instead of just posting links with tons of info to follow, I can find those links myself, some of them I followed, if someone who knows exactly what happenned and could say whether or not this is still recovarable with clear steps on what to do that would be much appreciated.

I also wonder if I was to restore my windows to previous restore point, would it restore my browser to how it was or it wouldnt?

Please assist, thank you!

I am trying to include some PDFs in iframe tags on my website. Previously they appeared as normal, embedded within the page. But now whenever the page is loaded firefox prompts the user with the "What should firefox do with this file?" window or whatever the default action for the PDF file type is. It does not display the content on the page and the iframe is just blank. The iframes still work on chrome so it does not appear to be an issue with my code.

I know that the autofill for credit cards is only available in the US and Canada (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/credit-card-autofill#w_edit-your-saved-credit-cards). I live in the US. The feature was working just fine... until I traveled overseas and used my laptop there and changed time zones to where I was visiting. Now that I'm back in the US, the feature is missing. In the settings, I don't see a "Forms and Autofill" section in the settings. I checked system locale and it's properly set to us-en. All the settings are properly set in about:config. I've tried everything I found by searching online and nothing helped. I even tried creating a separate profile in Firefox to see if the section shows up under setting with no luck.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I run a program called nodered on a raspberry pi in docker. I use a browser to reach the user interface via lan. If that tab sits in the background too long (~5 min) the connection with the server resets and resets the gui.

I lose all current debugging information and any unsaved changes. Saving the page will stop the lost progress but not the current debugging. In other words just saving the page each time will only solve 1/2 of the problem.

Is there anyway to keep a background page active so it doesn't reset after a few minutes?

HERE IS THE ANSWER Here is the answer to get TABS BELOW with Firefox V90 . . copy all of this code below the broken line into your - userChrome.css - file and save it. You can modify the 45px in this line if you wish to get an appropriate height . . just experiment with different numbers till you get it right --menubar-height: 45px; /*30px|41px=11px; caption buttons on menubar*/

Also to make the tabs wider or narrower, modify the line which is coded width: 50vw !important;

Finally you must enable - css - in Firefox, by typing about:config into your address bar, and search for toolkit. When all the toolkit options appear change the one which says toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to TRUE by click the icon in the right hand column. Than close Firefox and reopen, and check how it looks This will enable your - css - file to be read, and interpreted and accepted by the Firefox browser.
